"Positive experience with minor inconveniences in assisted living facility"
The move-in was a bit hectic due to a fob system change. It took a while to get our fobs. The food quality is excellent, though portions are sometimes limited. My loved one handles some laundry and often skips breakfast, sometimes lunch and dinner. Adjusting costs for missed meals would be helpful, but we understand the challenges. Staff promptly responds to calls and texts. I'd recommend this facility to others.

"Mixed Pricing but Recommended Assisted Living Facility in Minnesota"
The costs vary significantly based on the level of care, which was surprising. We live in Arizona and only visited once when we helped her move in. My sister-in-law, who lives nearby, can give you more details from her visits. Despite the pricing differences, I would definitely recommend this community.

"Needs Warmer Meals and Better Staff Staying Power"
The food at this place is almost never hot when it’s time to eat. If they could keep their workers around longer, it would really help things go more smoothly.

"Disappointing Experience in Memory Care at New Perspective Highland Park"
My mom lived at New Perspective Highland Park for a bit, then moved to Memory Care. Assisted living was good - lots of friends, good food choices, fun activities. But Memory Care wasn't the same. She couldn't pick her meals, and they were often cold. I talked to the boss about it, but nothing changed. I asked for her door to be fixed so it would close properly, but it broke instead. They never fixed it. Her name was never put outside her door like others. Some caregivers were great, but overall, Memory Care lacked respect and dignity. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

"A Caring and Welcoming Assisted Living Facility"
The staff at New Perspective are kind and attentive. When a homeless man was found asleep in the foyer, their compassionate response showed care not only for residents but also for the wider community. We chose this facility primarily based on its appearance—it doesn’t feel institutional at all. I highly recommend A New Perspective as a safe, friendly place for your loved one. The setting and building radiate the warmth of the staff.”

"Unsatisfactory Care and Unfulfilled Promises"
The meals came out chilly, not warm. The attention and help given were not up to the mark. I wouldn’t tell anyone to choose this place. Whenever a problem popped up, it had to go all the way to the top boss, the Executive Director. But even with their word to fix things, nothing got better. Sometimes, it even turned out more disappointing.

"Unfair Expenses Pushed onto Families at Assisted Living Facility"
This place was a top choice for my family members. But, they wanted us to pay for new flooring because of some problems, which I didn't think was fair. My mom needed a special lift which requires a hard floor, and we thought that should be an expense for them since they're the ones offering services.

New Perspective is a welcoming place with activities for residents. Response times and callbacks could improve. More information upfront would have been helpful. Overall, my loved one is safe with caring staff.

"Positive visit but pricey; activities abundant, space limitations for residents."
Our family visited in person and liked this community. It seemed pricey, larger than others nearby. They offer many activities, but couldn't accommodate our loved one.

"Caring Staff, Mixed Kitchen Experience"
The staff at New Perspective were absolutely wonderful. The nursing staff were fantastic—helpful and friendly. We chose this community because they offered a twelve-month spend-down option and quickly accommodated my loved one after rehab. The care services were great, and the staff genuinely cared about residents. We appreciated the staff's longevity. However, the kitchen was going through turnover, and my loved one wasn't thrilled with the food.

"Outstanding Care and Love at New Perspective Senior Living"
I want to share my experience with New Perspective Senior Living in Highland Park, where my mom and stepfather lived, and my dad was in memory care. Deciding to move my mom and stepfather to New Perspective was the best choice we ever made! It was tough moving them from their home, but after a few weeks, they started thriving. We didn’t have to worry about their medication or meals anymore. The staff was amazing always helpful and caring. They made friends, played cards, enjoyed bingo, and went to church. The music they brought in was fantastic. Whenever my parents got sick, the staff would contact their doctors. If they needed to be hospitalized, the staff kept in touch with both the family and doctors and welcomed them back warmly. My dad was at another senior living place that didn’t offer memory care, so we moved him to New Perspective because we loved it so much. On his first day, a caring staff member came up to me, hugged me, and said, "Don't worry, we'll take good care of him." And they did! He was very well cared for. Over the 4 years at New Perspective, there were many times I had to manage new medications, food restrictions, walkers, wheelchairs, and illnesses. The staff was always willing, caring, and supportive. Even though all my parents have passed away, they were able to stay in their cozy apartments until the end. I feel great knowing they received so much love and dignity from the staff. They truly felt at home When my parents first moved in, the director said, "We are not perfect, we are people taking care of people." I think he was wrong. I believe they are perfect!

"Good care, but parking is an issue"
They provide good care, and their staff is well-trained. The place is always clean—I never saw any dirt or smelled anything bad. They charge a base fee, but nursing care is extra. They checked on her often, but I don't think she could use the call button. Parking is definitely an issue; it can be hard to find a spot at certain times. The facility was too big and busy for us, though.

"Beautiful but Dangerously Negligent Assisted Living Facility"
If I had the chance, I'd rate this place zero stars. We learned today, not from Keystone, but through my grandmother's hospice, who's not part of the same company, that she was tossed out of her bed. No one bothered to inform us or give us a progress report. Now, my grandmother deals with brain bleeding and a clot close to her neck. A similar thing happened last year, she was suddenly in the hospital after "falling" from her wheelchair. But she can hardly move herself, so there's no way she could fall hard enough to break her nose. These are just a couple of issues under investigation. The management here is terrible. Moreover, they've misplaced my grandma's false teeth twice already, which cost us over $4,000 to replace. The place might look nice, but it's sure not worth the cost.

"Positive Aspects of This Community"
I really liked some things about this place. They were super excited for my loved one to join. I appreciated how quickly they responded to call buttons (within 3-5 minutes). Plus, their kitchen was open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., so residents could grab a meal whenever they felt hungry. However, it was pricier and farther away compared to other options we considered.

"DANGERS AT KEYSTONE: POOR MONITORING AND INEXPERIENCED STAFF"
A decent eldercare center is only as solid as the folks taking care of your dear ones. We grappled with this unpleasant truth painfully. We were initially drawn to the Keystone Highland Park Center as it looked neat, well-equipped, and easily accessible from our house, but after a year of interacting with them, we came to realize our grand blunder. My mom was on the edge of death recently due to an inexperienced residential assistant. The constant staff changes and poor supervision of rookie staff accumulate into a perilous scenario for those needing extra care or those on the frail side. We're relocating my mom to another center and I urge you to please steer clear of Keystone. I'm plagued with guilt for not transferring my mom earlier—the countless and unforgivable errors made by the staff were just too much. If you're planning regular visits to your dear ones, you'll quickly see my words echoed over and over. This is the REALITY.

"Don't Trust This Facility: Unkept Promises and Poor Management"
Had a really bad time at this facility. Even if a family member was healthy and didn't need any help, I wouldn't suggest it. It's not safe to leave someone who is weak here. It looks nice and seems well run at first, but it doesn't take long to notice the terrible smell of urine in the hallways and elevators, and the residents aren't kept clean. Many of the aides don't have proper training or any sense. It seemed like employees were leaving all the time. While some staff cared, the management was a nightmare to deal with. There was no clear plan and getting basic care was a daily struggle. The billing was always wrong and included charges for things that weren't done. There were lots of unfulfilled promises and it was a very badly run facility in general.

"Poor Supervision and Overpriced Care at Keystone Facility"
This facility isn't equipped for high-level patient care. The staff isn't properly managed and spends too much time on breaks. They use a confusing pricing system that fluctuates rapidly based on the elder's health from one month to another. I wouldn't advise choosing this place unless your family member can move freely and requires little supervision. Keystone claims they can handle all levels of care, but in reality, they adopt a one-size-fits-all approach. I often wondered if my mother was actually receiving the care we were paying for. Many times, I'd discover my mom alone in her room, in need of changing and help would arrive only after half an hour of pressing the call button. For the hefty sum of $7000 per month, I certainly expected better!

"Striving for an A in Effort"
I believe they’re doing well. They’re really trying hard, and I’d give them an A for effort. However, there aren’t enough staff to assist with activities in the memory care unit, and the food hasn’t been great so far.

"Accommodating and Responsive Assisted Living with Excellent Food"
The food here is really good, like a 4 plus. They could add more different things to do, and you should double-check the paperwork and numbers because sometimes they're wrong. But when you ask for something, they're helpful and quick. Overall, it's been good, and I'd tell others to try it.

"Mom's New Home Brings Back Her Memory"
Mom has been at Keystone for nine days now, and she's doing great! She's physically fine, but her dementia was getting worse when she lived alone. Since moving, she seems to have regained some of her memory, which is so good to see.

"Needs Improvement"
Initially, it would have been a perfect 5 out of 5, but now it's just a 3 out of 5. During the day, all the staff goes home, and at night, only two people care for 105 residents. They're trying to hire more staff, but for now, I'm sleeping in my father's room to be there in case of a fall or other issues. The new memory care area (only 5 months old) needs some adjustments.

"Don't Seem Prepared for Memory Care"
We picked Keystone because they had great move-in deals and the community looked beautiful. Unfortunately, we rushed into moving without researching properly. Our loved one needed a place urgently due to legal issues. However, Keystone didn't seem ready for memory care. They placed our loved one with more advanced dementia patients, leaving them isolated. The small common area, where residents watch TV, is often crowded with wheelchair-bound residents. Although they're building a patio, it's not finished yet. The staff needs better training in handling dementia patients. The locked memory care unit feels confining.

"Great Choice for Month-to-Month Assisted Living"
Awesome! It's nearby and offers month-to-month options for testing. Seems like the best choice yet. The person mentioned liking Sunrise in Goldenvalley, and Keystone used to be a Sunrise facility.
