"Affordable Care with Compassionate Staff and Strong Leadership"
We chose this place because it offers good care at a fair price, and it has a special area for people with memory issues. The people who work here are really nice and always ready to help. The person in charge is doing a great job.

"Understaffed Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement"
I want others to know that CedarWoods doesn’t have enough staff. This is my biggest worry and where they need to do better. I can’t suggest this place until they hire more staff.

"Great staff and personal touch make CedarWoods a top choice"
We looked at a few assisted living places and picked three for my mom to visit. She ended up choosing CedarWoods. The staff is fantastic. They seem to remember everyone’s name, and within a few days, both the staff and other residents knew my mom's name, which was really nice. I would definitely suggest CedarWoods to other families.

"Great care, but email communication could be challenging for some."
My only problem is that they use email a lot, which is hard for people with a tremor. I would rather have them call me instead. Still, I definitely recommend them—and I have. When I visit my friend, everything is very clean: her clothes, her room, and her personal hygiene. She used to be very heavy and had restless legs, but now both issues are under control, which shows she's taking her medication as needed. I've noticed they give out fruit and crackers between meals and provide a lot of water twice a day, which impressed me. The staff seem friendly, talking to both her and me when I visit.

"Friendly staff and lots of activities in a small community"
This is a small community with friendly and caring staff. It feels pretty basic, but they do offer lots of activities. Residents can enjoy things like air shows, beach parties, outdoor dance parties, and more. There's always something happening for them to stay busy within their space.

"Caring Staff and Nice Gardens, Dad Enjoyed Food and Layout"
The staff at this place was really nice to my dad. They saw a bunch of doctors, and not all of them were great. My dad really liked the food. The way the community and the rooms were set up was good. There were two gardens that the residents could use, and my dad liked them.

"Affordable with Many Options, Great Tour, Dog Consideration Lacking"
This place seems like it could be affordable for taking care of my mom. They offer lots of different price choices. The tour was really good. I might choose this place for my mom. But I'm still searching for a place that can take care of her dog. There might not be any options for that here.

"Good Choice for Mom"
I think this place is great for my mom. Everything has gone well, and I feel comfortable with her being here. The staff takes good care of her. When I visit, her room is always tidy. They could improve the laundry area because clothes tend to get lost. More food options would be nice for the residents. They offer lots of activities. Overall, I’d recommend this community to friends—it’s working out well for us.

"Nice Tour, Friendly Staff, but Far Location"
We went for a tour at this place. Everything looked nice. The people working there were very nice and made us feel welcome. They answered all our questions and told us a lot of useful stuff. The place was very clean and tidy. But it was too far for us to go regularly. However, the tour was good.

"Avoid this place - Unwelcoming, Smelly, and Overpriced"
I wouldn't advise anyone to go here. It has a bad smell and doesn't feel friendly when you enter. The rooms are like school dorms, with two beds and only one window. The staff doesn't interact much with the people living there. Plus, they make you pay extra for the facility's features.

"Disappointed with Facility's Lack of Honesty and Care"
My husband's stay at this assisted living facility was short-lived. They admitted him despite knowing his medical history but suddenly expressed their inability to assist him after a short while. This lack of transparency from the start is frustrating given the difficulty in constantly moving him around. They provided no help with his memory care issues, leaving me quite upset with their management of his case. However, the shining light in all of this was the Dr. whose care was exceptional.

"Less Than Ideal Living Environment with Good Food"
The workers didn't really pay enough attention to my aunt and they couldn't give answers to all my questions. This place could really use a makeover and it isn't that clean. They do have a lot of activities for the people living there. My aunt liked the food and ate a lot.

This place is super clean and neat. The people who work here are really nice and happy to help you out. The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't much color and there were no carpets. It made the place feel a bit too plain and not cozy like a home.

"Dreadful Experience with Unprofessional Home for the Elderly"
My experience was really bad. The outdoor area was messy and the building was old and dreary. The person showing me around mentioned a resident who was sent to a ward outside the facility because of his behavior. But when he came back, he was still causing trouble. So, they just told his family they had to take him home right away. I think they should know how to handle these situations in a better way.

"Affordable and attentive care at Cedar Woods Assisted Living."
Overall, Cedar Woods Assisted Living is pretty good. The people who work there are nice and know what they're doing. They're also really helpful and can adjust to what you need. The place itself is clean and looks nice. Sometimes, though, they could do better at keeping in touch with families. Still, considering what you pay, you get top-notch service. "Affordable Yet Unsatisfactory Care at Cedar Woods"
We were really unhappy with how my dad, who had dementia, was treated at this assisted living facility. Even though he had a blood clot condition, it seemed like no one was watching his Coumadin levels as they should have. He wasn't even always getting his medication like he was supposed to! After only a week there, he choked and had to go to the hospital. He wound up in the hospital two more times after that. After his time at Cedar Woods, my dad wasn't really the same. I think the place was short on staff, and the workers there needed more training. They also didn't give us all his clothes back when he left. The cost was affordable, but it was a bad decision!

"Short Stay Results in Loss of Mom's Personal Items"
My mother stayed at this facility for a short 2-week period while my son and I traveled to Iowa to settle her matters. My mother isn't the easiest to handle, but the real issue was the loss of her clothes, even though they were clearly labeled. Her cane and spectacles had also vanished. We did manage to recover most of her clothing items and possibly her glasses. I'm not inclined to use this place again.

"Great Place, I Sleep Well Knowing Mom Is Cared For"
My mother lives at Cedar Woods, and I couldn't ask for a better place. The staff here are wonderful—loving, caring, and respectful. They always treat my mom with respect and dignity. Staff members like Sunni and Tywonda are polite and answer my questions, or follow up if they don’t know. It’s impressive to see how much the community has improved. The food is homemade, and the kitchen staff even offer me something to eat. The place always smells clean and fresh. Overall, I am very happy with Cedar Woods. I can sleep well knowing my mom is well cared for, and it's affordable too.

"Safe, clean facility with friendly staff; more activities desired."
This place is really nice and clean. The people who work here are all really nice and act very professional. It would be better if they had more stuff for the residents to do though. But what's most important is that my family member is safe and the place is clean. I'm happy because I know she's taken care of and she's happy here.

"They've managed well."
They have activities every day, but it's not very exciting because they do the same things all the time. The variety and quality of activities could be better. They don't have enough laundry staff, so it takes a while to get clothes back after washing. Sometimes, laundry goes missing. They gave me a plan for checking on someone regularly, but it doesn't always happen when it should. The head nursing assistant is quick to fix any problems. The place looks a bit like a hospital, and the show room has things that aren't actually provided. Considering the price and location, I don't have many complaints. The owner is always making changes and upgrades. The dinners aren't very good. On the whole, they've done a good job.

"Lackluster Exterior and Interior; Care Seems Subpar"
From the outside, this place wasn't attractive at all. It gave me the vibe of a rundown motel, which was unpleasant. I wasn't a fan, frankly. On the inside, the dislike continued. My gut told me that the ones living there probably weren't getting the proper care.

"Decent but uncertain pricing. Dominique House seems helpful but unsure."
The Dominique House sounds like a pretty good place to live, they seem nice and helpful. They offer memory care for a flat rate of $3,200, but they're not clear about how much it might cost in the future for my dad, it could be anywhere from $1,800 to $3,500.

"Clothing Mishap Mars Otherwise Excellent Respite Care Experience"
The care my mom received was really good. The only issue we had was when we left. We labeled all of her clothes, but they couldn't give them back to us. Almost half of them were missing. One of the nurses, who was about the same size as my mom, didn't realize she was just there for a short stay. She thought my mom was a new resident! It took the Cedar Woods staff about a whole week to find the rest of her things.

"Limited staff availability on holidays, friendly but not exceptional care"
I haven't been to other assisted living facilities, so I can't compare this one to others. The staff here is really nice and friendly. They try to help however they can, but I don't see them every day or even every week. Sometimes during holidays, there aren't enough staff around. Once, there was a mess in the hallway, and nobody was available to clean it up right away. The staff is friendly and tries to help quickly, but there aren't extra people around during holidays. On regular days, the care is good, and there are activities like bingo and church services. They've tried to add activities my mom suggested, but she still doesn't participate.

"Conveniently Lovely Assisted Living Falls Short for Transportation Needs"
This community is really nice and beautiful. It seemed like a great option for our family member, but unfortunately, it wouldn't work out because the transportation service doesn't reach here. So, they would have to find another way to go for appointments. Overall, it's a nice place and was one of our top three choices when we were looking around.

"Helpful and Communicative Staff"
My mom stayed there for about 2 weeks while we were on a month-long vacation, so I haven't been there recently and mostly talk to them on the phone. We needed a place quickly, and they were very helpful and worked with us on the costs to get my mom in. The people there seem really nice from what I've seen. Since I live 35 miles away and am on vacation, the doctor, psychiatrist, and occupational therapist have all called me. They do everything they can to keep me updated and communicate with me.

"Struggling Care Home: Great Nurses, Poor Management"
My pa stayed at this assisted living facility for about a year. The nursing staff was stellar and always came through when needed. However, the kitchen facility was sub-par at best. The food they prepared was so bad I wouldn't have given it to my pet. Also, despite the pictures, there were no table cloths. They had a habit of misplacing things which were clearly labeled, like glasses and even my dad's dentures. The head of the place was overly sweet and felt disingenuous as she was trying to woo us into bringing my dad here. I've found that she wasn't always honest and even some of the nursing staff disagreed with her methods, although they wouldn't voice these concerns due to job security worries. On my visit, she had her meal brought to her office and it was decked out with fancy dishes and a wine glass. However, what was served to the residents was nothing similar. She tried to convince me that this was the normal standard but that wasn't the case. I wouldn't advise anyone to put their loved ones here! The peculiar headquarters management means that only a supervisor can address issues or emergencies, which can take upwards of an hour. Additionally, the regular nurses aren't permitted to shave the residents; at times my dad went days without a shave forcing me to do it myself. Overall, this place requires you to wait for a supervisor during emergencies, but by the time they arrive, it may already be too late.' .
