"Positive Experience at Copperfield Hill Assisted Living"
She's doing well at Copperfield Hill. The staff is very helpful, and all the residents love it and seem really happy. It's a nice and open community. The apartments are a great size, though the door rattles a bit. The carpeting in the living room can be tricky with a walker; hardwood floors would be easier. I would definitely recommend Copperfield Hill to others.

"Loved One Happy Despite Dust, Enjoys Social Activities"
My loved one's room was quite dusty. They don't seem to be taking care of it properly. However, he enjoys the food and has made friends. He really likes the activities offered, especially the tavern for socializing. Overall, he's happy and well cared for. Finding my mother's missing wedding ring and notifying us brought great peace of mind.

"Subpar Dining Experience, Pleasant Community Atmosphere"
The place is okay. The people who work here are nice. Everybody's friendly. But the food's not good. We don't eat in the dining room anymore because of it. Also, they don't have enough staff. It would be better if they had better kitchen workers and a new chef. I don't think the meals are healthy.

"Caring Community Despite Challenges with Covid"
We've had a mixed experience because of Covid. It's been tough adjusting. They're trying their best with current restrictions. Sometimes it's hard to reach them right away, but they do get back to me, though not always as fast as I'd like. Despite challenges, I recommend the community. They do a great job. The staff cares deeply; they treat my family like friends. I'm grateful for their care and safety.

"Avoid This Disappointing Assisted Living Facility"
This place is awful. There are fruit flies all over the place. The carpeting is full of stains. It's a really gloomy atmosphere. The rooms are so tiny. You can hear residents yelling in the corridors. The lighting is terrible. Also, there's an unpleasant smell everywhere. The marketing folks seem kind, but don't be deceived - they're not telling the truth. The only good thing was the lady at the front desk. She acted with great professionalism, was incredibly nice, and treated the visiting residents with utter kindness and respect.

"Mixed feelings, The Manor needs better manager, The Lodge needs upgrades"
Most of the staff here are really nice, but I can't say the same for the people running the show. There are two buildings here, The Manor and The Lodge. It's really obvious where they put their money. If you're getting help from the government or don't have much money, you'll end up in The Lodge. It's pretty run down and depressing, the only good thing is that the person in charge is nice. The Manor is nicer, but it's not very diverse, and the manager isn't great. He's rude and doesn't really care. The food is pretty good, and they try to cater to everyone. The people planning the activities are fun and creative. The nurses seem to care about everyone.

"Disgusting and Neglected: Poor Living Conditions"
This place is super dirty and falling apart, and the care is really poor. When you walk into the lodge, you see a carpet full of stains and it's like that all over the building. If you go downstairs, there's even water leaking from the ceiling! Despite tons of complaints, my toilet still leaks, the sink is cracked and filthy, and the kitchen sink is horrible. Often, the food they serve is pretty much inedible. There are a few good staff members, but not many.

"Unpleasant Living Conditions Despite Prime Location"
The best thing about this assisted living facility is its location in Robbinsdale, near stores and restaurants. The reality is that many residents need to either buy their own groceries or dine out due to the poor food quality and occasional lack of food. While I appreciate being close to my family and like the location, the rest of the experience is disappointing. The sitting rooms went barely used and even though there's an Atrium, try thinking about how it feels to actually live here.

We had a really good time on the tour at this place. The people who worked there were friendly and helpful when we asked them stuff. It was great to see how clean everything was and the vibe there was nice. The food options seemed yummy, and there were plenty of things for the folks living there to do. We think other families should definitely check out this place if they need care for someone they love.

"Going Smoothly at Copperfield Hill"
My parents moved here and they’re enjoying it. The maintenance has been a bit slow, though. They’ve made requests, but those keep getting delayed. On the bright side, they received a free meal card when they moved in and really like the food in the dining room. We picked Copperfield Hill because of the Elderly Waver Program, and it worked out well since my step-brother could move in too.

"Facility Falls Short: Mediocre Upkeep and Unreliable Care"
I don't really see much going on in terms of activities. The building has its good parts and bad parts. Unfortunately, the less impressive side only has one elevator. Honestly, it reminded me of a service elevator because it was so run-down. I was shocked when I found out it was actually meant for the tenants. I often use the stairs, but they're always a mess. They hardly seem to clean them -- I remember seeing them vacuum once. As far as the care goes, my mom doesn't have any problems with the staff. However, they don't show up when she needs help, usually coming too late. Given the amount we're paying, I figured they'd be more reliable. The only reason she gets any attention at all is thanks to the outside help we've hired. They're the ones who remind the staff here when she needs something, such as tending to bed sores. She wouldn't be getting such attention if it weren't for them.

"Assisted Living: Some Concerns, but Friendly Staff"
My mom has been there for a month, so we haven't seen much. I did notice that there's no daily cleaning crew, and staff don't walk the floor to check on everyone. If someone falls, they can only yell for help. The staff we did see were friendly and helpful. I believe my mom is safe, and things will improve. The cheerful pictures on the walls are a nice touch.

"Happy with Care, Clean, and Activities"
We are happy with the care here. My mom is on the independent side, and the staff is available to help if needed. They offer activities, and my mom enjoys taking part in some of them. The facility is spotless, so I’m not worried about cleanliness. She likes the meals in the dining room but also makes her own food. I would definitely recommend this place to family or friends.

"A perfect place for mom!"
My mother-in-law moved into Copperfield Hill about 5 months ago. When we were looking at her housing options, this was our top choice. She feels safe and enjoys the friendly staff and other residents. There are lots of activities and outings that keep her busy and happy. She loves being close to Crystal Lake for outdoor walks and visits with her friends. The nearby shops in Robbinsdale are great for getting little things and doing some shopping. We live close by in Minneapolis, so it's easy for us to visit her often. The recent remodeling is looking good...we can't wait to see it finished.

"Welcoming assisted living with attentive staff, vibrant community life."
We moved my mom here in 2014. She felt at home right away. Even with a few physical issues, she's active and enjoys mingling. The staff and residents are friendly. Mom's recipes are even used by the chef! She loves the activities and daily interactions. Before we moved in, the staff was great, showing us around and answering all our questions. What's really nice is how the staff knows the residents well and cares about them. I used to worry about Mom being lonely, but now she's so busy, I have to schedule visits with her!

"Avoid This Facility— Deceptive Staff and Poor Elderly Care"
My father was placed in the memory care unit of this assisted living facility. We were given the impression that the staff-to-patient ratio was 1:6 or 1:8, which turned out to be false. There was the issue of him missing his meds for a whole four days because the staff failed to order it on time. To make matters worse, my dad was unresponsive for a day and a half, yet we weren't informed, despite our regular phone check-ins. I wouldn't recommend entrusting your loved ones to this place - it has proven to be insufficient, and the employees handling sales are deceitful and crafty.

"Copperfield’s Flexible Services Helped Us Through Tough Times"
My parents didn't want to leave their home, but they needed help. We visited other places, but this one was the best fit. They liked that it wasn’t too big or like an institution. They loved the atrium and sun room! They chose a beautiful 2-bedroom on the 5th floor with a great view, available on Nov 1st. However, when mom was hospitalized in August, we had to move their date up. I called Copperfield in tears, asking for help. They let them move into another 2-bedroom temporarily until the one with the view was ready. Although moving in two stages was tough, it was better than hiring extra help for mom. It also let them get used to the place. Visitors have been impressed, and the staff has been wonderful. My father passed away in January, but the neighbors and staff have been very attentive to mom, making sure she doesn’t feel alone. The staff has been very patient with me, as I often had to change the service agreement. They monitored mom closely at first due to her medications, but we finally got everything under control. After a fall and hospital stay, mom got extra services again, but she’s now back to basic assisted living and doing well. The service contract has stayed the same for the last few months! The best part is they can adjust services quickly. I was worried that the price would only go up with more help, but that didn’t happen. That’s why we joke about me changing the service package repeatedly—up and down, up and down!

"Inadequate Care at Copperfield Facility Dismays Grandchild"
My grandma needed to move to an assisted living facility in the Twin Cities area because my grandpa and other family couldn't look after her anymore. When she moved to Copperfield, she needed complete care and hospice came in a few days later. I was really upset with the quality of care she got here! Most of the personal care assistants barely spoke English, the nurse was always in her office, and it seemed like the staff didn't really care. Whenever I'd visit, grandma would still be in the same spot I'd left her the night before - they should've been moving her around during the day - and nobody had changed her hygiene products in hours! Plus, other residents would take stuff from her room because the staff were always in the break room on their phones, not running activities for the residents. Now don't get me wrong, I know this was the memory care unit and my grandma couldn't do anything for herself, which can be difficult, but they could've at least made sure she was comfortable before she passed away.

"Assisted Living Facility Review: Good Amenities, Some Drawbacks"
This place has a companion suite with TV, phone, and supplies, plus a monthly haircut voucher. The common room is very small with no window, a small fridge, microwave, but no sink. They have add-ons we want for Mom and include three meals, but we're unsure about the extra costs. Mom would need to watch her diet more closely here. They use a buddy system, and the companion suite isn't in the main building, which has younger residents. They have a van with a wheelchair lift and a good activity calendar. They accept the elderly waiver after 1-2 years and are near a Catholic Church and shopping area.

"Overall Positive Experience Despite Furniture Damage"
It's been mostly good at the assisted living place. We had a problem when we stored some furniture in the garage. There were big storms, and the water messed up all the furniture. They didn't offer to make things right, which was disappointing because we were paying to store it there. But, apart from that, things are going well. The staff is friendly, and the people who helped us with the move were really nice. The apartments are all fixed up and look new. There are a few hiccups, but mostly, it's been good.

"Memory Care Wing Lacked Openness; Activities Good; Money Concerns"
There's a special part of the building for folks with memory issues, and it's locked up for safety, which is good. But it feels a bit closed off and reminds me of a nursing home. One of the neighbors there seemed a bit grumpy, picking fights with other residents, even though they couldn't communicate well. The activities they offer seem fun though, like polka time! They also have a program for when money runs out, but you have to pay for it yourself.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Full Amenities, Friendly Staff, and Scenic Views"
This place feels like a fancy hotel or a cozy village. You get your own apartment, starting from independent living to assisted, maybe even for those with memory issues. They have a garage inside the building and a free van that takes you within 3 miles. The decorations are like something you'd see in a hotel or a small village. Your apartment has a full kitchen, and they serve meals too. Nurses are available from 6 am to 9 pm, and aides are there around the clock. The views from the east side are lovely, especially if you like looking at Crystal Lake. They also encourage residents to get involved in community centers nearby, which is nice if you want to be closer to friends. The place is pretty well maintained, and they even have a library.
