"Subpar Care at Assisted Living Memory Unit Uncovered"
This review concerns the Memory Care section. The place looks good, but the care isn't. We didn't know this, because the workers say everything’s fine. Yet, we placed cameras in our family member's room. The videos showed the real care given- it was shocking and sad. Whenever we question the staff, they say one thing but something else happens. We tried to discuss the issues with the managers, but improvements last for only a few days. The staff changes a lot. They don't have a regular schedule for the patients. For example, they sometimes wake our family member up at 5:30 in the morning and sometimes after 9. They used to make her sleep right after dinner, between 5:30 to 6. At one point, they didn't give her a shower for over two months. There have been cases of wrong medicines given and unclean bedsheets left on bed.

"Friendly Staff, Mediocre Food, Delayed Care"
The original review highlights both positive and negative aspects of Highview Assisted Living. Let's break it down: 1. Friendly Residents and Staff: The residents are friendly, and most of the staff seem to enjoy their work with seniors. 2. Food Quality: The food in the dining room is average, but sometimes it's quite poor. The reviewer has compared it to other senior living buildings. 3. Accessibility of Care: The most critical issue is the accessibility of care when a resident's needs change. Highview requires advanced notice before providing assisted living services to independent living residents. This delay can be problematic for those without family nearby.

"Delayed care and poorly rated meals at Highview."
The people living here are quite pleasant, and many of the employees are really nice and seem to love working with elderly. The food they serve in the dining area is okay, but it can be pretty bad sometimes. We've had meals in other senior living homes so we definitely have something to compare it with. To be honest, there have been times when I've visited and gotten food that was almost impossible to eat. It's unfortunate. But, care availability when the residents need changes is even more crucial than the food quality. Highview stated that they can't provide any tier of assisted living services to a resident living independently without ample heads-up. For us, they asked for 4 days notice before any assisted living supports could be arranged. If the resident doesn't have any family nearby to assist in the meantime, this can be a serious issue. You'd assume that a place dedicated to elderly care would be able to begin services almost right away for those living independently. When you're looking for a place for your parents, I strongly recommend you ask - "How fast can you provide assisted living services if my parent's needs change unexpectedly?" Plus, ensure to try the food multiple times!! Best of luck!

"Clean, Friendly, and Their Best"
It was tough because she didn't stay here long before she passed away. We were only there for a short time, but it was clean, and the staff was nice. I don't think they could have done anything better—they did their best.

"They did their best."
It was tough for us because she wasn't here very long before she passed away. We hadn't even been here a month. While we were there, they kept everything clean, and the staff was friendly. I don't think they could have done anything differently or better. I believe they did their best.

"Helpful Staff and Worth the Cost"
Great place. We needed memory care services quickly, and the staff answered all our questions and helped us during a stressful time. The cost was a bit higher than we wanted, but since the care was for a short time, it was worth it. I would recommend Highview Hills to anyone needing assisted living care.

"Mixed Feelings About Highview Hills Memory Care, Lakeville, MN"
They phoned for the appointment. Studio impressed. Place huge, confusing. Woodworking area nice for dad. Too car-friendly. I'd do meds and laundry to save money, reluctantly.
