"Decent Fit with Friendly Staff"
The tour at Sunrise of Minnetonka went okay. We're choosing to care for our loved one at home full-time and don't plan to return to a facility. We visited only two places, but Sunrise felt like a good match and had friendly salespeople.

"Chose for proximity, reasonable price; clean, friendly, flexible facility."
We chose this place for its proximity and reasonable price. The small, cozy community seemed perfect for my loved one. Overall, we're very pleased. Clean, friendly, and flexible with families.

"Friendly Staff, Cost Concerns, Varied Care Levels"
This place is great for your loved one. The staff are good at talking to families about any issues. But, they need to improve how they explain costs. I got surprised by a higher price than I expected. Also, the first payment had to cover 2 months, which added stress.

"Not the Right Fit for Active Seniors"
Our family visited the place in person, and we decided it’s not the right choice for us. The cleanliness wasn’t up to par, and the whole place felt kind of dull. The folks living there seemed to struggle with getting around, but our family member likes to stay on the move.

"Friendly staff, good food, timely improvement, COVID staffing issues"
Overall, the experience was fine. Coming from a fantastic nursing home/rehab facility, it’s hard to be fair. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good but often too much. We had several issues that were handled, just not always as quickly as we hoped. Despite COVID staffing shortages, there usually seemed to be enough staff, except maybe during meals. The 4-week program allowed enough time for continued improvement and to prepare the house for the move home.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Welcoming Staff and Relaxing Memory Care"
The place feels cozy with music and delicious smells, especially the cookies. and most of the staff were great. The chef even welcomed us with nut bread. The only thing missing is a workout room. The memory care area has a relaxing room with dogs and baby dolls.

"Poor Management and Understaffing at Minnetonka Sunrise Facility"
This is not a good place to send a family member. My mother lived at Sunrise in Minnetonka. The staff there was definitely overworked and there weren't enough of them. It was almost impossible to find a manager when I needed to speak with a nurse or a supervisor. It also took them a really long time to help. The women who work there are really nice, and I can't blame them for the lack of staff. They provided great care to my mom, for which I am truly thankful. But, I wouldn't suggest this place if you need effective management overall.

"Overburdened Staff and Poor Management at Sunrise in Minnetonka"
Such a poor place to entrust a loved one! My mom was at Sunrise in Minnetonka and it was clear that there weren't enough staff members and they were overly burdened. Those in charge were never available when I needed to discuss something with a nurse or supervisor. You'd have to wait ridiculously long at times! The young ladies who work there are wonderful and I don't blame them for the short-staffing - they took great care of my mom, and for that, I will always be grateful. However, I wouldn't recommend this place if you're expecting effective management and smooth functioning of the facility overall.

"Great Activities and Friendly Atmosphere"
Everything has been going really well for my loved one. We're very happy with the facility and their staff. The friendly vibe between the residents and staff has made it easier for my loved one to adjust. The place is bright and airy, which is nice. They do a good job keeping it clean. Like most places, they have a lot of activities. My dad is part of a veteran group that meets a few times a week, which has been good for him. He's also starting to join exercise classes and religious activities. They have church services on site. Sometimes, they take the residents out to the mall or restaurants. I recommend this place to other families.

"Caring Staff, Fun Activities, Lovely Environment"
My husband stays at Sunrise of Minnetonka. I think they really care about him, and they listen when we have suggestions. They've been very nice to us, and they're usually happy. But sometimes, they don't talk enough to each other. The food is alright, and the person who plans activities is great. They do outings, crafts, bingo, exercise classes, and have a nice porch. The place looks nice, with comfy spots in the halls. My husband's studio apartment is really nice too. Overall, it's a great place, except for the communication. I'd tell others about it.

"Assisted Living with a Few Hiccups"
Wow, the facility was really nice! When I stepped inside and explored the back garden, it felt peaceful and pleasant. The assisted living option is great. As for the memory care facility, it's quite nice, but unfortunately not the right fit for Mom.

"A Nice Mix of Care Levels"
My tour went really well when I visited here. It looked pretty good and they had a whole floor for memory care, but I noticed it was a mix of assisted and independent living residents.

"Great Care!"
My father-in-law liked the caregivers at Care Builders at Home. The same young man would visit his home and assist him. Now that he’s in a nursing home, he no longer receives care from them, but he had no complaints.

"Excellent Care and Community"
I'm pleased with how well they're looking after my dad. The staff are always kind and attentive to his needs. They offer activities, but he's not joining in right now. The food is tasty, and he enjoys the different choices. I'd definitely suggest this place to others for its great care and value.

"Great Place for Seniors to Live"
The community is nice. The grounds are clean and well-kept. The food is good, but it could be better. They offer a lot of activities, but he doesn't want to join in. I would recommend this place to other families for good care.

"Great place for mom! Staff's amazing with musical activities!"
My mom is doing really good at Sunrise of Minnetonka. The place is clean, and the food is really tasty. Mom's eyesight isn't as good as before, but she loves music. I'm happy that the staff includes her in musical stuff when they happen.

"Active and Friendly Senior Community Tour Experience"
I had a good visit to this place. I think it's better suited for younger seniors. It's very lively here, with lots of energy. The people who work here are nice and polite. They gave me good information and answered my questions. The place looked neat and tidy from what I saw. Overall, I had a nice time on the tour.

"So-So Stay at Sunrise of Minnetonka"
Our time at Sunrise of Minnetonka was okay but not great. The place looked good, but the memory care services weren’t what we expected. My family member got out of their “safe” memory care area a few times during the first week. Also, I learned that having a nurse available 24/7 doesn’t mean they are always there at the facility.

"Deep Dissatisfaction with Husband's Assisted Living Facility"
I'm deeply upset with the care my husband is receiving here. The staff is seriously lacking, sometimes I fear leaving him alone. Just two people are looking after about forty residents. We've had to wait as much as an hour for bathroom assistance. The staff members are great in themselves, but clearly overworked and swamped. There's seemingly no permanent manager, just temporary staff. My decision to come here was based on numerous positive recommendations. Sadly, they don't even have a resident doctor checking in anymore. Unfortunately, I've walked in to find standing urine in the urinal and I've had to clean the floors myself. Some days the service is great, others not so much. It varies depending on the temporary staff working. The meals provided are wholesome and not bad tasting for such a large operation. However, it's troubling that the same folks aiding in the bathroom are also serving meals. The homey atmosphere was a major factor in choosing this place, yet it barely redeems these issues.

"Friendly Staff, Improvement Needed in Staffing Levels"
I think they could use more people to help out. My husband needs a lot of assistance, and sometimes it feels like they don't have enough staff to help everyone. But, I really like the workers there. They're super nice and always willing to lend a hand. It's a bit pricey, but it's about the same as other places, and I know my husband is getting good care, so it's worth it.

"Neglected Hygiene and Lack of Activity"
I had to remove my loved one from this assisted living facility due to substandard care. Basic things like bathing and grooming were not taken care of. Their socks and underwear weren’t even changed daily. Lack of movement led to them experiencing swelling in their legs and feet because they were left sitting all day. I reached out to the management before deciding to move my loved one out, but nothing improved. I would strongly advise against choosing this facility if your family member can’t advocate for themselves.

"A Good Fit with Room for Improvement"
I think this place is right for us. He's doing really well here. He has lots of space to move around. At first, there were a few problems. They gave us wrong information about the price and didn't tell us we had to buy some things, like a shower chair. It was also confusing to know who was doing what because the person helping us said they'd handle everything, but that wasn’t true. Some staff are a bit unfriendly and don’t greet us like others do. In the beginning, they were slow to respond, but it's better now. They have fun activities like music, s'mores, and fishing trips. The food isn't too bad, and there are always other choices.
