Benton House of Blue Springs

"Good Service, but Care Levels Fell Short"
The folks here are really kind, and we totally enjoyed all the fun stuff they had to do. But the thing is, they didn’t offer the kind of help we were hoping for. It sure would’ve been nice to figure that out when we first got started. We chose this place 'cause it was open and close to our family. We needed a spot that offered normal care and also helped people remember things better.

"Inviting Appearance, Friendly Staff, Meals Need Improvement"
We liked how the community looks when you walk in; it's welcoming. The staff is friendly. The meals were good initially, but our family and loved one feel they've gotten worse and need improvement.

"Quality Care at Benton House"
We really enjoyed our tour at Benton House. Among all the places we considered, they seemed to provide the best care. Back then, the cost was too steep for us, but in hindsight, I'd gladly pay more for the improved quality of care.

"Friendly Staff, Beautiful Facility, Room for Improvement in Activities"
We chose Benton House of Blue Springs for its friendly staff, beautiful facility, and courtyard view from her room. The spacious bathroom is wheelchair-accessible. Staff are caring and attentive. More encouragement for activities and better variety needed. Shuttle service fee is $50 even for local appointments, not included in rent. Overall, recommend to others.

"Inadequate Care and Unprofessionalism at Benton House"
If your family really cares for your loved ones, keep them miles away from this place. The so-called 'memory care unit' might as well be a circus. Over and over, they've proven themselves incapable of properly treating people with dementia. Although it's one of Jackson County's priciest spots, the high cost doesn't mean high quality. We soon realized that beneath its fancy new facade hid a place that will surely gain a bad rep soon. Even more shocking, the nurse there just fights with patients and their families! My frail, 93-year-old grandma was rushed to the ER, accused of being 'combative' just because the nurse couldn’t stop arguing with her rather than calming her down. The real kicker came when we moved her to Villages at Jackson Creek. We learned that we weren't the only ones to flee Benton House because it's just not equipped to handle people with dementia or Alzheimer's. I can't stress this enough - do your homework before you pick Benton House. The move was tough on my grandma and I put that blame squarely on Benton House.

"Disappointing Assistance with Oxygen Use at Assisted Living Facility"
If your family member needs oxygen help, this place won’t do. They can give meds and shots but won’t assist with oxygen units for outings.

"Mixed Feelings but Ultimately Recommendable Assisted Living Community"
My sister-in-law hasn't fully settled in since moving here. They're doing their best to help her, and we appreciate it. The community is good, and we're happy with what they've done overall. There are a few small things we'd like to see improved, but overall, we're satisfied with her move here. I'd recommend this place; it's nice.

"Mismatched Atmosphere"
The tour my loved one and I took of this community went well. The staff were friendly and took their time showing us the facility. They had many great amenities for residents, but the atmosphere didn't match my father's personality.

"Warm Staff, Clean Facility, Great Activities!"
I visited this place and had a good time. The people who work there were really nice and acted professionally when I met them. They even let us try their food, which was cool. They have lots of activities and events for the people who live there, which seems fun. The rooms were all neat and clean when I saw them, which was awesome. It wasn't right for my mom, but I'd tell anyone else to check it out.

"A Perfect Fit for Mom"
My mom's furniture fits nicely in the apartment we chose for her. It looks great with the apartment's decor. We visited on a Sunday for a tour, and the staff were friendly and the place was clean. It wasn't too big, which felt better for us. The atmosphere was positive, which really mattered. My mom wasn't quite ready to be on her own.

"Mom's New Home: Okay Community, Limited Care"
It's an okay place. They have lots of activities for residents. Mom didn't participate much. We liked that it was nearby. Mom has to move because they can't care for her.
