"Homestead at Anoka: A Socially Engaging Experience!"
We've had a great experience at The Homestead at Anoka. Mom loves the activities, like the old car show and Elvis music. While I can't speak to the food, I bring her homemade meals. She's more social here than at home. I'd recommend it to family and friends.

"Inadequate Staff and Bad Patient Care At Assisted Living Facility"
This place might look nice, but they treat their patients terribly! My mom phoned me at 4 in the morning, scared and disoriented. When I rushed over there, I spotted a staff member sleeping on a couch! They don't have enough people working there. Only 2 workers for 20 patients - that's just not enough. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

"Mixed Feelings About the Tour"
Our family took an in-person tour, which was nice, but it didn’t quite match our needs.

"Active Community Engagement Despite COVID Restrictions"
I recommend choosing this community. They organize activities for residents despite COVID.

"Homestead: Clean, Caring, and Convenient"
We picked The Homestead for my mother-in-law because it's clean, the staff is professional, and it has high ceilings with modern decorations and lovely outdoor spaces. They offer different care levels, so she won't need to move if her needs change. I'd recommend it to others.

"Assisted Living Chaos: Understaffed and Oversized"
We visited The Homestead, but it felt busy. There's just one person at the front desk handling COVID checks. It'd be better if they had more help. Also, the place seemed too big for our family member.

"Homestead Review: Good Tour, Some Policy Drawbacks"
[name removed] showed us around really well. Homestead is short on staff right now. If you move from living on your own to needing more help, you can’t stay in your apartment. Also, if your own money isn’t enough after two years, you can’t stay.

"Assisted Living with Spacious Rooms and Caring Nursing Staff"
We chose The Homestead because it was spacious with a large apartment, which my mom loved most. She wasn't happy with the food, likely due to COVID causing cold deliveries. Eating in the dining room might improve the experience. When my mom became very ill, the nursing staff provided excellent care. I would recommend it to others.

"Cozy Assisted Living with Spiritual Services"
We like it here. The place feels cozy and safe. The food is okay, but could be better. Lots of activities available. We appreciate the spiritual services. I'd recommend it.

"Friendly staff, but food complaints persist."
Everything seems neat and new during visits. The weekend staff is super friendly. The only issue I’ve heard about is the food.

"How I chose The Homestead at Anoka"
My mom moved to The Homestead in October 2017 after being in hospice care at another assisted living facility since July. At first, I was hesitant because of a few bad reviews. But someone reminded me that people are more likely to write a negative review based on one bad experience than a positive one, even if everything else was great. They were right! I scheduled a tour and was very impressed by the amenities, cleanliness, and friendly staff. The building felt modern and had lots of natural light, which was important to my mom. The large, private rooms, comfortable gathering areas, and daily activities made it feel nothing like a typical nursing home. When my mom moved in, she actually perked up because the staff took such good care of her. Although she passed away just two months later, I’m glad we chose The Homestead. It was the right choice, and I’m grateful to the staff.

"Our tour"
This place was tidy, and the folks we talked to were friendly. But it felt more like a hospital than an active community. We wanted something livelier.

"Lovely New Place, Honest Staff, But Lacks Necessary Care Suite"
This place is really nice and new. The rooms are just right and have big windows. When we talked to the people showing us around, they said my husband needs more care than they can give in assisted living. They were upfront about it, which I liked. The chapel was really nice too.

"Mixed Experience: Nice Place, but Not Perfect for Me"
This place is okay. It has good and bad sides. My visit was fine, but they didn't have everything I needed. I wanted a place with laundry and pet-friendly policies. It's nice here, but not exactly what I was looking for.

"Comfortable Living for Mom"
My mom loves the continental breakfast here. They're planning a Christmas party soon, and the place is always spotless. Her apartment is cozy with lots of space and natural light. The only downside is the waitlist for a garage. Overall, we highly recommend it

"Communication Needs Improvement"
My folks are doing fine at this place. They're settled and I'm happy. It's tidy, and their place is cozy. The workers look after them alright, but talking to me could improve. Mom and Dad like the food; it's good enough. They're content, and I'd suggest this spot.
