"Great care, fun activities, and a caring new director!"
We made a fantastic choice moving our loved one to the Pillars of White Bear over a year ago. The Pillars offers lots of musical activities, and the activities director makes sure everyone has fun and feels cared for. The meal choices are great, and the front desk staff always know our names. The new director, [name removed], has made many improvements and is often seen talking with residents or staff. It’s a wonderful place!

"Unwelcoming Staff, Bad Food, Poor Management"
The people at the front desk aren’t nice at all, not on weekdays or weekends. The place isn’t run well. The meals taste bad, cost too much, and you don’t get enough. Whenever I have questions, it seems like nobody has the answers. They made me pay 60 bucks for “maintenance” but can’t tell me what it’s for.

"“Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Care and Communication”"
When we first brought Mom here, the staff was super friendly. But now, some of them don’t even say ‘hi’ when they pass her in the hallway. The people at the front desk don’t seem to know much and aren’t very helpful either. The food is pretty bad—small portions, and the bread and desserts are stale. Definitely not worth the price they charge. And those grocery store trips? They happen way too early. They should switch to afternoons for the seniors. Overall, it’s poorly managed, and the staff doesn’t communicate well with the residents.
