"Mixed Feelings About Golden Orchards Assisted Living Facility"
I've been at Golden Orchards for eighteen months. I enjoy socializing and find the staff very friendly. Overall, I love living here and get along well with everyone. The TV reception could improve, especially during bad weather, and having a generator would be beneficial.

"Caring staff make a big difference in care"
Even though my father was at Golden Orchards for a short time, we were really impressed with both the facility and the staff. Everyone was very caring and concerned about the residents' well-being and safety. The manager, [name removed], went out of her way to make my father feel welcome and to ensure he had a positive experience. She even visited him during evenings and weekends when things were tough, making sure he was happy and comfortable. She was truly amazing.

"Golden Orchards: A Beautifully Kept Assisted Living Facility"
Having been to several assisted living facilities, I can honestly say that Golden Orchards stands out. The staff is like a close-knit family, and they care for each resident. The facility is well-maintained and sits on a beautiful piece of land. Among the facilities once owned by Meridian Senior Living, Golden Orchards is the nicest.

"Golden Orchards: Clean, Comfy, and Caring Assisted Living Option"
I really like Golden Orchards. The people who work there are nice and they keep everything clean and cozy. I feel good about leaving my family member there. There are some things they could do better, but overall it's a good choice.

"A Good Choice for Dad"
My dad is doing awesome and he really, really enjoys the community. He likes the things they do, hanging out with others, and just knowing there's help if he needs it. The only thing he doesn't like is the food. It's not southern enough and he wants more choices. I'd suggest it to my family and friends.

"Explore Other Options for Assisted Living Facilities"
This assisted living home is not satisfactory for your family members due to their false advertisements like home-cooked meals, which are usually not even served hot if you're lucky. I've faced numerous problems with the LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) who keeps trying to befriend my mother despite my continuous efforts to explain to my mom that this is not a friendship but a professional relationship. The facility often lacks staff supervision during confrontations between the residents. Recently, my father managed to get a hold of a fire extinguisher and sprayed a large portion of the facility. Subsequently, they advised him to seek reevaluation at another facility for 5-7 days, which surprisingly ended up in 16 days. On his scheduled discharge day, they informed my mother that he couldn't return. The social worker tried to reach them numerous times that day, but they didn't respond to her calls. had previously assured my mom for two weeks that he was welcomed back. However, they later told her she needed to pay for an additional 30 days due to the notice period mentioned in the contract she had signed. I strongly advise to look for a better, more trustworthy assisted living facility.

"Could Be Cleaner, Staff Shortages Noticeable"
Everything is okay, but the cleaning could improve. My mother-in-law's room needs better cleaning, especially the bathroom. We don't think it's up to our standards. The care here is okay. The staff are very good, but I noticed they don't have enough people working.

"Horrifying Experience at Golden Orchards Alzheimer's Facility"
My dad spent his last days at Golden Orchards, he had Alzheimer's and unfortunately, he didn't have a peaceful death. This facility brags about its Montesorri approach to patient care, but that wasn't beneficial in his final days. In fact, when it was suggested from a hospice worker that sedation could help make him more comfortable, Golden Orchards just ignored the suggestion and chose to leave my dad alone in his room. On several occasions, I saw them deal with my dad's agitated state by confining him to his room. He was restless and fell numerous times in a single day. They had promised alarms on his bed and wheelchair, but these were rendered useless without batteries. The food was very poor too. Once, they served a cold pork chop and a piece of bread. The facility was always notoriously short on staff, which resulted in personal items being "borrowed" by other residents. So, bringing any personal stuff to make your loved one comfortable is futile as it would probably be misplaced. My dad's pricey therapeutic shoes went missing within days of purchase. They made a lot of empty promises and never really got back to us. You shouldn't be swayed by the attractive facade of Golden Orchards. The care here was inadequate! They say only what you want to hear to engage you, then they simply don't deliver on those promises. They had told us that transportation would be provided for my mom to visit my dad but there was none. They also claimed to have skilled nursing services, but there was only one RN who was also the assistant director. They bragged about a variety of activities. But all of that was handled by a single person who had never worked as an activity coordinator before and was clearly untrained. Everyday, I was concerned about my dad's well-being as I could sense he was being neglected, if not mistreated. But, it’s recommended not to move Alzheimer's patients around too much which left us with little choice. Once you commit to Golden Orchards, you're stuck. I only wish that I could have moved my father before it was too late.

"Great care and helpful staff, but call backs can be slow"
The staff there have been very nice, and I wish I lived closer. I'm really impressed with the help on Sundays; they know how to get people to do things. Sometimes it bothers me when I call and don’t get a call back when I need information, but I understand they’re busy.
