"Neglected Seniors: Mismanagement, Threats and Neglect in Assisted Living Facility"

The assisted living facility needs serious improvements. They constantly operated with bare minimum staffing, often just one employee who started out good. Over time, however, it seems as though her mental health began to decline, the responsibility of caring for everyone became too much. What's more, the one time they did get extra assistance, that person stole medications. Eventually, I was able to find a better place for my mom. But on the day we left, the administrator shared a wild theory about my mother having live rats in her body, placed there by the government. This was extremely concerning, to say the least. The facility routinely ran out of food and other necessary goods, the residents were often served cold cheese sandwiches as meals. On top of all this, they asked me to stay once so the only employee could run errands. The place should've been closed until there was a competent staff in place. Or at least, the district managers should've stepped in and assisted until a stable staff could be hired. They somehow found it acceptable to repeatedly hire a woman with assault charges from her previous employment at another nursing home. My mother certainly did not feel safe around her. This woman would yell at my mother and I often observed her smoking and chatting on the phone for hours, completely neglecting the residents during her shift. Despite knowing she was unable to handle the job, they kept hiring her anyway. She once even asked for my help to sort out my mom's medications because she couldn't figure it out. Although the original administrator and one employee were good, there still wasn't enough support. Even after several promises of hiring more staff, nothing improved after 6 months. I believe in such circumstances, it's the district manager's responsibility to step in until the facility is properly staffed. In my honest opinion, I wouldn't even leave my dog at this facility.

"Insufficient Staffing and Neglect at Ashbury Heights"

The Ashbury Heights facility didn't have enough workers. One person was always working, trying to support everyone living there. They need more staff. Until they fix that, I suggest looking for other places for your family. They serve three meals every day, but they never change the menu. The one worker they had was really nice, but they had to sleep on the job. I was worried because the residents were often left alone.

"Poorly Lit Facility. Chaotic, Forgetful Staff."

We strongly disliked the facility. It was so bad that we made a U-turn the moment we got in. The place was gloomy, messy, and the employees completely forgot our schedule.
