"Overbearing Staff, Poor Communication Mar Assisted Living Experience"
I emphatically advise against entrusting a loved one to this other facility. There are some caring and competent staff members, but not nearly enough to gamble with a loved one's health and safety. My mom stayed at your facility from Thursday to Sunday, a total of 4 days. Over this time, she was cared for by a mix of staff, none of whom effectively communicated with us about her admission, established emergency contacts, or ensured proper care management. Furthermore, I observed a staff member on Saturday morning brusquely administering medication to my mom without explanation or confirmation of necessity, particularly for pain relief. When I interceded and gently suggested they first inform my mom what medication they were administering and inquire if she wished to take it, the staff member arrogantly rolled their eyeballs and stormed out with an escalated hostility. I attempted to address the issue with her privately, outside the room, but instead found her gossiping about me to another staff member. I simply reiterated that it is my mother's right to decide whether or not she wants to take the pain medication. On Sunday, it angered me to learn from the staff at 5pm that my mom was severely dehydrated and had a high temperature. Both my sister and brother had visited earlier in the day; why hadn't anyone notified them of mom's condition? I was far from impressed. When I raised issue with this, I was told to contact admissions, who wouldn't be available until Monday. Regrettably, we did not survive until Monday. It's a harsh reality that your facility is understaffed and can't provide adequate care for everyone.

"Unresponsive Leaders, Poor Hygiene and Inadequate Care at This Facility"
The leaders at this place are really bad. They don't act on the problems and requests they're given. Their lack of action and not teaching their staff right hurts their patients. I saw them ignore simple cleanliness rules for cleaning toilets. They also failed to get certain things approved by doctors. They also don't help their patients enough – not providing bathing, restroom help, safe drinking water, or even addressing medical problems. Stay away!!

"Great Weekend Daycare Option for Active Seniors!"
This assisted living facility offers a unique memory care option: weekend daycare on Saturdays or Sundays! With an activity director to lead clients in crafts, music, and other planned events, the new facility provides a pleasant separation between eating and creative spaces. They took excellent care of my active mom, ensuring timely medication administration. Highly recommended for caregivers seeking a day off.

"Good Looks and Food, But Poor Safety and Unkind Staff"
This assisted living place looks nice and the food is okay compared to others. However, the workers don't seem to be properly educated in taking care of those with memory issues - or at least not to the best standard. About 10 people living there fell over, and out of them, 2 even broke something. Also, somebody even died during that time. You should be careful because things aren't as good as they look. The workers act friendly, but trust me, they're anything but nice.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Mixed Experience with Oak Grove"
My mom stayed at Oak Grove. It's really clean and MOST of the staff were nice, but I have some worries. When she pressed the call button, it took 20 minutes for someone to answer. Also, they gave her heart medicine an hour late, which made her feel awful. Lastly, when she felt very sick and called my brother for help, a nurse yelled at her. Overall, not very impressed with Oak Grove.

"Attractive Facility's Staff Neglects and Mistreats Memory Care Residents"
Although the facility itself is quite attractive, the staff assigned to the memory care unit are poorly trained and lack proper supervision. They exhibit unacceptable behaviors such as belittling, disrespecting and ignoring certain residents in full view of the other residents and even the head nurse. Unfortunately, nurse [name removed] does not seem to take steps to address these issues. Instead, she only seems concerned about avoiding negative publicity and seems willing to hide all misdemeanors and wrongdoings.

"Lovely Place with Unfortunate Staff Conduct in Memory Care"
The place is gorgeous but the staff in the memory care unit need more training. There's no one supervising them properly. Some staff members poke fun at, insult, and shun residents they aren't fond of, even in front of the head nurse and other seniors. Nurse doesn't help the situation. He/she doesn't want the facility in a bad light and will go to great lengths to hide every negative incident.

"Orchard Grove: Broken Promises and Poor Care"
Orchard Grove seemed nice at first... it looks good, it's clean, and it's pretty new. But then we found out a lot of the things they told us when we first checked in weren't true. There's a really big communication problem. They tell you what you want to hear to get you to move in, but then they can't actually deliver what they promised. We've seen staff being unfair and even prejudiced towards the people living there. The staff also need more training. A lot of residents and staff have left. They kick out residents who have any kind of problems. We are paying more than $6,000 each month and they randomly hike up the price whenever they want, saying your family member needs extra care, which they use to get my family member to leave because they don't want to have to take care of them. They've tried to make us hire extra private nursing staff on top of their own staff, which makes me think they don't have enough people to properly take care of everyone. There are a few staff members who are really good, but they're not around all the time and they don't make up for the rest of the staff. I wouldn't tell anyone to go to this place.

"My Experience"
The food at this community is excellent, with a variety of menu options. The place is clean, and they organize daily activities. The caregivers do their best, but there aren't enough staff for personalized care. Unfortunately, there are no alarms in the memory care residents' chairs. Overall, it's a decent community.

"Knowledgeable and supportive guidance"
My consultant was extremely helpful. I appreciated that she had actually visited the different memory care centers in my area and could answer my questions. She also sent me information about Alzheimer's, which I found really useful. I was searching online for Alzheimer's information when I found "A Place For Mom." Getting help from the consultant was an unexpected pleasure.
