"Too Pricey for What You Get"
My family member used to live at Brookdale Ann Arbor. The place is very clean, and they care a lot about appearances. The staff is super friendly, but sometimes it feels a bit fake. Unfortunately, they don’t stick to a schedule for giving out medications, and they don’t respond well to questions about care. The marketing person oversold the place to us. On the bright side, the food is good, especially the desserts. However, they don’t do enough to encourage residents to participate in activities. When it comes to value for the cost, you’re paying for the location, not the care. It’s just too expensive.

"Welcoming despite challenges."
The move was challenging, but Brookdale Ann Arbor made me feel welcome.

"Mixed Experience: Friendly Staff, Inconsistent Service, Location Convenience"
Most of the workers are nice, act like pros, and seem like they care, but there’s at least one who's always mean and rude to our family member. When our family member asks for help, sometimes they get it quickly, but other times it takes forever. She likes how it looks and where it is, plus she can easily get rides to her doctors.

"The review highlights food, staff, and community."
The food is fancy, and there are lots of good choices. They're fixing up the place with new stuff. The main staff is great, but sometimes they miss things for each person. Activities are limited due to flu/Covid. The community vibe is better than bigger places.

"Enjoyable stay, supportive staff and friends at Brookdale Ann Harbor"
I stayed at Brookdale Ann Harbor for just 3 months. They helped me get ready to go home. The staff and management were really quick to help when I needed anything. I made lots of friends among the other people living there and the caregivers during my time there.

"Terrible Care and Broken Promises at Assisted Living Facility"
This place isn't doing their job! They say they are going to take care of their patients, that there will always be a nurse nearby. We trusted them with someone we love and it didn't go well. They didn't call the nurse when they should have. They say they take care of bathroom needs every few hours, but they were waiting seven to thirteen hours to do it! We had to put up a camera in the room to show them they weren't doing what they said! They couldn't argue with that. So we had to take my mom out of there. I wouldn't tell anyone to take their loved ones here.

"Quiet Assisted Living Tour, Few Residents Seen, Overall Positive Experience"
Our family visited the assisted living facility in person. The tour went okay, but it seemed empty like a ghost town. We didn't see many residents out and about.

"Quiet and friendly, but lacking activity and atmosphere we wanted."
Review: The place was super quiet. Everybody was nice. But, it felt kinda dull and not the vibe we wanted.

"Mediocre Care and Services at Overpriced Assisted Living Facility"
Really disappointed. My mom received memory care at this facility, but they didn't do anything to engage her mentally or physically. I constantly noticed that items were disappearing from her room. I feel the services provided were unacceptable considering the high cost. I even had to bring her meals because she disliked the food provided by the facility. I would never recommend this place for someone I care about.

"Concerns Raised About Staff and Prices at Brookdale Ann Arbor"
I visited Brookdale Ann Arbor and felt confused. I talked to someone who seemed really young. I didn't hold it against her, but I wasn't sure if she was even 18. This didn't make me confident in their program. The building was messy and it seemed like they didn't have enough workers. All the people living there were in one room with just one person watching over them. They have a community fee that you pay but it doesn't appear to be used for anything. I know other places have this fee and it makes sense considering what is included, but it didn't make sense at Brookdale. I visited a while ago and they might have improved since then. Brookdale is part of a big company, but something wasn't right at this facility and I couldn't tell what it was.

"Friendly Staff and Varied Options"
We thought the staff were nice, helpful, and accommodating. The place felt a bit dim, but there were plenty of options available. She was pleasant and considerate.

"Affordable but impressive assisted living with spacious accommodations."
This community was pretty big. It was super nice, well-kept, and really clean. It was easy for people with disabilities to get around. The staff seemed really nice and they treated the residents well. Outside, there were nice areas where people could hang out. We liked this place a lot, but it was too expensive for us.

"Pricey but clean with friendly staff and activities."
When we visited this community, I thought it was pretty good. It was clean and they had some fun things to do every day. The folks we talked to were friendly. But it cost more than we were planning to spend.

"Concerns Raised Over Assisted Living Facility's Operations"
I can't seem to find out if I'll get a bill before they take the money out automatically each month. I'm also worried that medications might not be getting handled right. The staff can be pretty slow to respond when the GPS button gets pressed. It feels like there's not enough staff around. My Mom's been there close to two weeks now and she's still having a hard time getting settled. Hopefully, things will improve as time goes on.

"Steer Clear of This Terrible Assisted Living Facility!"
Be careful! This place is a total rip-off. The management is simply awful. The current LPN makes the medicine techs do all her work. She won't even lay a hand on a resident. And they feel it's just fine to have only 2 Care Associates on the floor in Assisted Living. Care associates serve the residents, even if they just came out of another resident's room. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else. They think games like bingo and cards are enough for activities.

"Cozy and Welcoming Assisted Living Community"
We went to check out this place for someone in our family who needs care. Brookdale Place of Ann Arbor seemed really nice! It felt friendly, and they can take care of our family member's needs. We might choose it as our second option!

"Wonderful, Well-Equipped Assisted Living Facility"
I really liked Brookdale Place of Ann Arbor. The inside was very nice and looked like it was recently updated. The rehab room was well equipped, like in a real hospital. I showed up without an appointment, and they still made time for me.

"Avoid Brookdale of Ann Arbor: Overpriced and Underwhelming Service"
Our experience with Brookdale Place in Ann Arbor was nothing short of terrifying. After our first meeting, I couldn't shake off this creepy corporate kind of feeling. I assumed that they might try to make as much money as possible off us, but they ended up charging us far more than we initially thought. The staff seemed lazy, often just sitting and playing bingo with residents who were either too overwhelmed or tied to their wheelchairs. [removed]. The day he was transported to the hospital, he was not able to speak. But at the hospital, he began speaking full sentences to my husband. I must sadly say that the people at Brookdale came across as exploitative and terrible. I certainly won't recommend them to anyone.

"Warm Community for Seniors"
Brookdale Place offers a place where seniors can thrive comfortably. They have lots of services and activities like physical therapy, a beauty salon, and fun events every day. The staff really cares about the residents and their families. The building is nice and they handle any issues fast. Mom really enjoys the food there!

"Pleasant Director, Not Worth High Price and Small Rooms"
Assisted living" here is way too costly at $3200 each, for just a tiny room with barely any closet space and no kitchen in sight. The director is pleasant, but this place just doesn't work for us.

"Caring Staff, Communication Needs Improvement"
The people who run this place aren't very good at telling us what's happening. They don't keep us informed about changes or problems with our loved ones. It takes a lot of asking before they actually do something. But the staff who work directly with the residents are really great and take good care of them.

"Assisted Living Review: Staff Caring but Understaffed, Slow Response Times"
The folks at Brookdale Place are really nice, but sometimes there aren't enough of them around when we need help. Like after dinner, there's only one helper for 20 of us trying to use the restroom or go to bed. It can take forever, like 20 to 30 minutes, sometimes even 45, for them to come after we push the button. They're short-staffed when we need help the most. The helpers I've talked to want to work more, so it seems like a problem with scheduling. Also, I thought there would be a nurse here, but they only have med techs, who are like trained helpers. There's a nurse we can call, but none on site. And the food here? Not great, my loved one complains about it all the time.

Nice place, but I worry my dad might feel lost, lonely, and stuck in his room at the assisted living.
