"Friendly Staff and Engaging Activities; Initial Chaos Resolved"

Staff are really nice and care about residents. Many activities like exercise and crafts. Move-in was chaotic, but we're adjusting. I'd recommend it.

"Frequent Staff Changes at Timberdale Trace Spoil Overall Satisfaction"

We're really NOT okay with all the staff coming and going - it's CONSTANT! Everything else here is pretty good, if you ask me. The activity therapist, whose name I won't mention, is simply awesome! She takes my mom to all sorts of places regularly. She's the best employee at Timberdale Trace, at least in my view. I'm satisfied with the care she provides, but the constant change in staff is really annoying.

"Terrible Experience, Maybe Better for Non-Disabled"

My time there was awful. I wouldn't recommend it. Perhaps if you don't have any physical disabilities, you might find it more acceptable.

"Assisted living at Timberdale Trace: Friendly care and engaging activities."

My mom couldn't live alone anymore, so we moved her from her physical therapy place. I called Timberdale Trace memory care, and they evaluated her that day. They said she'd fit right in. Now, after months there, she knows the staff and enjoys their company. They keep her busy with outings and community activities. I'm grateful for how well they care for her.

"Friendly Staff and Informative Tour"

We visited this place, and the tour went well. The staff was friendly, informative, and answered all our questions.

"Good care, COVID restrictions were challenging"

Our issue with the community was all the COVID restrictions. Our loved one declined rapidly when he was isolated. We could do window visits, but his hearing was not good, and he couldn't talk well, making it very hard to communicate. When we could visit freely, everything seemed good. Once the lockdowns started, it was hard to see what was going on. Generally, the staff were amazing. The nurses on the first and third shifts were wonderful. The supervisor on the second shift was great, but the new helpers weren't as experienced as we hoped. The meals and dining service were terrific, and the activities were great for many residents. It is expensive, but the value was reasonable. The rooms have heat, but the only AC is in the common areas.

"Staff caring, management absent; food and value disappoint."

The people who take care of my dad at Timberdale are really great; they're always there when he needs help, even when they have to work extra hours. But the bosses seem to hide in their offices all the time. It took me months to even meet the nurse. And on weekends, there aren't enough staff around. The food isn't very good considering how much you pay. It's sad because the staff work so hard, but the bosses don't seem to notice. Timberdale used to be called Brookdale Senior Living, and honestly, it's not any better now. I only kept my dad there because the floor staff are nice. Otherwise, it's not worth the money.

"Poor Management and Unmet Expectations"

In this place, the staff do their best, but management falls short. The food and activities need improvement, and the new company isn’t any better.

"Delighted With Staff Interaction"

My mom is doing really well in her community. I chose this place because during the tour, I had a nice chat with two staff members. I specifically asked if they enjoyed their work here, and they told me they liked helping dementia patients and working in memory care. They have kind hearts and provide one-on-one support. There's also an assisted living unit. The memory care area is secure, and residents can move around freely.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"

The people who work there are nice, but they need more help. There are too many people living there for the number of staff. The place is pretty clean, but the food is really bad. My dad doesn't get enough to eat because the food is so terrible. I do like how open it feels when you first come in the building.

"The Gloomy Ghost Town Of a Place!"

This place was totally gloomy and bleak. When we were supposed to get a tour, all the guy did was stick us in the central hall and chatter on. We kept wondering where all the residents were since we didn't spot a single one during the entire hour we spent there. Absolutely nothing was happening.

"Brookdale Owatonna: Misleading Sales Tactics"

Our experience at Brookdale Owatonna was awful. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through it. Let me start by saying the staff and nurse were great. They took excellent care of my father while he was there. The place was clean and well-maintained. But the bad part was their salesperson .He lured us in with false promises. He quoted a certain price, but when we moved in, it turned out to be much higher! He even made us set up my father's apartment and hang pictures. He shouldn't be working there. He lied to us.

"Untrustworthy Sales Rep Spoils Brookdale Owatonna Experience"

Our time at Brookdale Owatonna wasn't good at all, and I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what we did. I can't help but commend the staff and nurses though, who cared for my dad wonderfully. The place was clean and well-kept. However, the sales representative let us down. He gave us misleading promises, and quoted a price that later turned out to be much higher! He convinced us to move my dad in, decorate his apartment, and make it feel like home! This man shouldn't be working at such a place! He deceived us.
