"Top Choice for Assisted Living!"

We loved Inspiration's Bayside Assisted Living. We visited 5 places and this one was the best! The staff is friendly, the food is good, and overall, it's been a great experience. We'd definitely tell other families to check it out based on our experience so far!

"Poor Food, No Activities, Unfriendly Staff at Assisted Living Facility"

My mom had a really bad experience here. The food was just not good, and there weren’t any healthy options to choose from. They didn’t have any activities either. The place was clean, but it always had a bad odor. The nurses on the floor were unfriendly and seemed to be sitting around often. The office staff would never call back, and they didn't seem to show any concern for the residents. We transferred her to a different community and now she's a lot happier.

"Comfortable and Spacious Assisted Living for Mom"

My mom enjoys staying at Woodlands Assisted Living. We really like the room she has—it's very nice and spacious, so she has plenty of space.

"Needs Improvement in Care and Communication"

We picked Woodlands because we heard that paying more doesn't mean better care. It's also close by, which is good for us. They said there's a chef making fancy food, but the meals don't seem that special. Plus, they keep giving her food she shouldn't eat. When I talk to the boss, I don't get clear answers. She should know more about what's happening. They're not great at talking or understanding, and it feels like they care more about filling rooms than the people living there. The care she gets isn't worth what we pay. You have to stand up for your family in these places.

"A Caring Place with Some Hiccups"

I haven’t seen much due to Covid restrictions. Sometimes it takes a while for them to return my messages, probably because they’re short-staffed. The person who helped us move in was great, but he left for another job. Since then, it’s been hard to reach someone. Still, they’re friendly and helpful. They’ve made it easy for me to visit my loved one despite my busy schedule. The staff is awesome, and even though my loved one has dementia, they keep me informed about her activities. The cost is similar to other places, but I know she’s safe here.

"Cozy and Caring: Mom Thrives at The Woodlands Assisted Living"

Mom really likes The Woodlands. It's a small and charming place. She didn't want a huge place for sure. The staff genuinely cares about everyone who lives there, and Mom has had a lot of fun with the activities they have.

"Shortcomings in Medical Care, Contract Violations at Assisted Facility"

The medical staff at this particular assisted living facility had issues handling oxygen tanks, resulting in my partner being admitted to the hospital twice. Our multiple tries to bring these recurring problems to the attention of management and nursing staff didn't seem to make any difference. Further, after the second hospital discharge, a nurse from Woodlands facility went against the terms of our contract by not allowing my spouse to return to the facility on a Friday. According to the contract, we were supposed to be given thirty days' notice and an additional evaluation. I had already made plans to transfer her to a different facility, but I needed enough time to find a suitable one. The medical staff's performance was disappointing and unsatisfactory. The management, moreover, didn't respond adequately and seemed to back up the ineffective medical staff. Please read any contract thoroughly and understand all costs involved before signing. Also, take the time to read reviews before making a final decision.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

The place was alright. When we got there, the staff wasn't around, but the room was decent. It's a bit farther from where we wanted to be.

"“Assisted Living Falls Short for Mom”"

I didn’t have much time to decide, but this place wasn’t ideal for my mom. The rooms were small, and it’s too far from family with limited services.

"Inadequate Care and Insensitivity at Assisted Living Facility Recorded"

During my recent visit to my loved one's assisted living facility, I was shocked and disturbed by what I witnessed. I stumbled upon another resident fallen in the hallway, by her wheelchair and injured. I cautiously approached her and asked if she needed help, to which she responded positively. She had triggered her emergency alarm button, but despite this, no staff members arrived to aid her. Left alone with the fallen resident, my husband went off to search for assistance while I stayed put. He discovered two staff members comfortably chatting and watching TV at the end of the hallway. When they were informed about the situation, they came over but didn't directly interact with the resident. One staff mentioned finding a nurse, while the other nonchalantly claimed that "she needs a one on one" and that these incidents were a regular occurrence for her. The situation further escalated when a different staff member arrived and chastised the fallen resident, insensitively asking why she was on the floor. Reacting to this, the resident tearily asked why she was being yelled at. The staff member casually took a phone call, interrupted by a request for the nurse, instead of immediately addressing the situation. A follow-up staff member then tried to pull the resident up by her wrist, causing her to scream in pain. After placing her into a sitting position, the staff member left her unattended to make another phone call. We had only reluctantly left the scene at this point, but the shocking incident was all caught on camera.

"Neglectful Health Care at Assisted Living Facility Caught on Camera"

Having just spent time with a family member at the assisted living facility last night, I stepped into the hallway and saw another resident lying on the floor, her wheelchair beside her, bleeding. Carefully, I went up to her to avoid scaring her and asked if she needed help. She said she did. I asked if she had pressed her alarm button, the pendant she wore around her neck. She confirmed she had and even pressed the alarm a few times while I was there. No staff appeared for several moments. My husband went to look for assistance while I stayed with the fallen resident. He informed me he found two staff members socializing and watching TV down the hall. Once they arrived, they largely ignored the resident. One of them said they needed to fetch the nurse. The other one told us, with a dismissive attitude, that the resident "always gets out of bed." The staff member later decided to search for a nurse too. A third staff member eventually arrived. She humiliatingly questioned the resident, asking, "what are you doing down there?" The distressed resident replied, "Why are you yelling at me?" We then heard a phone ring - it was the staff member's, who was talking to someone about needing a nurse. Another staff member came, roughly trying to help the resident sit up by pulling on her wrist which caused her to cry out in pain. She then forcibly moved her to a sitting position by putting a hand on the back of her neck and pulling. The staff member then left her sitting there while making a call using the hallway phone. At this stage, we walked away, utterly appalled. The entire incident was caught on tape!

"Caution: This Assisted Living Facility's Negligence is Alarming"

Don't be deceived by this facility. It's nearing two years since we placed our loved one here and the situation has only worsened with the staff. Two years on, her room hasn't been painted as initially assured. My husband and I drop by at different times and we've seen several incidents that are simply terrible. When we show them our videos of these incidents, they only come up with endless excuses. We're fervently hoping for a new place soon. I must caution anybody with a loved one here, or planning to bring them here, to get a video camera for their room. Make surprise visits, especially during the night, and witness how long it takes to locate a staff member. Observe how long individuals in wheelchairs are left unassisted. You'll see how residents are left to slide out of their wheelchairs, screaming for assistance, only to be ignored by staff who eventually leave them to fall to the floor. There's actual video evidence of a resident lying on the floor for close to 20 minutes before a staff member intervenes. Other staff members showed up nearly half an hour later, failing to inquire about the resident's condition, to comfort them, etc. After showing the staff that I was filming, they suddenly transformed their behavior. Once more, this is evidence of staff not caring for our loved ones as they should. Also, note that medications are not supervised. I've witnessed staff hand out medications to residents who later walk down the halls unsupervised. The staff didn't even check if the residents took the medications or just dumped them in the trash. Mysteriously lined along the hall window sill were many small medicine cups, some empty, some still filled. If your loved one has any allergies, this is a legitimate concern. Random medications are left around for anyone to pick up after dinner.

"Great Community With A Wonderful Staff"

My aunt is doing great at this community. I’m pleased with everything they’ve done. It’s a lovely place, neat and tidy. The staff is wonderful to work with. She even tried some activities, which was surprising but nice. Overall, she’s happy with the meals. I know she’s well cared for here. I recommend this community.

"Friendly staff and great food make this place special!"

My mom really likes this place. Everyone is super nice and they know her well. The food is great, and all the residents love the cafeteria workers. The cafeteria is the best part of the community. They keep a list to track if residents come to meal times. I would recommend this place and suggest having a meeting with the staff and getting their email addresses.

"Overall, a great place!"

The staff here goes above and beyond for my mom, ensuring her safety and well-being. Their kindness and generosity mean a lot to me. The place is beautiful, the food is tasty, and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend it!

"Warm and welcoming staff, but unexpected rate increases after moving in."

The people here are super nice, which is awesome. Everything has been really good. But there's one not-so-great thing: they started upping the prices right after we moved in.

"Assisted Living Experience: Hidden Details and Undone Promises"

In general, the experience wasn't super bad, but there were lots of things they didn't tell us when we moved our family member here... We had to find out and ask about some stuff that they should have told us before she moved in... Plus, they said certain things would be done in the first month of her stay, and they still haven't finished them... They haven't repainted the walls, haven't changed the carpets yet...

"Woodlands Assisted Living, Windlass Drive, Baltimore... clean and very attentive care"

Woodlands Assisted Living on Windlass Drive, in the Middle River area of suburban Baltimore, was wonderful for my father-in-law. They kept a close eye on him, especially since he was at risk of falling. He spent a lot of time in a beautiful, sunny room with other patients, where the aides were attentive and pleasant. They made sure he ate well and felt comfortable. We visited unannounced during the week and on weekends, and he was always clean and well cared for. I recommend this place.

"Neglected Elderly: Dangerous Care at Understaffed Nursing Facility"

This facility is grave danger to elderly relatives. They do offer enjoyable food and plenty of activities for residents. However, the facility is drastically understaffed which severely hinders their ability to provide proper and regular care for the elderly. Moreover, the nursing director fails to adequately oversee and manage everyone's medication because it's too demanding. To make matters worse, the nursing director allows residents from nursing homes into the facility without providing a hover lift to help transfer these individuals in and out of bed. The implications are worrisome, as staff begin to neglect heavier residents out of concern for their own physical well-being. The quality of care suffers even more due to the leadership behavior - the nursing director is quite disrespectful, speaking to employees harshly and inappropriately. This situation further erodes staff's motive to give proficient care for residents who need it most. This facility is an immense danger and if you don't have regard for your loved ones, this is the place for them. But, if you genuinely care about them, it's best to stay far away from this trap for the elderly.

"HORRIBLE! Avoid At All Costs!"

This facility is a DANGER ZONE! They slam you with a whole bunch of hidden costs and totally botched up my mom's medicines. They don't even keep count of her meds, as their RUDE nursing director claimed it'd be too much hassle. I beg you, don't put your family member in this place.

"Nice place, overall"

Things have been going really smoothly at Woodlands Assisted Living. The place looks nice, and they take good care of the residents. They communicate well and keep us informed. The food is better than average, even for my picky loved one. We've hardly heard any complaints!

"Disappointed; Need New Facility for Dad's Respite"

My Dad has been to The Woodlands four times since October 2013. The last couple visits, though, we as his kids were upset by his condition when we dropped in to hang out. Dad stays with my younger brother and his wife, and we chose The Woodlands for breaks during vacation and whatnot. We'll likely return to our original list from A Place for Mom and find a new spot for his stays.

"Uncomfortable Atmosphere For Mom"

We really didn't enjoy the vibe. The staff we chatted with and those hanging out outside didn't make us feel secure. It seemed like the outdoor staff members were maybe on a smoke break, and we could overhear them complaining and chatting about things. It was a definite no, we couldn't let mom stay here.

"Communication about medications and billing needs improvement"

I felt the staff was really helpful and patient with my dad. But, there were problems with medications. They didn't communicate well about what he was getting, when, or why. After he passed away, I got a list of his medications, some of which I wasn't consulted on. Also, I received bills for medications they said they gave him. When I called, they fixed the issue after I showed them our records. It was a bit difficult to get in touch with the right person at first, but once we did, they resolved our problems.
