"Positive Experience with Convenient Visits and Good Food"

The staff here is really helpful. It's easy to visit whenever I want, no need for appointments. The food is great, mostly homecooked. They could offer more activities, but they do have weekly options.

"Caring staff, good communication, individualized care; very happy overall."

They’re very helpful if you have an issue. They listen and try to resolve it, always keeping you informed. The staff feels comfortable calling me and other family members to update us on our loved one. They write down any instructions I have and are very friendly with my mom, giving her little hugs and kisses. With the new Delta variant, they’re focused on keeping things safe for residents, staff, and visitors, requiring all guests to wear masks. It’s a warm place, and my mom has mostly settled in. They really seem to care about her. When they call, they start by saying 'Mom’s okay' before explaining the reason for the call. They’ve taken excellent care of her. Her legs, which were almost black from poor circulation, are much better now. They’ve also treated a wound from a fall so well that it’s almost healed. The smaller community means more individualized care and attention. The location is easy to get to, and I’m very happy with them overall.

"Not Ideal for the Aware"

The house is small and has old furniture. It's suitable for memory care residents who may not notice their surroundings.

"Limited Space, Outdated Furniture"

It's too cramped, and the furniture is really old. It might be fine for people with memory issues who don't notice their surroundings.

"Friendly Staff and Good Food"

It’s a nice place. The staff is super friendly and keeps their promises. My loved one enjoys the food, too. They’re always there when something happens.

"Friendly Staff and Improvements"

I believe they did well. I'd suggest them. They're fixing up and improving the place. The rooms and layout are good. I've only had one problem during her stay. The staff is mostly friendly.

"Not a Suitable Place for Men; Not a Fan of "Lockdown""

I didn't visit because [name removed] called. They don't have room for men, and they're not a "lockdown" place. I don't like that term; it sounds like a prison. Safe for wanderers, but not lockdown.

"Not Ideal for My Husband"

When I visited Drake Wood Manor, it seemed nice, but not quite right for my husband. The staff was friendly.

"Caring Staff, But Too Crowded and Unsafe for Wanderers"

The team at the home was super nice and made us feel welcome when we visited. They gave us lots of good info and took the time to explain things when we asked. But, there were just too many people living there for what I’m comfortable with. Plus, it’s not cool that there’s a busy street right next to it. My mom tends to walk off sometimes, and there’s no fence to stop her from going onto the road.

"Assisted Living Comfortable as Home: Mom Happy, Convenient Location, Reasonable Rates"

My Mom is doing well at Drake Wood. She fits in with the other residents. It feels like a cozy neighborhood home, with only 16 residents. The location is convenient for us. I believe they take good care of her, and their rates are affordable.

"Friendly Staff Encourages Engagement in Clean, Well-Kept Facility"

Our experience at Drake Wood Manor has been positive! The staff is friendly and encourages Mom to join activities and events she wouldn't do alone. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and offers plenty for residents.

"Disappointed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

My husband and I weren't happy. He fell thrice in three weeks. He had to leave. It cost too much and I couldn't afford it. They should have watched him better, especially since he falls often.

"Clean and Friendly, but Limited Staff at Night"

They're really nice and the place stays pretty clean. I'm not sure if they have enough staff at night; there's only one person on duty. She also seems to handle the cleaning. The food is all frozen meals like you'd get at a banquet, nothing homemade. But overall, the people are friendly.
