"Close to home, friendly staff, clean facility, good food."

My family member lives at The Pines of Clarkston Assisted Living. Everything's been pretty good. The workers are nice, the food's tasty, and the place is neat. The outdoor area is lovely too. We picked this place instead of another we checked out because it's nearer to our house.

"Avoid this Facility: Bugs, Bad Plumbing, and Incompetent Management"

If I had the option, I'd give this place zero stars. The bed bugs are rampant, the plumbing system's a complete disaster - toilets are always overflowing and residents’ laundry can't be done. It's so unclean that flies are constantly buzzing around. Having seen everything, inside and out, I strongly recommend not putting your loved one's well-being at risk by placing them here. While the caregivers seem okay, the building is a mess with leaky ceilings, poor management, frequent sewage floods, and a hazardous pond. Please consider my experience when seeking services at this facility.

"Caring Staff but Facility Needs Improvement"

My family member is getting really good care at this place. The people who work here are really devoted, but the food they serve isn’t very good. The person who cooks tries her best, but she can only cook with the money the bosses give her, so I wouldn’t blame her for what’s served. The towels and sheets they give to the people who live here don’t match and are really thin, almost like paper. I’m not sure where they get them, but they don’t look the same, and they’re not very nice. None of the towels are white, and you can tell they’re used, and the sheets are the same. It seems like they’re trying to save money everywhere they can. But the people who work here are great, and I think they really try hard to make up for what the bosses don’t give them. The people who clean the rooms come once a week, and during the week, the bosses bring in kids from the local school to help clean the place. There was a problem with bugs at one point, and I don’t think they ever fixed it. But my family member likes it here because the people who work here are so nice.
