"Communication Needs Improvement at Facility"

The place is pretty much okay, but they need to work on talking to each other better when the day workers take over from the night crew.

"Communication Challenges"

The staff is super friendly. My mom enjoys her one-bedroom apartment, although the kitchen sink could be a tad bigger. The only issue is communication with the pharmacy and med techs—we've had to stay on top of it.

"Caring Staff, but Room for Improvement"

The staff is friendly and seems to like their jobs. It’s hard to find a place that’s perfect for our parents. On weekends, it looks like they gather everyone in the TV room while the helpers are busy on their phones.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Perfunctory Tour, Emphasis on Independent Living"

I found the tour to be rushed and routine. It seemed like they do these tours often. The building, though older, was maintained well. It felt like they focused more on independent living than assisted living, which wasn't ideal for our needs.

"Staff at Waltonwood are ignorant of Alzheimer's and uncaring."

My dad suffered from Alzheimer's and unfortunately, Waltonwood fell short when it came to memory care. The place is fine for those needing independent or assisted living but for Alzheimer’s care, it left a lot to be desired. More than once, I found staff lounging around, seeing to their personal affairs rather than resident care. When I visited and had concerns about my dad, they looked more upset about being interrupted from their downtime. It’s well documented that Alzheimer's patients move around at night. I guess the staff weren't prepared for this because they kept calling me, essentially telling me they couldn't track my dad. They even mentioned that if he continued this, either I would have to stay overnight or hire a sitter, in addition to the ongoing fee. We eventually placed my dad in a facility equipped to handle memory care. It's pretty clear that Waltonwood added memory care because they thought they had to, not because they excelled at it. The way the staff treated us was a clear indication they saw my dad more as a bother than a resident in need of care.

"Nice Facility But Too Big; Chose Smaller One for Better Care"

I visited Waltonwood Cherry Hill. It was really nice, super clean, and everything was neat. But it felt too big for me. The place I picked is smaller. I thought the care might not be as good here because the staff might not know everyone's names like they do at the place she's at now.

"Good first impression, but another place stood out more"

We toured Waltonwood Cherry Hill, and at first, it seemed great. We ended up choosing another community that interested us a bit more.

"Good location and price; care could improve with more staff"

We picked Waltonwood because it's in a good spot and the price is about the same as other places. Mom seems to be doing alright so far. There are some problems with not having enough staff, which has made the care a bit worse. But overall, I would still suggest it to others who are looking.

"Too Expensive and Not a Good Fit"

The info was good, but the community was a bit expensive. Overall, it wasn't a good fit for our loved one.

"Charged $900 for delays caused by facility's movers: Uncaring!"

My mom stayed there before Covid hit, and it was just fine. But when Covid started, they stopped all activities and wouldn't let me visit her. Her health went downhill fast, and she ended up in the hospital. I got the news out that I was moving her and I had movers ready to go. But they told me I had to use their movers, who couldn't come for two weeks. They told me I wouldn't have to pay for those days when their mover was waiting to move her out. But even though I had a different mover ready, they wouldn't let me use them. My mom passed away, and they still charged me almost $900 for those days when their mover was waiting to move her things out after she had died. I felt they didn't care at all and was shocked they charged that extra fee when it was their fault their mover couldn't come sooner. Be careful with these guys, they only seem to care about money.
