"Terrible Care and Communication at Senior Home"

This senior care facility is just terrible. There's no communication and they really don't take care of the residents' hygiene. The man in charge, was pretty mean. Every time I'd go there we'd end up yelling at each other. When I asked about the medication for my family member, he had no clue. When I asked if he had been helping my family member walk around, he said he wasn't. All he seemed to care about was getting our money, but when my family member wasn't eating for a few days, he didn't bother to call us. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone else. Please keep looking for a better place to put your family member in.

"Mixed Feelings at Deering Street"

I visited Deering Street, and the tour was pleasant. However, most residents were bed-bound, which didn’t suit our needs for my loved one. Overall, it’s a nice place, but not the right fit.

"Care Home Struggles with Elderly Mom’s Needs"

This care home is really pretty and the folks are kind. But they just couldn’t look after my mom right. She’s 93, sharp as a tack, but can’t walk because she broke her thigh bone. In just four days, she got six big purple marks on her other leg and was hugged so tight by the guy who runs the place, she thought her ribs were busted. Some other workers, like his wife, their daughter-in-law, and a young guy, could move her easy peasy. But it was mostly the boss man who did it. When I had to rush her to the ER to check on her ribs, the boss told me she can’t come back. He said she was too much work and didn’t appreciate them. That left me scrambling to find her a new place when she got out of the ER. They gave me back the money for the month I paid ahead, but they took out the cash for the four days she stayed and what they owed to A Place For Mom. So, it wasn’t really free for us in the end…

"Care Home Falls Short for Dad"

The care home isn't an option anymore, and my dad doesn't like it.

"Owner's Bullying Leaves Bad Taste"

I liked some things about this place: friendly caregivers, well-treated patients, and good, homecooked food. But the owner was a bully. After my loved one passed away shortly after moving in, he insisted on keeping the money I paid for two whole months, even though we only used their service for a few days. Dealing with him was a huge ordeal, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. .

"Warm Atmosphere, Cluttered Rooms"

The assisted living facility had a warm atmosphere and nice rooms, although they were a bit cluttered. I was concerned about the large area rugs on most floors, which could be a safety issue for walkers. The owners were friendly, but the residents didn't eat together. There were two residences, but food preparation was done in only one. The facility was licensed, and the bathrooms were small but sunny. They accommodated my work schedule for visits, and there was one doctor visit per month.

"Caring staff, but limited activities and building concerns"

Sweet, caring couple, very hardworking. Worried about the two separate buildings and if Dad might get into things, like the kitchen. Also, didn't see any activities besides summer gardening.
