"Mixed experience at assisted living facility with friendly staff and activities"
The staff is nice and talks to families. Activities are well-planned and enjoyable. The dining setup is confusing; there's no main café. Food is served in different places on different floors. This can be confusing for new residents. Staff needs to help with this. The food is okay. They serve homemade soup as an appetizer. The care is not consistent and not what was expected compared to other places. We had to hire extra help. They don't have Memory Care, so residents with dementia don't get the care they need. Some things that were promised were not delivered. Housekeeping and laundry are okay. The moving process was smooth. They let us move things in early. Staff helped new residents fit in. Management met with us two weeks after moving in to discuss issues and expectations.

"Great food and friendly staff!"
The staff is super friendly, but they need more help. Lots of fun activities for residents: happy hour, sundaes, bingo, movies, and field trips. The food is the highlight diverse options and alternatives if you're picky. The chef even chats with diners. Overall, a top-notch assisted living home.

"Dad’s Happy Place!"
We chose it because it’s smaller with fewer residents. My dad is really happy there, and I’d recommend it to others.

"Great food and caring staff at Brookdale Northville"
We’ve had a few small problems, but we’ve talked to the director and head nurse, and they really want to fix things. We really like the food; it’s tasty, and our family member enjoys living here. For other families searching for a good place for their loved ones, we recommend Brookdale Northville.

"Great staff and room, but prescription coordination needs improvement"
We chose this place because it had great ratings. They were offering a 25% discount on the monthly rent, and they had a really nice room available. The staff was very caring. However, there were some issues with getting the prescriptions sorted out. It started with the hospital not giving Brookdale the prescriptions ahead of time. Then, both the hospice nurse and the Brookdale nurse had to get approvals.

"Good impressions but not suitable due to floor plan limitations"
Brookdale Northville was really nice. We were very impressed with the place because it was very clean. The girl who showed us around was amazing. She gave us a lot of information and answered all our questions really well. The facility is smaller, which we liked, but it has 2 floors. We really needed something on just one level because our loved one has a hard time moving around. If it weren't for the floor plan, we would have been fine putting him here.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
I'm not happy. They said it would cost one thing, but now it's more. They're not doing what they said they would with the care. And it's tough to reach the staff when I have questions or worries.

"Friendly Staff and Clean Hospice Rooms"
Due to COVID restrictions, we couldn't tour the community or see our loved one's room. But when our loved one went on hospice, they set up a special room for family visits, and it was very clean. The staff members were friendly and accommodating. We think the value was good, and our loved one got good and appropriate care. She was on a liquid diet, so the meal services didn't really fit her needs, and because of her cognitive health, she couldn't join in the activities.

"Mixed Experience with Friendly Staff, Disappointing Food Choices"
Everyone we've met has been really nice. The only issue our family member had was with the food. They kept serving turkey sandwiches and hot dogs for weeks, which wasn't great. When we asked when it would change, no one could give us an answer.

"Concerns around gloomy atmosphere, wheelchair access, and uncertain pricing"
The facility feels sad and gloomy. It's filled with too many tight spaces and narrow corridors. It doesn't feel clean or inviting, and the staff isn't very enthusiastic. I'm worried that my mom, who uses a wheelchair, might end up getting stuck somewhere and forgotten. Also, their pricing isn't clear – there's a big, unexplained part of the care cost. I wouldn't think about choosing this place.

"A Nice Stay for Mom"
The respite stay for my mom went well. I loved the staff—they were absolutely wonderful. They handled my mom's behavior really well. She felt like she didn't fit in because she was younger than everyone else. But before she went home, she even got her nails done.

"Fast Response"
I’m really impressed with how quickly they responded when we needed to place my uncle. The staff is super helpful and kind during the transition. They keep me updated on his progress and any concerns. He likes the food, too. Right now, he’s not doing activities, but I hope that changes soon. Overall, I picked this community because of their fast response time—it was convenient.

"Incomplete Communication Diminishes Satisfaction"
We went to see if this place was right for my mom. The staff was nice and answered our questions, but not the boss. It was tidy and we had lunch, which was tasty. But we felt let down because we couldn't talk to the right person during the tour. This made us unsure about this place. Maybe others will have a better experience.

"Tour Guide Unaware of Appointment; Came Off as Rude"
When we visited Brookdale, things didn't go well. The person we planned to meet for the tour didn't know we were coming, so the one who showed us around seemed a bit rude. We all felt uncomfortable, so we decided not to choose this place.

"A Place Full of Caring Smiles"
I have so many good things to say about the staff here. Everyone works together to take care of the residents. They always smile when they come into my wife's room and when they greet us at meals. the management team are amazing. We really hit a home run finding Brookdale of Northville.

"Avoid Facility - Consider Other Options for Loved Ones"
You might think this place is great due to its affordable fees and services offered, but let me tell you otherwise. During their introduction speech, they'll promise you everything but once your loved one moves in, the truth unravels! Pay attention to how many new faces you see each week... they're not passing away, they're moving out! Medications are frequently confused and wrongly administered, and rooms are not kept clean – (my loved one endures a dirty room unless I clean it.). The shower hasn't been cleaned within the span my relative has lived there which is 2 years. The laundry service is haphazard, with clothes often being returned haphazardly folded (or tossed into a laundry basket) and sometimes ending up lost. The activities they provide are mostly dull. Rates rise 3-5% each year. The staff appears friendly, but it feels like it's all for show. If you have concerns about your loved one's well-being or spot something amiss, you're better off not questioning it as they might retaliate by threatening to expel your family member! TRUST ME! I strongly urge you to consider other options! I wish I could move my loved one out - they don't deserve such treatment.

"Brookdale Fails in Staffing, Care, and Informed Consent"
My relative lived at this place for a long time. It was clear they had problems keeping staff, especially the very crucial executive director role. (The recurring figure was the social director, and she did a good job.) A few executive directors showed competence; most, however, appeared detached. As a result, the quality of care fluctuated. For almost a full year there was no full-time executive director; instead, one stepped in part-time from another Brookdale location. But regardless of all these factors, you could always trust Brookdale to hike up the prices each year. But the most alarming issue was learning that, after my family member moved to another home, they had been heavily medicated with psychotropic drugs. No "informed consent" was ever given, meaning they never explained this type of medication in straightforward language. This was greatly unsettling. I trusted Brookdale with my loved one's care and now, until proven otherwise, I believe that trust was severely abused.

"Forced to relocate Dad due to lack of sufficient care."
Despite this place promising to look after my dad for his remaining years, we ended up having to switch to a communal home that could offer him, and anyone else with worsening dementia, the proper care needed. Plus, it was more affordable.

"Cozy Community with Friendly Staff"
The people showing us around were really nice and shared lots of helpful stuff about the place. The rooms felt kinda cramped for my dad and didn't have much space. Also, the building seemed like it could use some sprucing up, like fresh paint and new carpet.

"Warm and caring staff at Brookdale Northville made Mom comfortable."
My mom stayed at Brookdale Northville briefly before moving to hospice. The staff were super friendly and cooperated well with the hospice team. The place was always clean, and if we had to choose a place for her, it would definitely be here. On the first night, the activities director popped in, asked about Mom's interests, and even read to her for company.

"Unsteady Care and Uncommunicated Medication at Wynwood"
The quality of care at Wynwood has been all over the place. A lot of it depends on how good the Executive Director is at their job. Back when we had a family member there, this was often an issue. And after they left Wynwood, their doctor found out they'd been given a special kind of drug without our permission. (Turns out, it's called a psychotropic drug. That was new to us so we looked it up.) Apparently, they're supposed to get our okay to give these kinds of medicines. So, you should definitely ask the nurses and the doctor (who didn't really talk to us) about this if you're thinking of having a family member stay here.

"Flexible and Attentive Care: Wynwood of Northville Review"
Wynwood of Northville was super flexible with our short notice for respite care, which I thought was awesome. It would've been even better if they offered water to residents more often, but that's a small thing. Generally, everything went smoothly during our time there.

"Decent facility but needs flexibility and better communication"
I think Wynwood of Northville does a pretty good job overall. The place is kept nice and clean, and they offer good food and activities. But, there are a couple of things they could do better. First, they should be more flexible with my loved one's schedule. She doesn't like waking up early, and they haven't been very understanding about that. Also, they need to work on communicating better with families like ours.

"Welcoming Assisted Living: A Bright, Caring Environment for Mom"
This place is really nice. The people who work there are kind and helpful. The rooms and the places where you walk around have lots of light because there are big windows everywhere. They decorated everything so it looks really nice. They have different ways to take care of each person and things to do together as a group. The food they make is usually very yummy and looks good. The paths outside and how they made the garden is good too. My mom likes it there. Just be careful because sometimes they don't talk to each other very well.

We went to a few other places, but this one stood out. The people who work here are super nice and ready to lend a hand. Everything is kept really neat and tidy, which is great. And they're awesome at making sure my sister, who's pretty choosy about food, always has something tasty to eat.

"Cozy but under renovation. Lots of activities but pricey."
The assisted living facility is cozy but currently undergoing renovations, so it's hard to fully judge its appearance. However, it seems clean and well taken care of. There are plenty of activities available, but it appears to be more suitable for independent residents, and they might not have enough staff to handle extra care needs. Additionally, all services are offered "a la carte," which can be expensive.
