"Better Communication Needed for Assisted Living"
Staff should communicate better. A portal for employees and residents would provide peace of mind for families.

"Assisted Living Facility Excels in Service and Activities"
The staff is friendly and helpful, but they seem short-staffed. The facility itself is beautiful. Sometimes, it's difficult to get callbacks for inquiries. Medical issues are handled well, and there are plenty of enjoyable activities available. However, our relative prefers to stay in her room and has meals delivered, which sometimes affects the food's presentation when she opens the box, leading to dissatisfaction.

"“Great Care at American House Wyoming”"
We recommend American House Wyoming for your loved one. In just 9 weeks, they’ve taken great care of my mom on the secure Dementia wing of the third floor. We can rest easy at night. When we needed to find a place for Mom quickly, A Place for Mom did all the work for us. Within 48 hours, we had checked out the homes that could be her new residence.

"Assisted Living Experience Falls Short"
The time spent at the facility wasn't enjoyable for us. My mother-in-law didn't feel safe there and disliked it. Some family members made things worse by fueling her fears. I believed the place had potential, but we couldn't resolve the problems. I had worries about the care provided. Many problems seemed to originate from the management. Communication was very poor.

"American House lacking in care and staffing for special needs"
The bosses don't give enough support staff. Usually, there's only one person taking care of everyone during the weekend. The care and fun stuff they do is just not good enough for a place that's supposed to help with memory issues. The staff tries their hardest, but they can't give the right care to those with special needs. I wouldn't suggest this American House for memory care.

"Awful Bed Bug Infestation and Medication Mismanagement at American House"
Putting my mom in this place was our biggest mistake. For 17 months, we experienced nothing but problems. Bed bugs invaded in November, costing us a lot of money in furniture and removal fees, not to mention my mom's constant itching and discomfort. From the get-go, they were awful with her medication. They skipped doses, gave double doses, and falsely noted that they gave medications that they didn't. We went through 5 different Wellness Directors in our stay. Housekeeping was practically non-existent. The management is terrible. And to address their usual reply to these reviews, yes, it's American House at 5812 Village Dr in Wyoming.

"Friendly Staff and Spacious Apartments"
Initially, we faced medication problems that took longer than expected to resolve, especially with pain medication. The food quality is average. However, the staff is friendly and responsive, although the medicine dispensing issues were not promptly addressed. The apartments feature spacious windows and pleasant common areas on each floor.

"Neglected Residents and Poor Management at Assisted Living Home"
The cleanliness here is terrible—the dust is thick enough to write your name in. They transformed half the memory care unit into a place for COVID patients. You barely ever see the staff. The residents look untidy and they have to stay in their rooms all day; they hardly ever get taken out to the pretty courtyard garden because there just aren't enough caretakers. In the last five years, we've gone through seven different executive directors—the latest one just got fired. It's truly heartbreaking to see what keeps happening here. Although the aides do their best given the number of residents they're responsible for, the company and management should be held accountable. I wouldn’t advise anyone to entrust their loved ones to this facility.

"Bracket: "Dismal Experience with Uncaring Staff at Assisted Living Facility""
My family member was not clean. His clothes were always so dirty and he would wear the same outfit every day. They didn't call him by his name but by his room number. Once, they even brought me the wrong person and he sat for thirty minutes before they noticed their mistake. It was such a terrible occurrence. The cleaning staff could only come in every other week, apologizing for the state of the room. That seems crazy to me. The staff's interactions on their walkie talkies were often impolite. Some of them were kind and worked hard, but most of them did not. Frequently, when I needed help, I couldn't find any staff around. When I did locate them, they were often tucked away somewhere, just using their cell phones. The head manager behaved poorly, being quite rude and snobbish. They never showed compassion as they should have.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
This place is okay, but not great. The staff are nice and helpful, but sometimes things feel disorganized. The food is decent, but it could be better. The activities are alright, but they could use more variety. Overall, it's just okay, but there's room for improvement.

"Too Much Turnover, Lack of Care at This Assisted Living Facility"
Don't let the pretty building fool you, this place has serious problems. There's too much employee turnover, which is super stressful for the people living there. They can't build good relationships with the staff because new faces keep showing up and agency folks cover for those who just don't show. Instead of helping the residents, staff members often hide and mess around on their phones. The activities never change, even though nobody really goes to them. My grandpa moved to another place and he's so much happier now. This place seems more interested in money than in caring for people.

"Dismal Conditions Demand Immediate Action in Assisted Living Facility"
This assisted living facility is falling short. It's great for the fortunate few who can live independently, but not for those in the dementia unit or who require constant care. Safety and care are paramount for these individuals, and it's time the establishment's investors stepped in and invested in trained staff. Picture dementia residents being left alone in the dark, watching action films without a caring aide by their side. Unattended Alzheimer's patients is a glaring neglect of duty. Staff members are often clustered in groups of three or four when they should be engaging with residents. Such an environment doesn't foster resident-centered care. Inadequate communication from aides shows a lack in Alzheimer's care training. The poor upkeep, evident from the foul smelling corridors and untidy beds, isn’t basic care. After 4pm and during weekends, things seem even worse. Over time, you notice more vacant rooms on the third level. Immediate action is necessary!

"Dismal Care in Alzheimer's Unit at Upscale Care Facility"
At this care facility, you'll sometimes see good things happen, but the basic care isn't always at its best. I left from the 3rd floor one day when an older woman visiting shared her frustration with me in the elevator. She had found a friend from her church she was visiting in a state no one should be in, and her bathroom was a mess due to incontinence. This wasn't the first time for her friend to be found this way, a situation that I've also seen with my own person who lives there. The woman was clearly distressed, as she had found her friend in this same condition before and had even tried talking to the caregivers about it. These older folks need specialized care and it just doesn't seem like they're receiving it from enough trained staff, especially in the unit dedicated to those with Alzheimer's. When you come to visit your friends or family members, be sure to look at their rooms. If you often find them alone, with an unmade bed and no fresh water, it's probably safe to say they didn't get the best care that day. Those in charge - the representative, operations director, owner, and the management team - we care enough about our loved ones to leave this review. We chose this pricey home because we thought it would provide exceptional care, not substandard service. These residents deserve better than this.

"Improvements at Community Care Home, Social Interaction Lacking"
Over the past few weeks, there's been a bit of a positive shift in this elderly care home. Now, you can see more staff out and about, keeping an eye on residents. Beds are kept neater and they've got cool, filled hydration stations. Yet, they're still not bringing the residents out of their rooms to mingle or even just sit together in the many comfortable common areas. Writing a review here is crucial because it can help precipitate change. We appreciate this platform and others like it. It's urgent for many people who are too scared or unable to voice their concerns. It's important to continue keeping an eye on this place, particularly during the weekends, and always speak up about any issues to keep the management responsible.

"Declining Conditions at Assisted Living Home Need Improvement"
Unfortunately, this nursing home is getting progressively worse. They don't properly supervise the staff who are supposed to be taking care of old people. The bare minimum is done for the residents. That's why you find rooms closed and caregivers asleep, watching TV, or on their phones. I highly recommend visiting the place a lot, without warning, and especially on weekends, before you choose to put your family member here. When people leave reviews like this, the representative for First & Main asks you to talk to the executive director. However, the executive director claims that he can't make any improvements to the staff. There have been 5 executive directors in just over two years, and it's always the same excuse. You can't really hold the young, untrained, undisciplined, underpaid, and unsupervised aids responsible. Our only hope is a change of owners who will equip the executive director with what he needs to turn this assisted-living and memory-care home into the thriving community it ought to be.

"AVOID THIS SHAMEFUL CARE FACILITY!"
The staff here are unskilled and lack proper education. It's like they just pick random folks off the street. Employees are constantly calling out sick, leaving residents without care. The staff always blames the residents when problems arise, and it's up to the family to handle it because apparently, they have no experience or desire to help senior citizens. They act like they're doing us a huge favor by hosting our family member. Despite paying for all the promised services, you only get a tiny fraction of what you were promised. Don't expect any feedback. He will just say he's looking into the issue but never actually does anything about it. The care team leaders behave arrogantly and won't deal with even minor concerns, again passing the problem onto the family. This place is a total mess, and we're relieved to have relocated our family member from this catastrophe.

"Avoid This Facility: All Show, No Substance"
Do not trust this place with your family! The employees are terrible, they don't know how to do their job properly. Trying to locate an employee? Good luck, they're probably hiding in the employee communal area instead of helping the residents! This institution pretends to look good but fails terribly in its responsibilities. Stay clear from this place, it is a complete waste of your hard-earned money!

"Struggling with Inadequate Communication and Frequent Staff Changes"
There's ZERO communication here! The personnel cannot keep up. Most times, all I receive are promises like "I'll look into it" or "I'll ask someone else". Straight answers are incredibly scarce. To my knowledge, they've gone through at least 4-5 administrators. Employee turnover rate is high. I only trust a tiny handful of staff members. Getting a direct response or a phone call returned practically never happens! I've spoken to quite a few residents and they're dissatisfied. I've even observed numerous vacant rooms in just the past couple of months. Without a doubt, my dad will be leaving this place as soon as possible!

""Consistent Failures & Disappointments at Assisted Living Facility""
This place is pretty new and updated, and it has potential to be a great spot for older people to live. However, the fact is that the simple care they require and the opportunity for social interaction are often overlooked. The workers often don't come in, and there's a high turnover rate - they're frequently replaced. These employees lack the necessary skills for their jobs and don't receive adequate training. Not much social activity happens here, and a lot of the folks living here stick to their rooms even when things are planned. People living here, along with their families, complain about these problems, but the management doesn't seem to care about solving them. It's unfortunate, but even after two years, promises remain unfulfilled.

"Not Your Dream Team: Check Elsewhere for Robust Assisted Living Support"
This assisted living facility looks good, and if you don't need much help, it could be a good spot. But if you've got memory problems or need a lot of attention, I'd recommend looking for another place. Since they opened in 2015, they're already on their fourth head manager. The staff members come and go often, and the nurse team could use more professionalism in how they act and dress. The care they provide is decent, but not much more. This place could work if you're pretty independent. But if you want a dedicated, stellar staff, this isn't it. I'd strongly advise questioning the management team about care plans and activities for your loved one. You'll be let down by the 'executive team'.

"Disappointing experience, beautiful building but lackluster care."
My mother-in-law stayed in this place for two months. Our satisfaction with the staff was non-existent. Any time we had issues, it felt like we had to complain over and over to get any help. Even though the building looked nice, there were not enough workers, and no one really seemed to care.
