"Decent Facility, But There’s Room for Improvement"
The place is okay, but it could be better. The staff are nice and the rooms are clean, but sometimes things don’t work like they should. The food is alright, but it’s the same stuff a lot. They have activities, but not everyone likes them. It’s safe here, but it gets boring. So, it’s not bad, but they could make some things better.

"Poor Management Woes"
Okay, so the building looks nice and clean, but the management is terrible. They’re slow to respond, scripts don’t get filled, and food requests are a struggle. Plus, they’re seriously understaffed. Not cool!

"Assisted Living Nightmare: Neglect and Ants"
This assisted living facility has some serious issues. There's no housekeeping, and the cost for medication that isn't even given is way too high. Untrained and unlicensed staff are in charge, and it's common for one caregiver to be alone during a 12-hour night shift. The meals are expensive and served cold in paper takeout containers, with dirty ones left lying around. And to top it off, the apartments are infested with ants. It's like prisoners get better treatment here.

"Mixed Feelings About The Brook Assisted Living Facility"
The Brook is in a pretty rural area near Boyne City. The staff was friendly and showed us around the home. The place was nice and neat, but the dark colors inside didn't make us feel as happy as another home we saw. They also didn't have a memory care program, which is really important to our family. They gave us a bunch of info to take home, and overall, we felt okay about our visit.

"Not So Great: Disappointing Experience at Brook of Boyne"
In hindsight, our family is pretty disappointed with the Brook of Boyne. We thought we'd get everything we were promised, but it turns out that's not the case. Some of the staff are nice, but most seem really tired and don't seem to care. The management isn't helpful and lacks basic customer service skills or kindness. They don't even answer the phones properly. It's all very unprofessional. Our experience hasn't been great, and I wish there were more options nearby.

"All that Glitters at Brook of Boyne isn't Gold"
Looking back, I'm really disappointed that our family picked the Brook of Boyne. It feels like we were told just what we wanted to hear to get us to sign on, but most of it wasn't true. Some of the staff are great, but many seem to be overworked, short on help, and just don’t care. The bosses aren't helpful, and they don't seem to know how to treat people right or have sympathy. They don't answer their phones. It's really unprofessional. It hasn't been a good experience for us. I just wish there were more choices around here.

"Mixed Feelings: Comfortable Living but Limited Activities"
My mom lives at "the Brook" in Gaylord. She's in a 2-bedroom apartment and likes it. It's big enough. She can switch to assisted living if she wants. She cooks her own breakfast and lunch but eats dinner in the dining room with other residents. She's not super thrilled about the food, though. She enjoys bingo and movies but wishes there were more things to do. The place is clean, and the staff are nice. She's been there for 9 months.

"Daughter Reviews "The Brook" for 86-Year-Old Mom"
My mom moved into "The Brook" in Gaylord. She is currently in the independent living 2-bedroom apartment. It’s a very nice apartment with plenty of space. At any time, she could switch to assisted living. She makes her own breakfast and lunch and goes to the dining room for dinner. She enjoys having dinner with the other residents. She’s not thrilled about the food and would probably rate it "fair". She likes the activities, like bingo and movies, but I wish they had more to offer. We are pleased with the cleanliness and the staff. She has been there for 9 months.
