"Friendly Staff and Cozy Atmosphere at Atria"
The staff here is really friendly and caring. The food could be faster, though. Atria is a clean, cozy place.

"Rooms and Environment Shine, Communication Needs Improvement"
I really like the rooms and the environment, but I’m not happy with how different departments communicate. The residents, caregivers, and chef-cook are all part of the experience, both good and bad.

"Beautiful Place, But Not Ready for Special Needs"
It depends on your loved one's diagnosis. If you go along with their program and everything goes well, it will work fine. But if you need something different, they charge you more without solving the problems. They aren’t ready for different issues, especially for memory care residents. It is a beautiful community.

Certainly! Here's the revised review in simpler language: **Original Review:** "I have not been able to visit due to COVID." **Revised Review (8th Grade Level):** "I couldn't visit because of COVID." And here's the summary headline:

"Good place but pricey, with food needing improvement"
Atria Park has been great, and we've enjoyed our time here. The only downside is the price increase. Also, the food for memory care residents could be better. It lacks fresh, healthy options and variety. Overall, it’s a good place, and I’d be happy living here if I were in my mom's position.

"In-Between Care with Lovely Apartments"
Nice surroundings inside and out. Assisted Living suits those with less need, while Memory Care caters to more impaired individuals. My mom falls somewhere in between. Affordable price, lovely apartments.

"Lovely Setting, Suitable for In-Between Needs"
This place is really nice, both outside and inside. They seem to focus more on helping folks who don't need as much help as my mom does, and their memory care seems better suited for people who need more help than she does. Right now, my mom kind of falls in the middle. The cost is fair, and the apartments are really nice.

"Nice place with good staff and clean facilities"
The staff has been really nice to my mom. The food is pretty good. They have some activities, but they aren't always what we expected and sometimes they get canceled. The place is clean, and I would recommend it.

"Friendly and Clean Community!"
The director who showed me around was really nice and knew a lot. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but the place was clean and well-kept. Because it's a bigger community, it cost a bit more. I ended up choosing a smaller care home.

"Friendly and knowledgeable staff, spacious 4-story facility. Wonderful tour!"
We had a really good time visiting Atria. The people who worked there were super nice and knew a lot about everything. They said they'd help with anything we needed. Atria is big, it's got four floors, which is more than the place we picked out.

"Smooth Sailing at Assisted Living: Father-in-Law Thriving"
We had some bumps at first, but now it's all good. My father-in-law loves it here. If we ever worry, they fix it fast when we tell them.

"Terribly rude management; overpriced, poor care, and bad facilities"
My folks stayed at this assisted living facility for a couple of years. My mother liked the pleasing look and homey feel of the place, but that's as far as the good stuff goes. The management of the place was horrendous- starting from Sunrise and transforming into Atria, both were managed by uppity and patronizing people. They displayed such unfounded fear that put my Alzheimer's-afflicted dad in the hospital due to his "aggressive behavior," and it happened right on the 4th floor leading to his ultimate passing. On top of everything, Sunrise/Atria was too expensive. They demanded us to pay for top-tier care plus private aides when my mom had a stroke. They even decided not to have their aides worry about her. This happened despite my mother's ability to care for herself if given the opportunity. They were more interested in avoiding responsibility. Aside from all these issues, the food was not good at all. There was no activities coordinator for a majority of the two years, and the "nurse staff" was both distant and incompetent. And the few people who seemed to genuinely care and had some talent were constantly getting fired. We eventually decided to move mom in with me and hire 24-hour care. Now, she's at a Sunrise facility in Carlsbad, CA, where the ethos and management is far superior. She is doing really well, being active, walking, and singing. Leaving Atria was the best decision for the well-being of her remaining years.

"Friendly Staff and Comfortable Living at Atria Park"
The staff is really nice and dedicated. The only thing is that there aren't always enough activities, and there's a lot of downtime between them. Overall, it has been a great experience. My loved one feels comfortable here. I would recommend the Atria Park of Ann Arbor to anyone looking for a nice place for their loved one. It's a good place with friendly staff.

"Atria's Memory Care: Respectful, Engaging, and Well-Managed"
My mom has been at Atria for 2 weeks on the memory care floor, and I've been visiting unannounced every other day. They did a great job listening to my requests and remembering my mom's special needs. The aides have been fantastic at getting her involved in activities and helping her socialize, which is wonderful. She's been out to lunch, attended a ballgame, painted a picture, and even done karaoke to oldies it’s amazing how many residents knew the words to How Much Is That Doggie in the Window. Some aides have a real talent for working with dementia patients, while others are still learning but are cheerful and kind. I even attended a staff training with David Troxel, Atria’s expert on dementia care, and his “best friends” approach really made sense. I’ve tried to use some of his ideas with my mom. Out of all the places I visited, this one has shown the most respect for my mom’s needs and abilities. So far, I’m very pleased!

"Disorganized Facility; Overpriced Rates; Good Dog, Helpful Tips"
We didn't get anything on paper, like room sizes, but they tried charging us $6000 per month for a two-bedroom apartment with no kitchen - it didn't even cover any caregiving services. Way too pricey. Plus, the staff were all over the place. We did like the dog, Coco. The executive director pointed us to a good home healthcare agency, but it's just not what we were hoping for.”

"Mixed feelings about Atria: caring staff, cleanliness needs improvement, more activities wanted."
The folks at Atria seem to genuinely care about the folks living there. However, I'm a bit bummed about how clean things are kept. I reckon they could do a bit better with tidying up. Also, I reckon it'd be nice if they had more planned stuff for folks in the memory care unit to do.

"Friendly staff, happy choice"
This was one of our top three communities. They all seemed the same to us, so we let our loved one choose from them. She picked another place, but we would have been happy with any of them. This community has a really friendly staff and is really good.

"Lovely community but too expensive for our budget."
Sunrise was a bit too costly for us. However, it's a wonderful place with many nice features. The community looks very pretty and welcoming. As soon as we stepped inside, we were impressed. The starting price for level 3 care is $6,000, covering rent and some services. But for our loved one, we'd need extra services, which we couldn't afford. We wished we could have moved them here, but it wasn't financially possible for us.

"Comfortable Assisted Living with Pet-Friendly Amenities"
This place is really nice. Mom might like it here. They even allow dogs. The smallest one-bedroom companion facility costs over $3,000 per month. There's a reserved area for card games and socializing. They serve three meals restaurant-style. You can pay on a month-to-month basis. You can move between different apartments easily. It's in a convenient location.
