Brookdale Inver Grove Heights is nice. My husband likes it there. The staff is kind and takes good care of the residents. I’d suggest Brookdale to others!

"More Staff and Better Communication Needed at Brookdale Inver Grove Heights"
Brookdale Inver Grove Heights doesn't have enough staff. The Director isn't always there to answer questions. There's no nurse available all the time to answer questions about prescriptions. I don't know when the doctor is there either. They don't communicate well. I never hear from them and when I ask questions, they don't get back to me. I have to keep asking the same questions. I haven't had time to call them, but it would be nice if they were available. Brookdale needs more staff and a nurse during the day. I would also like to get feedback from the nurse and more thorough explanations of what she tells me.

"Letdown By Understaffed Facility And Lack Of Communication"
We've really struggled to hear from them. All the great workers are gone because they've been let go and loads of people have left. They only have 2 buildings but only 2 staff for both at night, which is clearly not enough. They don't even try to make sure everyone can join in activities. All in all, our experience has been really disappointing and I wouldn't tell others to go there.

"Friendly and competent staff, good cost, firm suggestions needed."
I think they are really friendly and know what they’re doing. I haven’t had any trouble with them. I also think the cost is pretty good. The only problem is my loved one, who has been uncooperative. The Brookdale staff are almost too nice when she needs firmer suggestions. But it's getting better on both sides. Overall, Brookdale has been pretty good. I would recommend them to others.

"Nice Tour but Small Facility, Not Ideal for Mom"
The tour was good, but the place seemed too small. It's not ideal for my mom.

"A Wonderful Place to Live"
I enjoy living in this cozy community. It's just the right size for me, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The meals are great, and I appreciate dining with fellow residents. The activities are also enjoyable. I'd recommend this community to other families

"Wonderful staff and facility, but moving didn't work out yet"
I tried to move my mother-in-law to Brookdale in Inver Grove Heights, but I wasn't successful. Still, I have nothing but good things to say about the place. I visited often while trying to get her to move from Indiana to Minnesota. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and the residents seemed happy and involved in activities. The meals smelled delicious, and my son commented, "Wow, grandma is missing out. Everyone is having lunch, laughing, and the food looks great!" Penny and Lyndsay were especially patient, listening to all my concerns and giving lots of support. I haven’t completely given up on moving her here to be with family, but since our proactive efforts didn't work, we’re now waiting for a situation that might force a move. I hope there will be a spot for her when that happens.

"Hoping for a future spot for my mother-in-law here"
I couldn't get my mother-in-law to move to Brookdale in Inver Grove Heights, but I have only good things to say about their staff and facility. I visited often while trying to move her from Indiana to Minnesota. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The residents were busy with activities and very talkative. The meals smelled delicious, and my son said, 'Boy, grandma is really missing out. Everyone is enjoying lunch, laughing, and the food looks good!' Penny and Lyndsay were patient with me, listening to all my issues and offering support. I haven’t given up on bringing her here to be with family. If a move becomes necessary, I hope there will be space for her.

"Assisted Living Facility Disappoints with Unmet Promises & Poor Services"
Moving my mother-in-law into this assisted living facility cost a lot of money. Her room was dirty; it wasn't even cleaned before she came, and even when they do clean, it isn't done very well. Many of the services we were promised and paid for aren't happening. We're also paying extra for her to be moved to the dining and activities rooms, but that hasn't happened either. She didn't have a shower for two weeks because they hadn't added her to the schedule. I think they don't have enough staff. The people are nice, though. The activities are okay, nothing exciting. The food isn't great, I wasn't impressed.

"Disappointing and Dirty Assisted Living Experience, Not Recommended"
. There's a big upfront cost to move my mother-in-law in here. Her room was filthy, looked like nobody even bothered to clean it. When they do get around to cleaning, it's done half-heartedly. It feels like all those things we were promised and signed off on aren't actually happening. Despite the added charge for transport help, they aren't even helping her get to the dining area or the activities room. For two whole weeks, she didn't have a shower since they didn't slot her into the shower timetable. I suspect they're short on staff. The folks there are alright, decently friendly. As for the activities, they're pretty basic, nothing jaw-dropping. The food doesn't impress me either, feels low-grade.”

"Negligence and Excessive Fees at Brookdale Assisted Living Facility"
My mom was only at Brookdale for less than a week. During her first evaluation, the staff should have double-checked her answers with our family because she wasn't completely truthful due to her health condition, but they didn't. Then she fell in the middle of the night and hurt herself badly. She broke four ribs and even punctured a lung. She told folks the next morning about her pain, but no one took her seriously because she was confused about where she fell. She undressed in her room thinking it might ease her pain. The staff forced her to get dressed while she screamed from the hurt. It was only after I asked them to, that an ambulance was called. I decided not to bring mom back there. The expense was too much - we paid first month's rent, got a month free and gave a 30-day notice to leave, but in addition to that, they charged extra every time they entered her room. I had to wrestle for three months to get an accurate bill.

"Unbearable Care and Overpriced Fees at Brookdale! Avoid!"
My mom stayed at Brookdale for only 6 days. They should have shared mom's initial evaluation with us. Given her mental state, her answers weren't always accurate. But they didn't share this. Also, mom fell in the middle of the night and broke 4 ribs and punctured her lung. She explained her pain the next day, but no one took her seriously. She mistakenly assumed she fell outside and thought undressing would ease the pain. It was heartbreaking when 3 aides insisted on dressing her while she was crying out due to pain. I had to step in and order them to call an ambulance. We vowed never to return there! After paying a month's rent upfront, a free month's rent, and a hefty 30-day notice fee along with other surprise costs they charged every time they entered her room, it was a financial nightmare! I battled for 3 months to get an adjusted detailed bill.

"Caring but Expensive Assisted Living Option"
Brookdale was great. They really care about people there. It's small and easy to get around. The only problem is it's too expensive for us. We can't afford it for my mom.

"Positive Experience at Brookdale Inver Grove Heights"
At Brookdale Inver Grove Heights, things are going well. They were flexible when we needed to change our move-in date due to my mom's illness. My mom mentioned that some staff members might be leaving, but she has dementia, so I'm not entirely sure. Overall, it's been positive.

"BEST home for Mom! She loves it!"
They treat the residents with respect, kindness, and love. Since I moved my mom here, it’s been nothing but excellent service. Mom adores it, and they care for her just like we would. So grateful for this recommended home!

"Nice Staff, But Too Cramped"
The tour was good and the people were nice, but the place felt too tiny and the hallways were really tight. There wasn’t a lot of room to have time to yourself. The spot where it’s at isn’t the best for us. We’re probably going to say no to this one.

"Assisted Living Tour Disappointing, No Follow-up on Care"
I toured the assisted living place. The boss was sick. They told me the basic cost but haven't told me about the care yet. The rooms are smaller than the others.
