"Improved Staff and Care, Minor Meal Concerns at Arbor Inn"

"Our mother has been at Arbor Inn for 1.5 years, and in the last 4 months, we've noticed a significant improvement in staff attentiveness and kindness. Despite the challenges post-COVID, Arbor Inn efficiently addresses any issues, which we've seen reflected in our mother's experience. Communication and medical attention, especially from the unit clerk and current director of nursing, have been exceptional. The only complaint from our mom and her friends is occasional missing items like milk for cereal or dissatisfaction with taste in meals. Overall, we are very pleased with the care, communication, and love our mother receives at Arbor Inn. We deeply appreciate the staff and their dedication."

"Cozy Home Vibes at Arbor Inn!"

Hey, I've been living at Arbor Inn since 2019. The staff is super nice and helpful. If you need anything, they'll make sure you get it. Lots of people here have become friends. If you're a senior looking for a cozy, family-friendly place, give Arbor Inn a call. It feels just like home.

"Good Facility, Needs Better Fall Prevention"

The place was clean, and talking to the staff was nice. The food got a thumbs up from my family member. We chose this spot because it’s not far from us and didn’t cost too much. But they’ve got to make sure folks don’t fall down. It seems best for those who can do most things by themselves. It bummed us out that our family member fell a lot. They needed more care than what was available there.

"Affordable and Convenient Assisted Living with Some Staffing Challenges"

We picked Arbor Inn because it fit our budget and was conveniently located for us. Like many places, there are some turnover issues with staff here too. Overall, we've had a good experience and would recommend it to others.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

The food is often cold and sometimes overcooked, with limited choices. The activities program is lacking due to staffing issues. We had to take the initiative to get our loved one tested for Covid when they showed symptoms. Overall, the staff is friendly, but we did encounter an issue with dirty sheets.

"Great Activities and Social Dining for Residents"

I would recommend this place for you or your loved one. They have fun activities like ice cream socials and more, but my loved one hasn’t joined in much yet. It looks like there are about four or five things to do each day to keep the residents busy and active. My loved one is still getting used to it, and I think it’s great that meals are in the dining room so he can meet more people.

"Good tour, but location led us to a closer place"

We had a nice visit to The Arbor Inn. The location was the most important thing for us, so we picked a place closer to where we live.

"Helpful Tour Guide and Good Community"

The tour guide sat with us and discussed what we needed and where my loved one was at that time. They gave us suggestions for other places to get the best care. This is a good community.

"Good tour, but bedrooms lack kitchenettes and have single beds"

Our family visited and we liked what the staff showed us. However, the bedrooms only had one bed each and didn’t have a small kitchen like an apartment would.

"Mixed Experience at Arbor Inn Assisted Living Facility"

The Arbor Inn is pretty good for someone who can move around and take care of themselves. When I was checking out other places, they all had the same problems with the rules from Michigan’s government, like lockdowns and limits on family visits. They've been okay at keeping us informed during Covid. They've had some problems with staff leaving and training new ones, and there aren't enough staff for the number of people living there, which is about one staff member for every 16 residents. That seems low for the needs of my loved one. Eating from Styrofoam containers with plastic forks instead of using real plates and silverware makes a big difference. Covid really hurt the dining experience since everyone had to stay in their rooms. If things like eating together, doing activities, and visiting slowly get back to normal, it could be a good place to think about for your loved ones. It's a good deal for what you pay, as long as your loved one can take care of themselves pretty well.

"Affordable, But Cramped Assisted Living Space"

The living spaces are pretty tight, measuring either 16 feet by 12 feet or 14 feet by 11 feet. There’s hardly enough space to fit a recliner chair. The cost is lower, probably because the rooms aren’t big. What you get is a compact bedroom along with a bathroom. However, the price does cover all your needs. This includes cleaning services, medication management, all the utility bills, and three meals a day.

"Mixed Experience with Assisted Living: Fits Budget, Some Issues"

This place works for my mom's budget and is super close to her family and friends. It has everything she needs. There were a few problems, but they fixed them right away. Everyone here loves the food. I'm not sure yet how good they are at taking care of the residents. So far, it's okay.

"Affordable and Friendly: Arbor Inn Review"

My sister visited Arbor Inn when we were searching for a place with a flexible smoking policy for our 80-year-old mom. Arbor Inn met that need. The rooms are small, but the price is lower than newer places. Everyone was friendly. If you want an affordable studio setup, check out Arbor Inn. Note: We didn’t choose it due to our mom’s changing needs, but it was a top contender.

"Steer Clear: Terrible Senior Living Facility."

This place is awful. It feels like an old-school senior living place from 1950. My dad stayed there for a few months and was always griping about the staff and the meals. His money got a couple times. Then, he had a run-in with the head nurse and they kicked him out. They did this right during Christmas! So considerate. We had one month to get him a new home. Don't put someone you love through living here.

"Mom Adjusts to The Arbor Inn"

My mom is still adjusting to life at The Arbor Inn, but the staff is helping her. Right now, she's not participating in activities or special events—maybe it's too early for her. The community is well-maintained and pleasant.

"Perfect Place for Dad!"

The Arbor Inn is a lovely smaller community. It's a great fit for my Dad. I think a bigger place would be too much for him. It's very clean and well-kept. The staff is super friendly and caring. I've eaten with Dad, and the food is pretty good! I had the Philly Cheese steak and was pleasantly surprised. When Dad first got there, he needed his food pureed, but now he enjoys regular meals. The Arbor Inn is very welcoming for families to visit. They have activities and try to get residents to join in. My Dad is more of an introvert. They recently had an ice cream social, and we all went downstairs to enjoy it. They have two outdoor courtyards with sitting areas where residents can enjoy the outdoors.

"Helpful Staff, Delicious Food"

The workers are always there to assist, and the meals are tasty.

"Avoid This Facility If You Need Actual Assistance."

My dad lived here, and the smell is the first thing you notice when you walk in. I visited him a lot, and each time, his urinal was just sitting next to his bed, filled to the brim, like it had been ignored for quite a while. He gave up on walking because no one would accompany him to the dining area. The rooms are crammed and the bathrooms have to be used by four people. My dad fell over, got a sore that wasn't managed well, and due to the neglect, he developed a serious infection that lead to his death. This facility might be fine if you can take care of yourself, but it's obvious that many there can't, as they just lay in their beds (some even shouting for help). I know assisted living facilities, having worked in them for years, and this one just offers mediocre service. I'd suggest finding another place if you need any sort of care.

"Warm Hearts, Great Care"

This place might not be super fancy, but it’s filled with love! The people who work here are awesome at helping my mom feel special. The food’s really tasty, and she always has friends to hang out with. I’d totally tell people to check this place out!

"Mixed Experience with Older Assisted Living Facility"

The place rates about a four. Mom's not enjoying it much, so it's hard to rate. She doesn't like the food; they're using a catering service since their kitchen's closed. The building's old and needs sprucing up. Mom finds it gloomy, probably because of the fluorescent lights. It offers a higher level of care, almost like a nursing home.

"Awful Assisted Living Facility Neglects and Mistreats Patients"

This place is terrible, in my opinion. The staff seems friendly at first but that's just because they want your money. After they've caught you, they don't seem to care anymore. My mom was supposedly getting their Level 2 care when she was there, but she ended up in the emergency room twice for dehydration and not eating enough. We were supposedly paying extra for assistance with eating, bathing, getting to meals, and laundry once a week, but they didn't do ANYTHING. They let my mom lie in bed all day, which is probably why she became dehydrated and malnourished. The place we moved her to after this were shocked at how bad her condition was. The Arbor Inn let her health get to a very bad point. I would give this place less than zero stars if I could. I have more complaints, but I have to stop now because my football game is about to start. This is just my experience with this place, yours might be different. But, if I were you, I'd keep your family away from this facility. That's just my two cents!

"Quality Care and Amenities for Mom's Comfort"

I believe this assisted living facility is quite good, providing an acceptable level of care. The upkeep of the place is excellent; it's clean and nicely decorated. They even have a beauty shop, which my mom loves, and they conveniently charge it to her room. Mom really appreciates the staff here; they're friendly and helpful. The cost is just right for us; it's not extravagant, but it gets the job done. Mom enjoys the meals they serve; that's her favorite part. Plus, they offer activities like bingo, a library, and outings. They're also great at keeping us informed and providing various services and options.

"Attentive staff, spotless environment—excellent care at assisted living community"

This place is really nice, and the people who work here are awesome. They always let me know what my loved one needs and how they're doing. Plus, everything is always super clean—I've never had any issues with cleanliness

"Rude head nurse dominating assisted living facility"

The helpers were okay, but the main nurse woman was unfriendly. It was either do her way or no way.

"Great place for my mom with friendly staff and fun activities!"

The staff here are friendly and get to know my mom well. They work with our family to make sure my mom is happy. I tasted the food at a picnic, and it was pretty good. They have lots of activities like games, bingo, movies, and exercise classes every day. The place is clean, and I would recommend it.

"Unpleasant Attitude from the Nurse Not Liked"

The nurse at this assisted living facility really seemed to have a poor attitude, which I disliked.

"Highly Recommended Assisted Living: Clean, Caring, and Fabulous!"

My mom had a tough start moving here, but now she's doing great. The place is super nice, always clean, and the staff are fantastic. They take really good care of her, and I feel good knowing she's in good hands. I'd definitely tell others to check it out!

"Affordable Option, Lacks Homey Feel - Decent Plan B"

The cost was okay for us. It felt more like a big facility than a cozy place, which isn’t really what we want, but it’s alright to keep in mind just in case.

"Assisted Living Review: Arbor Inn"

The Arbor Inn is a nice place, but not ideal for my loved one's needs. It's clean and staff are friendly, but too big for those with memory problems.

"A Pleasant Visit to The Arbor Inn"

I visited The Arbor Inn during my tour, and I liked it. While it wasn’t my absolute favorite, it was nice, and I enjoyed my time there.

"Food Quality Needs Improvement"

My relative often complains that the food isn't warm enough. Could they use plate covers to keep it hot? It's crucial for the main meals to be served hot when they mean so much. The staff are great and the place is okay.

"Wonderful Facility with Great Support and Activities"

I wasn't sure how to use the graph bars, so I didn’t give the highest mark. But they've been incredibly helpful, working hard to keep my sister’s costs down. Everyone here is kind, supportive, and encouraging, which has meant a lot since I was feeling overwhelmed trying to set up her care. The facility is beautiful and spotless. They offer plenty of social activities and chances for my sister to interact with other residents. Her health issues are being handled very well by the staff and doctors. This has made my life much easier and saved me from making weekly trips across town for her doctor’s visits. Overall, I'm very impressed and relieved by all their help.

"Adequate Facility, But Staffing and Space Raise Concerns"

The facility is alright, but the rooms seem kind of cramped, especially when there’s another person sharing the space. There’s a good number of folks living here. It makes me wonder if they’ve got enough people working to help out all the residents who need it.

"Small and Cozy Community with Caring Staff and Good Food"

The Arbor Inn feels just like home, cozy and comfy. It's not too big, so you won't feel overwhelmed like in some other places. The staff are super friendly, and you can tell they really care about everyone who lives there. The food's pretty good too. Overall, it's a great place for all kinds of people, and it was just right for my family member.

"Aging building but clean rooms. Residents prefer the food."

The room where my loved one stays is really clean, almost perfect, like a five out of five! But the rest of the building is a bit old. Most of the people living there seem to be older and needing more care. But my loved one seems to enjoy the food, especially since they have a new chef.

"Three Levels of Care"

They're planning to improve the system for residents to call for help, which is necessary. Right now, they use a bracelet with a whistle. The food is good, and most people are friendly. We appreciate having three levels of care.

"Nice place"

Overall, they do a great job here. The facility is consistently clean and well-maintained, and the staff members are friendly and professional. The care they provide meets all our loved one's needs, and she enjoys the activities they offer.

Extremely sad, dark atmosphere. Their sister site, Farmington Hills Inn, was somewhat better.

"Inconsistent Communication at Arbor Inn Leaves Room for Improvement"

My mom, who's almost 90, had hip surgery in June 2013. She wasn't ready for a nursing home but couldn't come home yet. She needs a wheelchair to move around because of limited movement. The assistance at Arbor Inn has mostly been helpful. But, we had a problem with communication between shifts. Mom missed her flu shot last week because of this. We thought verbal approval for the night nurse would work, but it didn't. Always make sure requests are in writing and on the resident's chart. The staff is friendly, and we haven't seen any neglect or abuse. Plus, the cost is reasonable compared to a full nursing home. We're still waiting for her own wheelchair to be ordered. More follow-up from the family is needed.

"Very nice Assisted Living facility"

Really nice Assisted Living place. You can pick between semi-private and private rooms with bathrooms. They have three levels of care and lots of amenities and activities. Physical therapists, occupational therapists, and doctors visit too.
