River Bend Assisted Living & Memory Care

""High Priced Facility with Failing Standards and Lackluster Management""
Overpriced and Underwhelming Care Center! The care center is way too expensive and they don't keep up with their promises. The Executive Director seems fake, loud, and unpleasant. It seems like they care more about money than the well-being of the residents. There's a silver lining though: the caregivers show a lot of compassion. They're overseen by the Resident Director and her assistant RN who are both really caring. I also had a chance to inspect their memory care unit, which is managed by a kind man, but I'm afraid I can't recall his name. The food used to be excellent, but it's just about edible now. We decided to move mom out and she passed not long after.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Changes"
Things have changed at this assisted living facility. It's not terrible, but it's not as nice as before. The food isn't as exciting for my loved one, and they don't participate in the activities.

" Inadequate Staffing, High Costs, Childish Activities Makes Family Move Loved One"
Our beloved family member moved into the facility just shy of a year ago. We were delighted with the offerings and the managerial team at the time. However, things took a turn for the worse after a change in leadership. The new director's management style caused an exodus of talented staff members, including exceptional nurses, reduced to resigning due to the undesirable work environment. On top of these issues, the price has veered wildly. The cost of living here increased not once, but three times in less than a year's time. Even worse, an increased assisted living package fee is about to take effect, skyrocketing the monthly expense. Considering the limited assistance my loved one actually receives - mainly housekeeping, laundry, and meals - we're simply not getting our money's worth. They don't even have enough staff members to provide care to every resident. We're also disheartened by the activity options available. The activities director offers programming that feels more geared towards children, including playing with Lego and tinker toys - hardly appropriate or enjoyable for our 85-year-old loved one. We've had enough. We're moving our beloved family member.

"Not the Best Fit for Our Loved One"
Our family visited the assisted living facility in person, and everyone we talked to was really friendly. However, in the end, it just wasn't the right place for our loved one.

"Friendly Staff and Fun Activities, Food Could Improve Slightly"
I would definitely choose this place again for my loved one. The staff is really friendly, which is something I appreciate a lot. They offer activities like music, arts and crafts, and other fun things for the residents. The food could use a bit less salt and have more options, especially more plant-based choices.

"Assisted Living: Good Meals and Activities, Communication Needs Improvement"
My family thinks the food and activities here are good. We're mostly happy. But, talking between staff isn't good. Maybe because of different shifts or people leaving, but messages don't always get to the right person. We have to keep asking for things for our loved one.

"Assisted Living: Mixed Feelings"
The folks here are nice, but they need more staff. I get it's tough now. But for memory care, it's not worth the money. They don't pay enough attention to needs, maybe due to limited help. They should clean rooms and help with showers better.

"Mixed Feelings About River Bend Assisted Living"
We picked River Bend Assisted Living because it’s in a good spot and offers good value. The rooms are spacious, which makes us happy. However, they need to work on the meals—they haven’t fixed the ongoing issue with variety and quality.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
I believe they judge residents without really getting to know them. When we moved her out, no staff member said goodbye. On the bright side, they had a fun bus for activities she enjoyed, and the room had a lovely view it was spotless. .

"Great food, helpful staff, clean and honest community"
The food is really good and the activities are decent. They have a few activities every day. The staff are amazing at helping my mom. The place is clean and well-kept. It's in a beautiful spot by the river. They've been honest about all the charges, and I would recommend this place.

"Caring Staff, but Facility Needs Improvement"
I thought this place would be nicer. It should look more like a hospital inside. There weren’t any bars to hold onto, and the path to the rooms was too tight for wheelchairs. The people working here are really nice and do a good job. The building is small, so I think my Dad will get more help here than he would at a bigger place.
