Oak Ridge Assisted Living

"Nice place, needs more activities, no eviction for low funds."
Overall, it is a very nice place. Mom gets bored and could use more activities. They have good reviews and don't evict when a resident runs out of money and needs to use an elderly waiver.

"Dark and Smelly Assisted Living with Boring Atmosphere"
We didn't have a great time visiting Oak Ridge. The hallways were super dark, the place smelled old, and most residents seemed bored, just sitting around with nothing happening.

"Great Staff and Activities, Some Disappointments in Description and Continuity"
The staff and residents were wonderful. The Director, , was very helpful when we needed extra time to prepare Mom to leave transitional care and for our second tour. We were drawn to the activities offered, but some were discontinued or not as expected.

"Insufficient Training for Staff in Memory Care"
I wouldn't suggest this place for memory care services. The staff members aren't equipped with enough training for dealing with memory-related issues. They should get more knowledge before labeling themselves as memory care experts.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short in Care Responsibilities"
My mom's been there 4 years, with bad memory loss. She fell 3 months ago; they didn't replace her broken glasses. Administration did nothing. I live far but I'm visiting soon. Notified Elderly Welfare Service. This neglect can't happen again.

"Mixed Feelings: Clean Spaces, Friendly Staff, But Some Shortcomings"
The common areas stay clean, with wide hallways. Staff generally do their jobs well, but some aides aren't great. I have to complain to get my dad's bathroom cleaned and his bed made properly. Also, it's a hassle for them to handle my dad's VA medication, which isn't in blister packs. I won't pay extra for this inconvenience. Overall, it's a decent place for my dad. Staff are nice and food is good. It would be better if they offered transportation like other facilities, but I guess they're trying to keep costs down. Oak Ridge is cheaper than other places nearby.

"Limited Activities and No Transportation Options"
The place was clean, but the rooms were tiny, and there weren't many activities besides bingo. No transportation options except maybe a cab or darts. Other places have their own little bus.

"Beautiful place but lots of extra fees"
The place is really pretty and has nice accommodations in a great location. The biggest problem is that there are many extra fees. For example, the monthly rate only includes 2 loads of laundry per week. If you need more, it's $10 per load. If you need an extra bath, nursing services, companion services, or more housekeeping, it all costs extra each month.
