"Terrible experience; nurses ignored and disrespected, wouldn't recommend."
This place was awful for my granny. They always overlooked her needs and the nurses were really impolite. I won't be bringing anyone else from my family here. I would definitely advise against it.

"Absolute Neglect at Assisted Living Facility – Must be Closed"
This place should be closed up. My grandpa lived here, and let me tell you, the service is absolutely dreadful. The staff have bad attitudes, and no one's family member should have to deal with that. This place is all talk and no real action. I think someone really needs to report them to the health department because there's so much they're neglecting here.

"Room for Improvement in Assisted Living Facility"
My mom stayed at this assisted living facility for four weeks after breaking her hip. The physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech treatment were very good. The building looks nice, but unfortunately, it doesn't provide proper patient care. The staff is often unfriendly, unhelpful, and sometimes rude. I even had to search for help down the halls myself once. The nurses' responses were shocking, especially since I'm an RN myself. I found my mom alone in the dining room two days after her hip surgery, struggling to move. No one came to check on her. During her immediate post-op period, I spent two hours with her, and still, no one checked on her or brought ice for her hip. I left messages for upper management, but received no response. While I was told the non-licensed staff would assist with paperwork, appointments, and transportation, I ended up doing it all myself. The food was decent, and the nurse practitioners were helpful, but we never saw the MD. Nursing and staffing are consistently weak points in this facility. There's a lot of room for improvement, and I expected better. Overall, it's okay for a short stay if your loved one has good cognition and can communicate their needs.

"Decent Short-Term Care with Active Family Involvement"
If your loved one's mind is still somewhat sharp and it’s a temporary stay, this place is fine. The physical and occupational therapy is very good, the food is okay (which is great compared to other places), and the staff is friendly enough. My mom can press the red button all night long to make sure she gets the care she needs. Also, I’m there every day talking with aides, nurses, and admin staff. If my mom had serious cognitive issues, it was a long-term stay, or I couldn't visit almost daily, I would look elsewhere.

"Frustrated Visitor Complains About Novi Lakes' Lackluster Care"
I'm currently visiting my Godmother at this place. It's already 8:30 in the night and the nurse whose name I won't mention, who's on duty today, hasn't given my Godmother her meds yet. I went to check what was going on, and there she was, just chatting and playing with her phone. This isn't right at all! She has dementia and needs to stick to a routine. Tomorrow morning, I'm calling the boss, whose name I won't share here either. I'm very unhappy with this situation. There's barely any communication here. Please, don't bring your loved ones to this place! The staff here don't do much other than lazing around, they hardly communicate with the families and the care provided is just subpar. Luckily, my Godmother is only here at Novi Lakes for a short rehab stay.

"Unattended Wound Care May Risk Lives at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom might not make it because her surgery wound isn't receiving the right care. The on-site doctor is great and stresses the importance of keeping things clean and changing bandages but the staff just doesn't listen. Since this is now a matter of life or death, something needs to be done. I would advise against anyone choosing this assisted living home.

"Residents' Hygiene Needs Attention, Great Therapy and Office Service"
The people living there need more help with keeping clean. The therapy department is really good. The office staff is great too.
