"Hidden Fees Disappoint at Glenn Hopkins"
Our family visited Glenn Hopkins for a tour, and we were excited because it’s a Catholic community where our loved one could attend mass. However, we were disappointed to find out that there were extra fees for things like assistance to the chapel, laundry, and meal delivery.

"Friendly Staff and Affordable Prices at The Glenn Hopkins"
We picked The Glenn Hopkins because of the affordable prices and the super friendly staff. Both the residents and the staff are really nice. Unlike some other places, it’s not cliquey here. The building is older, so it can get chilly, and they need new windows. Unfortunately, they’re having trouble keeping kitchen staff, which affects the food quality. Overall, I’d still recommend them, but they should make some improvements.

"Activities misrepresented, lack of integration, poor food quality disappoints."
This place isn't the best choice. It's better to get help at home instead. They promise lots of activities, but hardly anyone joins in. Before moving in, they said they had lots of card games, but that wasn't true. They didn't even try to help with that. They don't help new people fit in. The food isn't good either. It's too salty and made my loved one sick. They often don't have simple things like bananas when asked.

"Friendly place with nice staff and good outdoor space"
It's a super friendly place. Everyone is welcoming. The staff and residents are nice. The food is okay, but it was better when the dining room was open. The rooms are a good size. There's a pond, walking path, and patio out back. Lots of outdoor space.

"Disappointing Food Service in Assisted Living Facility"
My friend lives here. She often complains about the food. No toast for breakfast, no dessert at dinner. The problems continue. Residents pay for meals but receive poor service. It's awful. If I worked here, I'd buy bread myself. My friend is embarrassed to complain. So, I didn't. But these issues persist. I can't recommend it due to high charges and bad food.

"Assisted Living Facility Needs Better Staff Training and Communication"
After five months, we still have issues. My 98-year-old mother is blind and hard of hearing. Some staff members don't introduce themselves when they come into her room. They rush in and out without giving her a chance to ask questions or request more help, even though she pays for 15 minutes of service each time. It took three months to get the food service staff to follow her instructions to cut up her food. Some managers and attendants are caring and responsive, but overall, the aides need more training, especially given the high cost of care.

"Comfortable Assisted Living Facility with Considerate Staff"
This place is really nice. My mom has been here for a while now, starting from when she could take care of herself to now needing some help. The rooms are good, there are different ones to choose from, and they take good care of them. The people who work here are really nice and professional, and they've done a lot to make my mom feel at home. Sometimes things don't go perfectly, but the nurses are always ready to help fix any problems. They have activities for residents too, depending on what they need.

"Very large facility with many amenities and services available"
I visited this place, and it was okay. It’s really big—so big that even I might get lost if I lived there. The facility seemed well cared for and maintained. Being so large, it had more options and services available. There was a big staff too. Overall, it was much bigger than what my parents would have liked. They offered various amenities and activities, including a large chapel, crafts, games, and an onsite salon.

"Assisted Living Facility Tour Review"
We visited this place for a tour. The tour was good. They answered all my questions. The place looked nice. They had a list of daily things to do and a menu for food. But it felt empty to me. I hardly saw any staff or residents. It didn't seem right for my brother.

"Nice place with good staff, but activities could improve"
My loved ones really enjoy their apartment here. The staff is great, but they could offer more activities. The community is clean, and the grounds are beautiful. The location is good. They provide ten meals a week, and the food is okay. The cost seems a bit high for what is offered. I would recommend checking out this community.

"Good, Safe, and Friendly Community for My Mom"
My mother is doing well in this community. She is still adjusting, but I feel good about her move. It's a safe place, and so far everything is going well. The staff is nice, respectful, and polite. They offer activities too. Everything is good for us here, and I would recommend it.

"Lots of Fun Things to Do!!"
My folks are adjusting to their new home after living in their house for 40 years. The staff is super helpful and understanding. There's always something to do, so they're never bored. No issues yet! The shared spaces are always clean and tidy. And the food? Delicious! Overall, it's a great place to live.

"Great Care For The Right Type Of Person"
Our time at The Glen Hopkins was pretty good, except my husband got asked to leave because he was a bit too active. Overall, it’s an excellent community for the right person with the right care. The place looks really nice, and cleanliness isn’t a concern. The staff is mostly great, and the care here suits the right individual. A Place For Mom was a big help, especially Patricia [removed]. If you’re considering moving here, make sure your loved one’s level of care is accepted. Very grateful for A Place For Mom.

"Great Place, Needs Better Orientation for Newcomers"
Overall, I'm really happy and I think my mom is too. The only thing I noticed is there could be more help for new people. They need better orientation and help for newcomers to get used to everything. Otherwise, I am very pleased. The staff is very helpful and nice, and it’s a good choice.

"Quiet and Clean Assisted Living with Friendly Staff"
The place at St. Therese Southwest looks and smells super clean. It's quiet and nice, with really friendly staff. But if seniors are still pretty active, it might not be the best fit.

"Comfortable Assisted Living with Varied Activities, Friendly Atmosphere"
This place is really nice. There are lots of things to do, and most of the people who live here are pretty old, about 83 on average. The apartments are cozy, and the people who fix things are quick and good at their job. There's a bus that's easy to use, and the driver is nice. The food is okay, sometimes really good. Overall, it's a good place to live.

My parents are adjusting nicely at St. Theresa's. They are enjoying many activities like playing bridge, doing physical therapy, going to barbecues, and boat outings. We have been very pleased so far.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"
Mother has been here 3+ years. Place is very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Meals uninspired and bland, though most of the wait staff (mostly young students) are cheerful and friendly. Additional services are very expensive and a very poor value. Tenants are required to pay for cable, whether used or not. Med and nursing management easily add $350 to $500 per month, for minimal service, and management (Gentle Touch) is argumentative, defensive, and need to be checked on constantly. My mom's been here for over 3 years. The place is super clean, and the staff is really nice and helpful. The food isn't very exciting, but most of the wait staff (who are mostly young students) are cheerful. The extra services cost a lot and aren't worth it. Also, tenants have to pay for cable, even if they don't use it. The people in charge (Gentle Touch management) argue a lot and need constant checking.

"Great for Independent Living, But Too Big for Mom"
This place was way too big for my mom to get around easily. It looked nice, but it was huge. I didn't like that they separated assisted living and independent living, so you'd have to move if you needed more care. Also, the hallways were dark and smelled. In the assisted living area, there were a lot of wheelchairs. They had a café and a dining room, but it was too much for my mom. I think she would have gotten lost. There were many floors and hallways, but it's a beautiful facility. If you're living independently, I think this would be a great place.

"Getting Better Every Day"
This place would be better if there were more people like me. Some parts of the community are getting better, and you can see the changes. The food service is one of the areas improving. The staff didn't seem to care before, but since they got a new manager, they've really stepped up. They're doing a much better job, and you can tell they'll keep getting better. It's a country-like setting with a few garden spots where residents can grow their own gardens.

"Better for older people"
My sister lives at The Terraces assisted living. It’s about the same price as other places, but they charge extra for everything. We pay a lot, but she doesn’t get many additional services. They don’t even take her for walks without an added fee. Sometimes they forget to bring her back after meals and charge her for assistance. She avoids activities because they’re all for older folks, and she’s only 65. Movie nights feature old films she’s not interested in. She feels out of place.

"Feeling Isolated Among Older Residents"
I feel pretty lonely here because most of the residents are much older than me—some are even 20 years older. But since my husband is 13 years older than me, he's adjusting well.
