" Concerns with Medication Management and Bathroom Flooding at Facility "
The people working here are nice and the place looks spotless, giving off a warm feel. But, I'm a bit concerned that they have too much trust in my mom when it comes to her medications. They just drop them off without making sure she actually takes them. Additionally, my mom takes her baths by herself. The problem is, there's something off about the way the shower's designed as it always ends up flooding her bathroom after she uses it.

"Mixed Review: Caring Staff, Tasty Meals, but Improvements Needed"
The staff at the assisted living facility is caring and Mom adores them. But, there's an issue with communication. The meals are good and abundant, but they don't cater to Mom's diabetic needs. The move-in process was okay, we had to request multiple times for assistance with tv setup and hanging pictures. Mom's apartment is beautiful, however, the bathroom and kitchenette need modernizing. They don't have a built-in safe shower seat - we had to buy one separately. Laundry service is efficient and timely. The apartment cleaning could be better - they vacuum, handle garbage, and clean the bathroom, but we had to call twice to replace a bathroom lightbulb. Despite these issues, I would still suggest this facility - I've seen others in worse conditions - but improvements are needed.

""Unhappiness at Autumn View Gardens Despite Friendly Staff""
Autumn View Gardens isn't a bad place to live. The best part for our family is how nice everyone who works there is.

"Decent Tour, Facility Old and Dark"
I visited Autumn View Gardens for a loved one. The tour was decent, but the place itself appeared old and dim. That's why we decided not to pick them.

"Positive Staff and Facilities; Concerns about Medical Transparency"
The staff here are nice and dedicated. The building is really clean and in good condition. The price here seems reasonable when compared to others. The only issue I have is that they occasionally leave my mom to take her medications herself and the doctor doesn't share details of her care, like bloodwork results.

"Unimpressed by Dark, Dingy Assisted Living Facility"
I visited this place but didn't like what I saw. It looked bleak and dirty to me. They were about to start updating it, so maybe it's better now. But that's how I felt when I toured it recently.

"Autumn View Gardens: Great Place, Bad Location"
We were torn between choosing Autumn View Gardens and another place. We ended up picking the other spot because of its location. However, Autumn View looked like a wonderful place for a family member.

"Complete Disregard; Unfit for Family Members"
This place is terrible. The staff don't care at all. They ignore the needs of the people living here. I wouldn't dare leave any of my family members in this place.

" "Thoughtfully Renovated Facility with Cheerful Residents and Great Food""
The facility is nearly finished with its face-lift. Attractive colors have been chosen, new, cozy furniture put in place, and wall treatments applied. I had the opportunity to dine there, where I enjoyed a scrumptious turkey, bacon, and cheese croissant, alongside potato salad and cake. All were quite enjoyable. Earlier that day, there had been a pancake bar hosted by the management team for the residents. They could pick their favorite toppings: blueberries, lush whipped cream, rich chocolate! Delicious! I also had a walk around the dining room and spent some time at a few tables. The tenants seemed cheerful and were engaged in friendly conversations. A physical therapist was spotted assisting a lady on the main floor. There was plenty of socializing happening in the shared spaces. The atmosphere felt highly positive!

"Conflicting Assisted Living Facility Reality and Promises"
We've run into several problems. The tour and welcome packet seemed promising, but it's clear they don't offer it all. If we weren't constantly present, we wouldn't know what was happening. This isn't a place to leave your loved one unchecked. We had trouble with the medicine log - they logged times when we knew Mom was with us. It took four contradicting stories before the truth came out. We're unsure if she's getting her medication. The activities are hit or miss. One person plans them, but they seem more for filling time than genuine fun. Basic supplies may not be provided unless we check ourselves. They said they'd ensure Mom attended every meal, but that's not the case. They usually expect residents to go to meals independently. Our mom has dementia and often forgets meal times, so we try to ensure she's prompted to eat. Her self-care skills aren't sufficient now and there were times she hadn't showered for days. We're constantly present to ensure they fulfill their duties. The meals we've tried were subpar - salads or ham and cheese sandwiches - akin to what you'd find at middle school. Despite a 30-minute conversation about Mom's nutritional needs, they serve the same food to everyone. We're mostly disappointed because the reality does not match what they initially advertised. They do provide some social interaction, good for her, and we appreciate a few staff members who genuinely care for her. However, the many issues we've encountered are disheartening.

" "Assisted Living Neglect: Dismal Outside Walk Area and Poor Care Services""
Assisted Living Facility Lacks Essential Services and Proper Attention." The only outdoor walking space for regular residents at this assisted living facility is a sidewalk that leads to the parking lot from the building's front. The lovely garden on the lower level is strictly for memory care residents! Sure, they've done some nice renovations inside the building, but good looks aren't everything. Often times, the reception desk is unmanned, so residents can't venture outside or return without assistance. My mother, who only requires help showering, managing her medication, and escorting to meals and the only activity she enjoys – church services – is not getting the support she needs. On our initial tour, I was told they offered Christian services, as crucial to her. However, we discovered it is held only once a month, and there's no effort to ensure her participation. I've experienced four instances where no one showed up to help her to meals. On one occasion, I noticed a large bruise on her leg (she couldn't recall where she got it), and they failed to detect it despite assisting her with showers. I rang for assistance and waited for almost an hour before anyone showed up. Lastly, I found her heart monitor unplugged during my last visit.

""Better Food and Cleanup Needed, But Good Progress and Management""
They need to do better with serving meals and keeping the place clean regularly. But we've seen several good changes, and the person in charge is easy to deal with.

"Pleasant Visit, Unchosen Due to Overcrowded, Institutional Air"
Our tour of Autumn View Gardens was pleasant enough. It was awesome to see they offered animal therapy, bringing smaller creatures in for the residents to interact with. But the place was quite big and seemed overrun with people. It had a more institutional feel to us, which is why we ended up not choosing them.

"Unimpressed with Assisted Living Setup"
This place didn't impress me at all. The way they arranged the place and where they put the residents looked just like a regular nursing home. I had hoped for something different for my family member.

"Highly considering facility despite scheduling hiccup"
My sibling and I arrived for a tour that we'd booked through a website, but somehow, they had no information about our scheduled visit. Unexpectedly, the person in charge of activities, whose name I'll omit, had just come in and kindly agreed to show us around. She was fantastic, just like every other staff member we came across - so warm and welcoming. The people living there even expressed how much they loved it. We're seriously considering moving our sister here soon.

"Great Tour and Friendly Environment in the Facility"
Our tour of the place was great. We saw everything - rooms, residents, and all the different areas in the facility. The people living there were nice, and so were the staff. The person showing us around was really nice too. They told us all about the place in a good way.

"Satisfied with Autumn View Gardens but Keep Track of Care"
We brought her to Autumn View Gardens first, and she swiftly took a liking to the friendly people there. She was also pleased with the apartment size, as it met her needs perfectly. Seeing no need to explore other options, this place has proven to be a satisfactory choice as she is content here. If I were to give a piece of advice to others, it would be to bring clear instructions from your doctor and keep an eye out to make sure they're being followed.

We virtually visited Autumn View Gardens with a really friendly and detailed girl guiding us. She covered all our questions perfectly. The place seemed quite good too. However, my mom has particular health issues that they admitted they couldn't manage.
