"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
We had a rough start when my mom moved in. The apartment wasn’t cleaned as promised. Billing is still a mess after two months. Housekeeping doesn’t dust, so I have to do it myself. Communication isn’t great—I often have to call multiple times. On the bright side, meals are delicious, and they handle dietary issues well. But I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re far away from your loved one.

"Frequent Staff Changes, Service Quality Drops"
The helpers here don’t stay long, and the good services we were told we’d get are getting worse. It’s hard to find breakfast or lunch because the food place is often shut down! The big company that runs this place doesn’t check on us much in Portage. If something happens at night, like when a lady fell and hurt her leg, it can take up to two hours for someone to take her to the hospital.

"StoryPoint: An Unreliable Home for Seniors"
An older person's time should be calm and carefree. That's not been the case for my mom though; serious issues have popped up after we signed the lease at StoryPoint. Their "wellness" section is dodgy and constantly going through changes. Workers are constantly coming and going. We're always left wondering who'll be there for my mom. The higher-ups never return calls or emails, making it hard to get straight answers. The Salon employees are plain mean. They don't pick up their phones or call back after listening to our messages. I visited the Salon myself after three failed attempts and got a rude treatment. I thought an in-house Salon would be convenient, but the ladies there just don't care enough, so I've had to bring my mom to a local salon. StoryPoint's sales rep only cared when I was still shopping around. After I signed the lease and had inquiries, she was nowhere to be found. I regret to say, I can't advise anyone to use StoryPoint for their loved ones.

"Fallout of Leadership, Compassion, Professionalism"
Getting the care my Dad deserved here was a real struggle. His need wasn't complex, but there were glaring issues with leadership, understanding, and professional behaviour. Dealing with such issues added heaps of stress. We tried to voice our issues with the staff, but all we got were excuses and roundabout answers. No one followed up on our plaints either via phone call or emails. My brother or sister ended up considering a legal case just to get what we had been paying extremely high rent for. This was way worse than simply not being acceptable.

"StoryPoint: Looks Dreamlike, Overlooks the Real Point"
StoryPoint, a place that sounds and looks almost magical. But, dreams can become nightmares and every story has a lesson. They talk a lot about going above and beyond for the people who matter the most-- the residents. This, sadly, is not true. They fall quite short of all that. I could say heaps more, but I'll just end with this. Every story has multiple sides. So, make sure you read everything carefully before you decide if it's real or just a fancy tale. Final word... StoryPoint, a place where everyone has a story, but folks seem to overlook the point.

"Storypoint: Pretty But Struggling with Quality and Safety"
Storypoint sure does look like one of the prettiest Senior Living Facilities, but it doesn't live up to its promises. As the kin of healthcare workers, having family there makes us worry. No matter if your kin folk are independent or need more assistance, they may face problems that aren't okay. Storypoint needs to make staff training a priority, from the helpers to the Head Director. Safety and good care should never be less than the best! It's time Storypoint listens to their residents and quickly acts on their worries.

"Headline: Family Worries Over Caregivers"
This place has way too many problems that really should have been resolved by now. They're dealing with multiple issues that need to be sorted out right away. The rent is not at all low-priced, and they need to fix these issues ASAP. The main problem is that the caretakers are too tired and don't seem to care enough. They're taking way too long to respond to emergencies. Families need to know their worries are being listened to, but they just aren't feeling like they are right now.

"Below Standard Pay, Chaos, and Lack of Proper Management"
This place seriously requires clean-up and problem solving. Management is unresponsive to any issues raised, showing no follow-up actions. It's disappointing because this place has potential to be wonderful, but the reality is it's completely chaotic. The staff's wages appear to be super low, even lower than what's typically seen in this industry, which likely causes the high number of staff leaving.

"Issues Abound at StoryPoint Portage: Terrible Service & Unfulfilled Promises"
StoryPoint is doing well at some locations, but the one in Portage isn't. As the folks living here, we're often ignored when we voice our concerns. The number of workers leaving this place is shocking. Don't businesses know that by paying a bit more per hour, they'd have happier, more loyal staff? StoryPoint promotes this idea of 1440, claiming every minute here is great. That's not true. Promises made before we signed the lease were never kept. The food is inconsistent. Dinner drags on because they hire kids from high school who don’t know how to serve. The shop that's supposed to have basics often has nothing. The organized activities are a chaotic mess. Movies fail to play and events get cancelled or practically don't happen. The people who take care of us are exhausted, fed up and generally unhappy. There aren't enough parking spots. Repair jobs take too long. The key fobs we have don't work well with the doors, and some doors still don't work. The folks running this place often say, “not my problem.” It's too bad because the building itself is decent (though it's of cheap quality).

"Costly but satisfactory assisted living facility, decent staff and amenities."
My mom and I visited here when we were searching for a place for my dad. It was a nice place, but it cost a lot. The staff seemed pretty good. The place was neat, and it had everything we wanted. They showed us the activity room, but no one was there when we toured, so I'm not sure what they offer. However, they gave me a list to check out, so there must be things to do there. We ended up choosing a different community because of the cost.

"This home is perfect!"
StoryPoint is amazing! My mom loves it there. She stays in the enhanced living area, and the staff takes excellent care of her. They're easy to talk to, provide great care, and quickly address our concerns. The food is fantastic! The dining room offers many menu choices, and the tables always have flowers. Worried about her getting around, someone assisted her initially, and now she knows her way. The facility is super clean—daily waste basket emptying, sweeping, and even dishwashing. Plus, they have tons of activities like exercise classes, music, games, and a movie theater. StoryPoint is unbeatable for the price. I

"Promising New Assisted Living Facility Striving for Improvement"
This new place has some ups and downs, but it could turn out really good. The people who work here are friendly and helpful, which I appreciate. But, I'm worried because there's no one in charge at night, and when I tried to call after hours, no one picked up. Plus, the staff, even the maintenance folks, don't know how to work the TVs, so the residents can't watch anything. They've got good security, but they need to work on it a bit more at night. They do offer some activities, which my mom enjoys.

"New Community, Friendly Staff, Lacks Advanced Dementia Training"
This new community, opened in May, is lovely. They have some activities for memory care residents, and the staff is nice. But I worry that the caregivers might not be fully trained for advanced Dementia. They didn't have a family meeting to update us on our loved one. If you're considering this place, be sure to ask plenty of questions.

"Beautiful but Too Big and Pricey"
StoryPoint Portage was a really nice place to visit. It’s a very beautiful community. The staff was friendly and knew a lot, and they answered all our questions. It felt a bit too much like a big institution for us. We were also looking for a smaller place, and this one was too large and too expensive for our budget.
