"Clean, Friendly, and Safe Place for Mom"
The place is clean, the food is good, and the staff is friendly and really cares about my mom's health and well-being. The apartment was very nice with low carpeting to help prevent falls. Sunrise was also cleaner than a few other places I visited.

"Cold Conditions at Local Assisted Living Facility"
A buddy of mine told me that in the winter, the first floor of this assisted living place is freezing at 60°; they can't make it any warmer because the front door keeps being opened all day long. For what it costs to live here, you'd think they'd do a better job of looking after their residents. Maybe going to the local news will help. One of the residents said her room was super cold, but they did give her a space heater. The shared spaces should at least be warmed up to 70°!

"Upscale Facility Ideal for Higher Care Needs, Some Maintenance Lapses"
Nice place, feels upscale. More like a step down from nursing care than up from independent living. Ideal for those needing more care but still social. Confident they could handle my mother-in-law's needs till end. Shows wear, short on staff. Sales rep was informative, not pushy. Maintenance lacking before visit, made place look rundown.

"Facility Neglects Activity and Respect for Elderly Residents"
In the beginning, things seemed good, like a solid 4-star situation, but by the end, it had fallen to a 1-star disaster. In her first month, she did physical therapy to help with movement. But once that was over, the staff just let her sit around doing nothing. They didn't include her in any of the fun stuff. After 3 months of this, she couldn't even stand up by herself. They told her just to use her adult diaper when she had to go pee. It was a crushing blow to her self-respect.

"Assisted Living Facility Excels with Vaccination and Care Checks"
The staff at this assisted living facility are all vaccinated and boosted, which is very important to us. We appreciate how often the staff checks in on the residents. They did have a COVID outbreak, but they managed to control it, which impressed us a lot. The meals and dining service can sometimes be inconsistent; there's often pasta and canned sauces with few vegetables.

"Friendly place with great people"
Sunrise is a really friendly place, and the people are great. I visit about 5 days a week, so I know a lot of them. I like that the building is smaller compared to some of the really big places. It's also very clean. They could have more activities, so if that's important to you, you might want to think about that.

"Poor Communication and Broken Promises at Assisted Living Facility"
My mom enjoys it, but they're so short-staffed and don't follow through. For instance, they once tried to give my mom someone else's meds, but we caught the mistake. After two months, they raised her rate by [price removed], and scheduling a meeting took forever. They promised info on the price increase but never sent it. Plus, they forgot to put her on the shower schedule, and we had to remind them after 6 weeks. Communication is terrible. Staff should keep their promises and communicate better.

"Poorly Managed Assisted Living Facility Fails Residents"
This place isn't good. Some workers were nice, but they got fired or left because of terrible bosses. Everything is messy, and they often make mistakes with medications. They don't wash your clothes even though you're paying them, and baths are rare too. They don't care about what residents want or need. Your stuff might go missing, and nobody takes responsibility. My brother had a lot of bad experiences there. I wouldn't tell anyone to go there.

"Assisted Living Facility Shows Promise Despite Staff Turnover"
This has been a positive experience. The community has some staff changes, but they're managing well. Communication with family is good. Improvements needed in personal care, like remembering residents' glasses.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Improvement with Communication and Amenities"
The people who showed us around Sunrise of Edina weren't great at keeping in touch, and we felt like they weren't very reliable. We really liked the place, but it didn't have a gym, and my family member likes to exercise every day. Also, they only had small rooms available, and we wanted something bigger.

"Responsive staff, homey atmosphere, intake process needs improvement."
When we were checking out different places for my dad, we thought this one suited him better. It felt cozy and comfy, like a real home. There are plenty of spots where residents and visitors can hang out and chat. Some of the other spots we checked out were nice, but they seemed a bit too modern for our taste. When my dad first moved in, we had some trouble with the paperwork and getting things organized. It would've been great if they gave us a list of his main caregivers, their phone numbers, and a schedule for stuff like showers and laundry. But when I told them about the issues, they listened and tried to make things better. The staff is really nice, caring, and always ready to help.

"Avoid Sunrise of Edina Memory Care"
There are better memory care options for roughly the same cost, and I'd really suggest you explore. My time at Sunrise of Edina memory care tells me the area is loud, excessively hot, dim, jam-packed, dilapidated, and seems disordered. The television blares constantly, and when it's off, there's poor-quality music played from a low-end CD player. The locked door gives a prison-like feel. Some caregivers are top-notch but overloaded with duties. Residents seem over-drugged -- I know my family member certainly was. They despised their stay and their condition drastically declined during their time there. I'm pleased if others had positive experiences, but once more, I recommend you check out other memory care facilities.

"Tour Delight: Kind Staff, Clean Facilities, but Found Better Fit"
I went on a tour of this place. Everybody was really nice to my family and me. Everything seemed clean and nice from what I saw. The staff was friendly and polite. It was a good experience overall. I did find another place that suited our needs better, but the tour here was good.

"Lovely Assisted Living with Budget Worries"
Erin Wombacher, my guide, did a great job. She’s knowledgeable about dementia, elder care, medicare, hospice, and resources. The place is lovely, with a nice coffee bistro offering free coffee, cookies, and popcorn. The restaurant-style dining is also nice. Money is a concern, but I’ll keep checking.

"Convenient and caring assisted living with diverse activities, but bland food."
We checked out a few places, but this one is closer to home, which is handy. They handle her medicines well. The staff who look after her are friendly. They listen to my concerns about her care. They organize trips to different places like restaurants, the arboretum, and fishing at the lake nearby. My wife stays in the memory unit, so she's limited in what she can do. They bring in therapists to help her, and they have music sessions where they sing along to songs from her time. There are exercise classes in the afternoon, and sometimes they do fun baking activities. The only thing I don't really like is the food. I think it could taste better. Overall, it's a nice place, and the people are friendly.

"Great place, friendly staff, and clean facility!"
We've had a great experience with Sunrise of Edina until recently. Things have been a bit shaky because of a big staff turnover, but we hope the quality stays the same. The place looks nice, is well-kept, and clean. The staff are all very friendly. My family and I agree that our loved one is really thriving here! She has shown a lot of improvement!

"Overall, we're pretty happy with the care and food."
Overall, we're pretty happy. The food is amazing—it's homemade, and they even have a pastry chef. There have been some issues with laundry getting mixed up. There are a lot of different staff members, so it's sometimes hard to know who to talk to. But the sales rep is always available and very friendly, and she handles our concerns well. I feel like my loved one is being taken care of. When I first walked in, it felt warm and homey, which I liked. I also like the cheerful atmosphere and the location. They make sure to involve her in activities and help her find her way around, especially in the first week. The staff talks to her at eye level, not from above, which is nice. They don’t accept elderly waivers, but if money runs out, they’ll help you find another place. There's a nurse on staff who communicates well with me and knows the residents. They also have specialists who visit.

"Friendly place with a homey feel"
It smelled good when we first walked in, and the people were friendly. They have a cat and a new dog, which makes the atmosphere nice. The place is big and the food is good. It's like going to a restaurant with a couple of menu options, and they serve you at the table. I did have to speak up a bit to get a few things done. It's one of the few places where the staff has been there for years, which helps them keep their employees. It is pretty expensive, though.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Pet-Friendly Atmosphere"
This place is smaller and feels like home, with cozy apartments about 88, and 30% are for independent living. It's located on France Ave between 494 & Crosstown, but there's no garage. Good news for pet lovers: they're very pet-friendly, with a house dog and cat! If you need your furry friend walked, it's $10 a day. The apartments have kitchenettes and porches, and there's even a Bistro. The staff here is always cheerful, and the food is home-cooked, no frozen stuff. They also cater to special diets. Plus, there's no move-in fee, but you might have to wait 1-3 months for a one-bedroom. They have other locations in Roseville, Golden Valley, and Minnetonka too!
