"Horrific Dementia Patient Treatment by Trilogy's West Lake Health"
I've been in the healthcare field for two decades, dedicating a decade to therapy for dementia and trauma patients, and I have never encountered such rudeness as I did at Trilogy's West Lake Health Campus in Commerce. After three months of support to my mother-in-law, they expressed that she was too 'active' for them because she wouldn't be still. We reached out to arrange a discussion with the manager on how to handle her needs better like providing interactive tasks, modifying her meds, etc., but they told us they'd call back. The returned call came after three weeks while at work, from the assistant VP who threatened to report us to adult protective services if we didn't get my mother-in-law within an hour. When questioned about not consulting on solutions for my mother-in-law, she said she was not obliged to return my call. They stranded my family without offering any aid. It's already challenging to care for a family member with dementia without suffering through such harsh and cold contempt. My suggestion? Don't place your loved one there if they have dementia and won't just 'sit'. The staff won't bother investing the time to interact with them, resulting in you frantically searching for care. *Also lodged a complaint at their compliance center and was assured a callback. Still awaiting.

"Headline: "Neglect and Disrespect at Trilogy's West Lake Health Campus""
For 20 years, I've been in the health care field, 10 of which I spent as a therapist for dementia and tbi patients. I've never seen the level of disrespect that I did at Trilogy's West Lake Health Campus in Commerce. They cared for my mother-in-law for 12 weeks before saying she was too "busy" for them because she wouldn't just "sit". When we tried to arrange a meeting to discuss methods for her care, we were informed a call back was on the way. After three weeks, we finally got a call from (Divisional Assistant Vice President) at work, threatening us with adult protective services if we didn't pick up my MIL within an hour. When I questioned her about not calling us to discuss options, she told me she didn't have to call back. My family was left in a bind, with no support or help offered. Dealing with a dementia patient is hard enough, let alone being treated with such cruel disrespect. My two cents? Don't send your family member there if they have dementia and don't just "sit". The staff isn't willing to put in the effort to work with them, and you'll be left in the lurch for care provision. I've also reached out to their compliance center, where I was promised a callback. I'm still waiting.

"Mixed Experience in New Assisted Living Community Near Church"
I chose this community because it’s close to my church. However, there have been some issues. My wife needs more care than usual, so they try to charge us for everything. The place is big and pretty, and the staff is okay but busy. I often have to remind them about things. For instance, we wanted help hanging a picture, but despite asking three times, it still hasn't happened. The food is decent but too much of it is fried; they need more vegetables. The place is fairly clean and offers many activities like singing and puzzles. Outings depend on the day nurse, but I can take my wife out whenever. Overall, I might recommend it, especially if money isn't an issue. The facility is new and spacious, and they keep residents active. Just watch out for rising costs.
