"Mixed Feelings on Grandma’s Short Stay"

My grandma was staying at a care home for a short break, costing us $150 each day for three weeks. Everything started off great. The place and the people working there seemed nice, and it wasn’t too big. It looked like everyone living there was happy and treated right. We went to see Grandma every single day. But suddenly, after less than a week, my uncle got a call. They said Grandma was causing trouble at night and needed to go home right away. This was a shock because she seemed just fine during my visits, and I was even helping her with personal stuff like going to the bathroom and taking baths. I asked the care home why they didn’t tell us about her nighttime troubles sooner, and they said they thought it would stop on its own. That didn’t sit right with me. Maybe Grandma didn’t blend in, or perhaps they didn’t like us coming by so much. We did spot some things that didn’t meet health rules. Like this one time, the cook was making food with her long hair getting in the way, and she wasn’t careful about keeping it out of the food. They were supposed to serve Shepherd’s Pie with a salad and a roll, but those were missing, and the cook couldn’t explain why.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living: Visit Regularly for Assurance"

My grandma paid $150 a day for a 3-week stay. Moving in was easy. The place and staff impressed me. It's a small nursing home. Most residents seemed well cared for. Family visited Grandma daily. But she only lasted a week. They called my uncle suddenly. They said Grandma was disruptive at night on day 6. I thought everything was okay. Grandma seemed comfortable. I helped with her needs when I was there. I asked why they didn't tell us about her behavior sooner. They said they thought it would improve. I think that's not okay. Maybe Grandma didn't fit in. Maybe they thought we were too involved. We noticed some health code violations. The cook's long blonde hair was in the food. She wasn't careful when serving. The menu said Shepherds Pie with salad and roll. But some items were missing, and the cook couldn't explain why.

"Spacious Home with Great Staff"

This place is great for my father-in-law. He has settled in really well. The location is perfect, very close to us, so we can visit and take him out for the day. He is doing activities here and even helps out in the kitchen. The staff is amazing, so kind, helpful, and accommodating. The house is spacious and sits on a big lot with a large backyard where my father-in-law can walk around.

"Great Care for Everyone"

I really like their approach: everyone pays the same. You're paying for the care, not the room.

"No Callback Received"

I visited the facility and requested a call back from the ED or marketing, but no one responded.

"Lack of Activities Leaves Residents Wanting More"

My parent has been here for a few years. I like that it’s a small place and the care is mostly good. But it’s sad to see residents just sitting on the couches or watching TV. There’s no stimulation—no games, no music. I remember when they used to toss a beach ball around to get everyone moving, but that hasn’t happened in a long time. They really need more structured activities. Even residents with Dementia could benefit from some mental stimulation.

"Assisted Living Needs More Activities for Residents"

My parent's been here a while. It's nice and cozy, and the care's mostly good. But it's sad seeing residents just sitting, napping or watching TV. They need more fun stuff like games or music. They used to play with a beach ball, but not anymore. Even folks with Dementia could benefit from some brain games. But, sometimes you gotta choose your fights.

"Safe, Welcoming, and Personalized Care"

We moved my grandma into this place a few weeks ago and we really like it. It's very comfortable, like a young home. The people who work here are amazing. They are friendly and kind. They make us feel relaxed. Before she came here, she was living alone, and it just wasn't safe. Gail, the director, is amazing as well! She used to own the place, so she is very involved and here a lot. We loved the small home feel rather than a nursing home or a bigger place. The staff knows my grandma and deals with all her quirks!
