"Overpriced Facility With Unengaged Staff, Family Left Upset"
The workers here are awful. They're always on their phones instead of spending time with the residents. They don't even talk to us, the families. My family is so upset and letdown. After just two weeks, we've decided to move our mom to a different home. They charge a lot of money for this, and it's just not right.

"Better care but some issues with hospital visits and management"
Avalon provided better services and care compared to other places I looked at before moving my wife there. After a few weeks in memory care, I felt she was getting the support she needed. However, towards the end of her stay, she had to go to the hospital three times in a few weeks because of falls. I was disappointed to find out that no one from Avalon went with her to explain why she was there. Avalon would have received a 5-star rating if it weren’t for these issues. Additionally, their Care Manager left, which seemed to confuse the staff and caused a lack of direction and communication.

"Room for Improvement in Care and Activities"
It's nice on the outside and inside. But my loved one doesn't really get much care. I've asked them to remind her to brush her teeth, but her toothbrush always looks like it hasn't been touched in days. She wears the same clothes for days. They don't close the blinds for her at night. She's an easy dementia patient, and small things like that could make a big difference for her. But they don't do them. Their TV "programs" are just infomercials all day, not real shows. I'm not too pleased, especially for the price.

"Assisted Living Community Review: Not Quite Club Med"
This place is pretty good. The person who sells it makes it sound like it's super fancy, but it's not. The staff are starting to seem more sure of themselves, and they're getting better at helping out the people who live here.

"Friendly staff, nice community, but needs better callback communication"
The staff here is really friendly, but I think they could improve their communication, especially when it comes to returning calls. The community is very nice, and I would definitely suggest this place to others.

I'd recommend it as a nice place with good amenities. The staff is quick to help. They offer many activities for residents. The food was better than expected when I dined with my loved one.

"Unprepared Facility Leads to Family's Difficult Experience"
Our experience with First and Main Commerce Township was terrible. Initially, things looked good with the tour guide and we had a plan ready for a smooth move. But, it turned out the opposite when the facility wasn't ready with my dad's medication on our arrival. Within 24 hours, my dad had an emotional breakdown and we had to transfer him which was a big setback for our family. Then, the staff said I had to stay for two days without prior notice to be with my dad, and they made me sleep in the hallways which was really not okay. If things are normal, this place might be okay, but we just had a bad time here.
