"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Promised Care"

My dad's room was never cleaned. I talked to the director many times about my dad's care, but what she said didn't match what my dad experienced. They didn't take care of him like they said they would, and I had to remind them every day. He didn't even get a proper shower; they only gave him sponge baths for six weeks. Some of the staff were really nice, but others were lazy and mean.

"Horrible Care at Assisted Living Facility: Seek Help Elsewhere"

After a check-up at a nearby dementia clinic, they told me they'd be able to handle my wife's behavior problems. They didn't follow the medication instructions from Bronson Lakeview's team and on day one, they had her shipped to Bronson's ER following an issue with an underprepared staff member. The ER doctor reached out to me and told me she was calm and cooperating. They planned to return her to the facility. The next day, I discovered my wife sitting on the floor alone because no one had come to assist her that morning. The next morning, she was once again left alone in the dining area, trying to get food with her hands because no one was helping. They had also forgotten to give her her glasses. I gave them a month’s notice that day. Throughout her three week stay, she was bathed twice. I was told that I couldn't assist due to potential legal issues. This was supposed to be their best care unit for severe dementia patients. If your family member needs help, find another place!

"Dangerous Neglect and Low Quality Care at Assisted Living Facility"

New Friends/Vibrant Life is an absolute farce! They stop providing food after certain hours. Once the chef leaves, there's nothing left to eat except maybe a graham cracker. My father was in Lodge 2. He fell thrice, with each fall happening without any documented accounts. His neck even got fractured in three places! He was left on the floor, unnoticed, for an entire night. After his surgery, the lack of proper aftercare from the staff was glaringly apparent. The staff also lacks the training to handle dementia patients. It's shocking that there's no available nurse on the staff. The food is terrible! There's no coffee available! They don't even bother to check the residents in their rooms! I won't recommend anyone to put their loved one in this place!

"Great COVID Safety and Medicaid Acceptance!"

This place is like other places, but they take Medicaid. I’d recommend it to others. Their COVID plan is impressive, and they’ve done well keeping everyone safe.

"Disappointing Assisted Living Experience"

The rooms they give to the residents are just okay, like a three out of five. We wouldn't suggest this place to others. They recently increased our fees, and they misplaced our loved one's hearing aids, which we had to replace.

"Long Waiting List but Attentive Staff and Pleasant Facilities"

During our visit, my mom and I explored this place while searching for somewhere for my dad. It had a very long waiting list, and just to get on it cost $600. The staff was nice and always there to help, the place was pretty clean, and when someone needed help, they didn’t take long to respond. We saw the activity room and the dining hall, which seemed okay. They were almost like little houses; when we visited, people were outside enjoying the sunshine, which was nice.

"Mixed Feelings About New Friends Assisted Living"

I searched for a place for my mom and found New Friends. It was clean and nice, but there weren't many activities for her. During my search, I noticed my mom is more independent than most people in assisted living. I think it could be good for some folks, though.

"Great Assisted Living with Caring Staff and Fun Activities"

New Friends Memory Care & Assisted Living is a fantastic place. The staff really helps me during the tough times when I have to leave my dad, who often wants to go home. Recently, my dad and I enjoyed some live music they arranged, and it was amazing. He loves the story times with the staff and other residents, and they keep him busy with different projects, which helps him stay calm. The food is great, and my dad has never complained about it. However, it would be nice if there were more choices if he doesn’t like what’s on the menu. The place always smells clean and nice, and it feels warm and welcoming. They offer transportation for shopping and outings, and they make sure the residents get outside for fresh air every day. I’m really happy we chose this place for my dad.
