"Negligent Care and Poor Management at Sunrise of Cascade"
I definitely wouldn't suggest Sunrise of Cascade for your loved ones. My mom lived there and got so badly injured on her wrist by one of the helpers that she couldn't move her arm. She had been waiting for help for over an hour and when I went to find the aid who was supposed to be helping her, she was busy talking to another aide. When I asked her about my mom, she went to her room. Next day, my mom found her arm unmovable with bruising and swelling. When I communicated this to the director, she actually sided with the girl! There was one time when I found my mom asleep during winter with her window wide open. She was repeatedly overlooked for her meals. We moved her out as soon as we could.

"Caring Staff and Safe, Homelike Facility"
My dad, who’s 90, stayed at this place after he hurt his ankle. He needs help with his daily stuff and sometimes forgets things because of his mild dementia. The people working there were super nice and looked after him well. When he couldn’t use his phone, I’d call the main desk, and they’d get me on the line with him. The meals were pretty good too. The head nurse was awesome—she kept my dad safe when there was some family drama. The place feels just like home and it’s really nice. Sometimes it took a while for someone to come when he pressed the call button, but that was during the Covid lockdown, so I get that it was hard to have enough staff.

The workers try their hardest even with fewer workers. The boss is great. In the Alzheimer's section, a few workers stand out as exceptional.

"Concerning Patient Care and Ethics at Sunrise of Cascade"
I usually avoid writing reviews, but I feel it's necessary after my experience at Sunrise of Cascade, which is more focused on profits than patient care. Before you agree to their services, I urge you to read the most recent customer reviews. Sunrise of Cascade seemed like a great place for my dad – it was new, dog-friendly, and had fancy facilities, but the care fell seriously short. I want to share what we experienced during and after my dad's stay there as I think you should be aware of these issues before entrusting your loved ones with them. who manages the place seems more focused on money than patient care. We overheard her celebrating a $20,000 deal with some of her office staff, which made us really uncomfortable. Misleading communication from the staff is a common thing there; they tend to tell you everything's fine even when it’s not. We had to remove my father from Sunrise of Cascade due to five serious problems: 1. Unexplained cuts: Dad had five scratch-like cuts on his forearm, and nobody told us anything about how it happened. 2. Security issues: Staff warned us about a sexual harasser on site while we were visiting. The fact that they've never warned other families is concerning. 3. Poor communication and elder abuse: On one occasion, a staff member purposely took away my dad's walker, which led to his falling over. We discovered this fact through a third-party service provider, as the facility didn’t report it to us. 4. Lack of basic care: My father was sent to the hospital because of an untreated fever. We learned about his hospital admission a day later, even though his symptoms, including a lack of appetite, not urinating, and a high temperature, showed an urgent health issue. 5. Breaches of a tenant lease: Despite our agreement with them about the departure terms, Sunrise entered my dad’s room before the tenancy ended and left his belongings lying around where anyone could access them. As a result, we lost some valuable items. In short, the experience was terrible, and I cannot recommend Sunrise of Cascade due to their poor care and huge focus on making profits. If you care about your loved ones, do your research and learn from the reviews shared by others before sending them there.

"H"Negligence, Dishonesty and Safety Concerns at Sunrise Senior Living""
I typically don't write reviews, but I feel it's crucial to share my experience with this senior care facility, Sunrise of Cascade, which seemed more preoccupied with profits than the well-being of their elderly patients. I'd advise that you review recent customer feedback to make an opinion about their services. I share the dissatisfaction others have voiced about the level of care provided here. Despite being a new facility that allows pets, many issues surfaced during and after our use of their services. It's concerning hearing from others who've expressed serious concerns. The Director at Sunrise, whose name I've omitted, seemed more interested in finances than patient care. I heard her celebrate a $20,000 per month care package deal with her staff. Despite their assurances that "everything is going fine", this wasn't the case, and they attempted to cover up questionable incidents. We settled on moving my father out of Sunrise for five key reasons: 1. Unexplained injuries: My father had five fingernail-like scratches on his forearm which were never explained or addressed. This level of injury is utterly unacceptable. 2. Safety concerns: Staff informed us of a sexual predator at the premises, known for inappropriate actions. Shockingly, this alarming news was not communicated to families. 3. Poor communication: A staff member pull out my father's walker, resulting in a fall. Troublingly, we only learned of this from another service provider. This concealment borders on elder abuse. 4. Neglected care: My father was hospitalized due to Sunrise's neglect in recognizing a severe change in his condition. Despite experiencing high fever and signs of illness, no immediate contact or action was carried out, despite the hefty monthly fees. 5. Tenancy violation: Despite being willing to move out earlier if the room was needed by new tenants (providing we received a prorated refund), Sunrise disregarded our agreement. They get rid of all of my father's belongings without our knowledge, leaving them in public spaces, prompting loss and theft. My father's experience at Sunrise was deeply upsetting. I urge any potential residents to thoroughly examine others' experiences to prevent a similar distressing situation from befalling their loved ones.

"Not Ideal for Active Seniors Great Staff and Facility"
The staff and facility were really nice, but it didn't seem like the right place for my dad. The people there are much older, and the activities like Bingo and card games are geared towards them. My dad is more active and would need something different. The rooms were nice, and the high ceilings made it feel less cramped than other places. I liked that the residents have the same caregivers every day. But overall, I just don't think this community is the right fit for my dad.

"Elderly neglected while Sunrise of Cascade staff neglect duties."
I've visited this place many times to see relatives and pals. I've watched as folks living there have to wait so long for the staff to help them, like when they need to go to the bathroom or something. Sometimes, they pull their help cords and wait over 45 minutes for a staff person to come. I've seen relatives looking everywhere for someone to assist their loved ones and finding no one. Too often, the staff members are outside together, on "smoke breaks," just chatting with each other while the elderly folks need help inside. It's totally not okay, especially with the giant costs that Sunrise of Cascade bills its residents for care. [Removed], you need to fix this quickly or else you might end up being visited or investigated by the state business licensing office and the local care home oversight person. Remember, those who care about your residents are watching everything happening in your place closely.

"Extreme Neglect at Assisted Living - Fix Needed Now!"
I've been to this place several times to visit people I know. It's really bad how long residents have to wait for help, even with simple stuff like using the bathroom. I've seen them pull their help cords and sometimes wait over 45 minutes for somebody to come. I've even seen families running around looking for a staff member who can help, but they're often all outside taking breaks and ignoring the needs of the people they're supposed to care for. This is totally not okay, especially considering how much Sunrise of Cascade charges for their services. You really need to fix this problem, unless you want the state licensing agency and local seniors' advocate to come poking around. Just know that we're all keeping a close eye on things here.

""Nightmare Living: Harsh Staff, Barely Any Fun, Beware The Care""
The people working here barely talk to you, and when they do, they’re mean and handle the residents quite roughly. When I first looked around, it seemed like a great place. But once you actually live there, it's like living a bad dream. They advertise fun activities but truth be told, they rarely hold them. Some meals were okay, but some looked like something you would feed to a pet dog. And watch out especially if your loved ones need help with memory problems.

"Great care and communication bring peace of mind for Mom's comfort"
When our mom first arrived, she needed a lot of care. Sunrise did a fantastic job in a short time, making sure all her needs were taken care of. They even went the extra mile to help us arrange Hospice care and find care for our mom's cherished dog. We’re so thankful and at ease knowing our mom is well taken care of. We visit at different times throughout the day and are always happy to see how well she’s doing. The clear and open communication with the care and management staff really makes a difference.

"Great choice so far, with room for minor improvements"
We’re happy with our choice so far. The food could use some improvement, and they could communicate more about how care is going. We picked this place over others because of its nice atmosphere. The residents are active and not just stuck in their rooms, and the care seems a bit better here.

"Sunrise: Lack of stimulation, poor transparency and low care levels"
First off, it's important to establish that my mom has a particularly challenging kind of Alzheimer's, characterized by a lot of anger and aggression. Sadly, Mom didn't quite settle in well at Sunrise as we hoped, and we had to relocate her after a mere 3 months. My biggest disappointment was the obvious lack of engaging activities for the folks in the memory care section. Despite our numerous attempts to keep up with our mom’s condition, the staff at Sunrise were not forthcoming. Surprisingly, they advertise on their website that their staff uses Validation techniques for Alzheimer's residents, yet none of the staff seemed familiar with this. The last straw was when Mom got into a skirmish with another resident, resulting in a kick to her leg that later got severely infected. Instead of taking responsibility, the staff blamed Mom for removing her bandages which led to her hospitalization due to the major leg wound. If your loved one has Alzheimer's but is okay with a dull, activity-less lifestyle, Sunrise may be an option. But if that isn't the case, I suggest seeking alternatives.

"A Great New Home for Mom"
After we contacted A Place for Mom, someone from Sunrise of Cascade got in touch with us quickly and offered a tour. We needed to see if it was the right place for our mom, who has dementia and can't stay in her senior apartment anymore. We thought Sunrise of Cascade was perfect for her. She would be safe and, most importantly, happy. It's been tough for her to leave her friends, but her condition is getting worse, and we know she'll come to like this new home.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Warm Atmosphere, Thoughtful Amenities"
This place is really happy, and the doors are open. They were having tea time when we visited, and everyone was friendly. The residents looked like they were having fun making jewelry. There are lots of bird feeders and flowers. We liked that they offer special packages for people with low vision, which no one else mentioned to us. Also, meal times were more flexible here.
