"Needs Better Teamwork Across Shifts"
The place is okay, but they need to work on talking better between the night crew and the day workers.

"Friendly Staff and Nice Apartment, But Issues with Med Management"
The staff here is really friendly. My mom has a one-bedroom apartment and she likes it a lot. The kitchen sink is quite small, though, and it would be better if it were a bit bigger. The only problem we've faced is with the communication between the pharmacy and the medication techs. We’ve had to keep a close eye on that.

"Weekend Phone Distraction at Assisted Living Facility"
Staff is friendly and approachable, but weekends are phone-focused.

"Routine Tour, Emphasis on Independence, Aging Facility Well-Maintained"
The tour felt rushed. It seemed like they do this often. They seemed to say, "Here's what we've got - decide if you want it." The building is old but looks nice. It feels like they focus more on people living on their own than those who need help. We're looking for a place for our loved one who needs assistance.

"Good Communication, but Menu Filling is Tedious"
My parents find it hard to fill out the menus all the time because it's boring. It would be nice if there was some help with the menu. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars for overall value because if someone is older or downsizing, they try to push them into assisted or memory living right away, even if they don't need it. When issues come up, they do report them and communicate quite well.

"Waltonwood Facility: Poor Understanding of Alzheimer's, Inadequate Care and Staffing"
My father suffered from Alzheimer's disease and we trusted Waltonwood to care for him. However, it quickly became clear that they specialize in assisted and independent living, but not in memory care. Many of the staff members there didn't seem to understand the challenges of Alzheimer's. Often, they were just sitting in a corner of the shared TV room, engrossed in their cell phones. When I'd come to visit my dad and ask about his wellbeing, it seemed like I was interrupting their break time. If you know anything about Alzheimer's, you'd know that patients often pace or wander during the night. I would constantly receive calls from Waltonwood staff saying they couldn't watch my father all the time and that they didn't have enough help for that. They even suggested that if things didn't change, my family and I would either have to stay overnight with my dad or hire a nightly sitter. And mind you, this was in addition to the already substantial fees we were paying them. We thankfully found another place that actually knows how to care for individuals with memory loss and moved my dad there instead. In my opinion, Waltonwood is a large establishment that offers memory care simply to have it as a service. They certainly do not specialize in it, as my family's experience has shown. Throughout this ordeal, their staff treated us with contempt as if my dad was a nuisance to them.

"Large and Clean, But Not Personal Enough"
I visited Waltonwood Cherry Hill and it was really nice. Everything was super clean and really neat. The place was way bigger than the one we picked. We chose somewhere else because we didn't think the care would be as good. The staff didn't seem to know everyone's names like they do where we chose.

"Family Recommends Waltonwood Despite Minor Staffing Challenges"
We picked Waltonwood because it's close and affordable. Mom's doing okay. Staffing shortages affect care slightly. Overall, recommend.

"Helpful info, but too expensive and not the right fit"
The information provided was helpful, but the community was quite expensive. Overall, it didn’t work out well for our loved one.

"Assisted Living Facility Neglects Residents and Overcharges Families"
My mom used to live at this place before the pandemic, and it was alright. But when Covid hit, they stopped all their activities and they wouldn't let me see her. She got worse really quickly, and ended up in the hospital. I decided to move her out and had people to help with that. But they told me I had to use their moving company, which wasn't free for two weeks. They also said I wouldn't have to pay for the extra days until their movers were available. I had another moving company I could've used, but they wouldn't let me. Then, my mom died. Even after that, they charged me nearly $900 for the days we waited for their movers to get her stuff out of her apartment. I was amazed how cold they were, and how quick they were to charge me extra when it was their own fault their moving services weren't ready. I'd be careful with these guys since it seems like all they care about is making money.
