"Underwhelming Care at Assisted Living Facility Causes Deep Concern"
I'm highly upset about the level of care my family member is receiving. It's a lengthy list and it took them almost two weeks to provide the correct medications. She's been ill for a while and nobody seems to be looking after her. Why am I the one managing all this yet I'm paying a large sum of money every month? What if I was living far away and couldn't visit her? It's been a terrible experience, with no one responding, medical technicians hanging up the phone on me. There no one in charge and it seems like nobody cares about the residents. It gets me furious. They were told she was unwell a few days ago and here I am still calling to get her some help. There are two other options, but they don't seem any better. I like the place and the activities they provide, but the rest has been a disaster.

"Assisted Living Frustration"
My mom's been sick for three days, but the assisted living facility hasn't helped. They hung up on us when we called. It's really frustrating because they're so slow at solving problems.

"Highly Recommended Assisted Living!"
My family member lives at LakeHouse Three Rivers, and everything has been great. I'd suggest this place to others.

"Nice Staff, but Poor Care and Cleanliness"
We picked this community because it was close and had an immediate opening. Our first two choices in the Three Rivers area were full. The staff was friendly, but the care was terrible. They didn’t try to fix anything or explain why things were bad. They didn’t brush my mom's teeth or dentures for almost two weeks. Her laundry wasn't done, and they put her to bed in dirty clothes instead of a nightgown.

"Clean but Understaffed, Needs Better Diabetic Care & Meal Variety"
Bowman Place is super clean, which is great. But they’re having a tough time like many others because they don’t have enough staff. It would be better if they had more people to help out. The medical technicians should get more training, especially for taking care of people with diabetes. Also, it would be nice if there were more meal choices for folks who have to follow special diets.

"Generally satisfied; desire more activities for adult males."
We're generally happy. More activities for men would be nice.

"Lack of Consistency in Assisted Living"
They don’t have enough staff – they’ve had 4 or 5 different directors in the last 3 1/2 years. The aides, cooks, housekeepers, and nurse/care managers change quickly too. We thought the price and marketing promised better care, but it’s lacking.

"Caregivers and Food Fall Short at Assisted Living"
I’m not really happy with the staff who look after the people living here. The meals aren’t good at all. My family member told me they don’t give you enough to eat. Like, one evening, all they had for dinner was a salad and a tiny muffin. The folks running the place are alright to deal with, though.

"Lacks Care, Limited Communication, Not for Dependent Residents"
I think they don't care for the people living here enough. They communicate alright when I ask, but they don't reach out on their own. I wouldn't suggest this place unless your loved one can manage on their own.

"High Employee Turnover and Lousy Nursing at This Center"
They don't have enough staff, their employees leave all the time, and the nursing care is terrible. You should keep looking. There are a lot of places that are way better.

"Disappointing Care and Poor Admin at Bowman Place: Why Stay Away"
My mom was at Bowman Place for three years. Even though the aides who cared for her were friendly and she enjoyed their company, many things simply weren’t right there, especially in her last three months. One thing that stood out was the constant change in Executive Directors and nursing staff. This ever-revolving door situation says a lot about how things are run there and the overall work culture. During the final three months, Mom's dementia got worse. I called daily to check on her but the house nurse never once called me to talk about her or keep me in the loop. Furthermore, she didn't even communicate with Mom's doctor, a service that was part of the care plan we were paying for. To be fair, the aides did reach out to the doctor when needed. However, the nurse never once suggested we consider Bronson Paw Paw Neurological Unit or the in-house psychiatrists for Mom's worsening dementia. This lack of communication led to severe behavior problems and eventually, Mom had to be shifted to a more secure facility. This whole ordeal has been heartbreaking for me. Seeing my mom suffer was extremely difficult, especially knowing that much more could have been done to help her. Bowman Place also seems to have a problem with sticking to its own rules. For instance, the kitchen staff once left the kitchen doors unlocked, and Mom wandered into the nearby woods. They called 911, and luckily, they found her safe but cold and confused. The staff blamed Mom, even implying she could somehow use a butter knife to unlatch the door, which is absurd. Another time, another resident who needed help was ignored while all the aides partied in the kitchen. Without anyone in charge during the second and third shifts, I worry about what else might be going on unnoticed. Recently, a former employee's Facebook post suggested there was even abuse. If you'd like to see it, I took a screenshot and can share it. All in all, I suggest you keep looking if you need a place for a loved one. There are way better options out there.

"Clean place, staff responsive to noise concerns."
The place was clean and there were no complaints. My dad wanted some time alone from the caregivers. The staff tried to get him to join activities but didn’t give him the space he needed. It was getting really noisy. I liked that when I talked to the activity director, he took care of it.

"Same facility, different name, not recommended for memory care."
They changed the name from Bowman House to Bowman Place, but it's still the same place. Not good for people with memory problems.
