"Excellent Assisted Living Community; Clean, Friendly, Compassionate — Highly Recommended"
It's a great place to live! My mom loved it so much that she wanted to move in right away after visiting. I would definitely tell other people about it. It's super clean, everyone is nice, and they really care about the residents.

"Mixed Experience at Commonwealth Senior Living"
My family member lived at Commonwealth Senior Living in Grand Rapids. Overall, he had a good time there. The place was clean, and the staff was nice and quick to help with questions or anything else we needed. They say their meals are farm to table, but I didn't see much evidence of that. They have to cater to a lot of different tastes and appetites, though.

"Assisted Living: Good Care, But Broken Promises"
The care is good, but there aren't enough staff for all the residents. They serve too much frozen or processed food. The activities are disorganized and don't follow the schedule they give. Promises made during the interview aren't always kept. If you're considering this place, talk to residents or their family members and ask about what the director promised.

"Caring Assisted Living with Some Challenges"
It's really nice! The assisted living facility is going through some changes, but they're handling it well. My mom is adjusting fine. Communication has been tough, but we're working on it every day. That's the one thing that gives us great comfort! The care my mom receives is amazing. Despite her struggles to adjust, they've been providing constant care for her. It feels good to know they care about her.

"Really Disappointed in Assisted Living Facility!"
My dad didn't stay long at this assisted living community before we had to move him out for not getting good care. Sure, there were one or two awesome caregivers there, but that's about the only good thing I can say about this place. They really messed up when it came to taking care of his health. Me and my family were really let down by how they managed things. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

"Great Place for Mom; Be Vigilant About Medications"
My mom's settling in well at Crystal Springs. It's clean and neat. There was a hiccup with her meds, but staff fixed it fast. Mom enjoys the food. When considering senior living, stay alert to your loved one's needs and communicate openly with the staff.

"Not Quite Right for Us"
I checked out this place for my family member's care. Crystal Springs seemed okay, but it didn't seem right for them. When I went, most folks were in the TV room, napping in chairs with blankets. My family member isn't ready for that; they need a livelier place.

"Medical Needs were not met"
The activities were great, but some staff lacked proper training for my mom’s medical needs. She struggled to adjust to the facility, and the nursing care fell short of my expectations.

"Unsatisfied with Care, High Staff Turnover at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is all smiles while you're still on your way in, but once you've moved in, everything changes. My friend's room was once tidy, stylish, and spotless. Now, it's a mess with clothing scattered on the floor, stains on her bed and couch, and they keep washing items that are supposed to be dry cleaned. Nothing is where I left it. She's dressed in mismatched outfits and her toenails are dangerously long, even though a foot doctor was there just a day before I saw this. She keeps losing her expensive hearing aids and it seems like no one's trying to find them. She they don't put them in her ears, or they put them in the wrong way. It cost us $3200 and she can hardly use them. They dressed her for She service in a stained white hoodie. She was feeling extremely fatigued for a week before they informed us about it, and she wound up with pneumonia and a five-day hospital stay. The food isn't appealing. They're saying they want more money each month because her medication increased from seven to eight pills. I just can't believe this. Now, they're suggesting a move to a costlier unit with supposedly better care. Staff seem scarce when I visit, and there's no reception desk. Anybody can come and go as they please, with no one accountable. I'm disappointed and upset at the level of care they're providing. My friend says the staff handles her too roughly, especially since she has a bad back. She was supposed to be using her walker but I always find her in her wheelchair and now she's too weak to walk on her own. I can see her health declining and I blame it on their poor care. The turnover in staff is alarming, with too many temporary workers and not enough well-experienced ones.

"Wish They Had Worked"
I toured some lovely facilities, but unfortunately, they couldn't accommodate my mom's medical issues. I wish there had been a way to identify this beforehand.

"My Review of Crystal Springs Life House"
Crystal Springs is a unique Assisted Living facility in the W. MI area. They offer a dementia lockdown area, and their rates are about 50% lower than nursing homes. The rooms feel like hotel rooms and can be personalized with familiar items. Despite the 65-mile distance from my home, I'm glad I found Crystal Springs. My only concern is the billing policy: if your loved one is there on the 1st of the month, you pay for the entire month. I paid a $1,000 entry fee and six weeks of care, but my husband passed away after just four weeks. It would be fair if they adjusted charges based on actual days or weeks used. Other facilities do so.

"Lock Down Memory Care with Great Activities and Food!"
The care is really good. My mom has improved since she moved there. They have a special memory care area for lockdown situations. They organize various activities from morning until night, including games and outdoor outings to parks or greenhouses. I’m quite satisfied with their services. They even have a chef who prepares all the meals, which my mom really enjoys. Plus, they actively encourage residents to participate in activities instead of staying in their rooms all day.
