"“Caring Daughter and Virtual Visits at Assisted Living”"
My daughter takes care of me most of the time. We do virtual visits often, and I stay here for three days each month.

"Mixed Experience at The Waters Community"
We've mostly liked The Waters community. Our loved one gets good services, and safety is a plus. The place stays clean, and activities are enjoyable. Meals aren't a hit, but there's an alternative menu. The therapy services changes caused some issues.

"Only Good for Fully Independent Seniors, Lacks Community Feel"
If you're an older person who can take care of yourself completely, this place might work for you. But if you need any help, I wouldn't recommend it. Some staff members are great, but others seem to be just going through the motions and don't seem to care much about the residents. The community doesn't feel close-knit.

"Disappointing Experience: Assisted Living Facility Review"
I really wanted to like this place because it looks nice. I thought it would be good for my dad who has dementia. But the nurses are very busy, and they don't communicate well. This caused some problems, like giving my dad the wrong medicine, which could have been dangerous. I had to tell the state about it. Make sure you read the lease carefully! The Waters is really expensive, and the care isn't as good as other places. When my dad needed more care in a special memory unit and wanted to keep his dog with him, The Waters couldn't help. We had to pay for six weeks of rent even after he left because of this. I spent a lot of money on rent for care he didn't get. I didn't realize how bad The Waters was until I visited other places and moved my dad. I'm happy I moved him, but I'm upset about how much money we had to spend because of The Waters.

"Care Lacking for Long-Term Dementia Patients"
The place looks good, and there’s usually someone around to give out meds. My dad lived on the “memory care” level for a couple of years. But the workers don’t stick around long, and they’re not really trained up, especially not for dementia. They say it’s “specialty care,” but I’m not so sure. It might be okay for someone who’s just hurt and needs a place to get better for a little while. But if your loved one has trouble remembering and gets mixed up a lot, this might not be the best spot. They don’t seem ready to handle that kind of thing. Near the end, my dad often got mixed up and upset, which happens with dementia, and the staff didn’t know what to do. They even called the cops once, and it was scary because it seemed like my dad might get in big trouble or get hurt. In the end, they said they couldn’t keep him there anymore. They also wouldn’t give back the cash we paid for the next month that he wasn’t even going to be there.

"Satisfactory Stay at The Waters of Highland Park"
I believe The Waters of Highland Park is pretty okay for the services it provides. The sizes of the rooms and the way the place is set up are just right. My time spent at The Waters of Highland Park has been good.

"Abysmal Memory Care Unit, Deception & Neglect Abound"
The first floor is just lovely, but stepping into the memory care unit is like a scary bad dream! They totally did not look after my loved one properly, and our family was deceived about the care being provided, doctor's appointments, and more. Staffing changed quickly, and the ones who stayed mostly did just enough to get by. Even straightforward requests were ignored. I would strongly discourage anyone from choosing their memory care unit.

"Good Food, But Service and Maintenance Fall Short"
The workers here don’t really know how to handle older people. If someone starts to forget things, they just tell the family but don’t help out after that. It’s also hard to get things fixed. Even easy fixes took a really long time. They’re supposed to clean every week, but they often don’t. The apartments have big kitchens, but it’s not necessary because we get our meals made for us. Some places have outside spaces, but the air system is too noisy to enjoy it. The best thing about this place is the food—it’s actually pretty tasty.

"Great Food, Poor Service at Assisted Living Facility"
The staff at this assisted living community aren't experienced enough to handle aging individuals, especially if there are any signs of dementia. Rather than providing helpful solutions, they often just complain to the family without doing any further follow-up. Their maintenance services are disappointing as well, as it took an awfully long time to get simple repairs done in the apartment. Also, it seems like they completely ignore their scheduled weekly cleaning services. The apartments themselves have huge kitchens, but it feels unnecessary considering the meal service that they provide. Some apartments have balconies, which could be enjoyable; however, the super loud HVAC system ruins the peaceful atmosphere. The only thing this place seems to excel at is their food, which is actually pretty tasty.

"Great care and value for families"
The community is great, and the staff is always helpful. They make improvements when needed. It’s clean, and the menu has many healthy options. I like that she stays active with other residents. I would recommend this place for good care and value to other families.
