"Decent care and food, but staffing and payment issues exist"
From what I know right now, it seems like most places around here have the same level of care and good aides. This is partly because of how the local and corporate managers run things. The food here is a bit better than at my old place. However, they’re having some trouble with staffing at all levels. Also, they don’t accept credit card payments anymore.

"Assisted living staff friendly, care adequate but meals forgettable."
I kept a mop there to clean floors. Staff was friendly. He received good care mostly. He preferred eating in his room. They forgot his food a couple times. Meals were okay, not great. He used a wheelchair and couldn't hear well, so he stayed in his room mostly. They took him to some activities. Hospice visited with dogs. He loved the music lady who sang with him. The spiritual person didn't impress him. No church services disappointed him, maybe due to Covid. It was much cheaper than when my mom was in memory care. Being a Univ of Mich retiree got me a discount too.

"Assisted Living Review: Okay for Some, Not for All"
I suggest checking it out, it might suit your parent. My mom wanted great food but it's not happening. She enjoys activities, though not always reminded by staff.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I believe people who are more capable do better here because they struggle with having enough staff. It's great that they allow pets. However, because staff turnover is high, they have problems with training and procedures.

"Terrible Care and Lack of Help at University Senior Living"
Our experience at University Senior Living was utterly disappointing. We noticed that our family member received poor care during their stay. Whenever the help button was pressed, not a single person showed up. He contracted covid and, shockingly, it took three taxing days for doctors to even check on him or inform us. We strongly felt that he was abandoned. The executive director clearly lacked concern, while their subordinate, [name removed], who was truly kind-hearted, tried effortlessly to get things done but to no avail. The food and dining service was appalling and did not satisfy our initial expectations at all.

"Small Rooms, Not Ideal for Loved One"
We checked out University Senior Living and it really wasn’t a good fit for us. The people working there were super nice and tried hard, but the rooms were just way too tiny. They reminded me of the rooms you get in college, and I just didn’t want my family member to stay in a place like that. It would make him feel trapped.

"Friendly and Compassionate Staff at University Senior Living Draws Recommendations"
We chose University Senior Living based on a recommendation. It was hard to find out the costs upfront. However, the staff was friendly, accommodating, and compassionate. I would recommend University to others.

"Decent Assisted Living with Room for Improvement"
Overall, it’s a decent community, but there’s room for improvement. They could offer more activities and better nighttime access to our loved ones. Despite being understaffed, the hardworking staff is doing their best during these challenging times. The meal services and cafeteria are well-organized compared to other places.

"Misleading Fees, Communication Lacking, Staff Turnover in Assisted Living Facility"
I'd say to others that the place doesn't tell you all the costs upfront. They ended up charging more than we expected. They're not great at keeping in touch. Sometimes I leave messages, but it takes days for them to get back to me. Some of the staff have left. They automatically renew your lease unless you say you're leaving. They won't tell you the price until after you've renewed. It's a decent place, but they need to improve a bit.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Hospice Care Coordination"
The response time to requests concerned me. Staff lacked expected dementia care training as advertised. Many were average, not outstanding. Coordination with hospice was limited; many restrictions applied. Not recommended for hospice needs.

"Mixed Impressions at Assisted Living"
The place seemed friendly, but the studio they showed us wasn’t very clean. It took some imagination to figure out if it would work for Mom. The presentation was low-pressure. We still have questions and plan to visit other locations.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
We didn't fit in well because of the care plan. They offer different levels of care, but not all staff are trained for the highest level. They're understaffed, and the food isn't great. They try to fix issues, but it's confusing without an orientation package. Overall, some staff work hard, but there are limits.
