"Safe place, meals could improve, overworked attendants."
Cedarhurst of St. Charles: Safe, memory unit, meals could improve. Attendants overworked.

"Good Staff, Moving Out Tough, Needs Better Communication"
The people who serve food here are awesome! Getting settled in went pretty well, but leaving was a different story. It’s tough to get someone on the phone when you need to talk. I guess if you’re healthy and don’t need much help, this place would be alright.

"Untrustworthy Facility Fails to Provide Proper Care for Elderly Mom"
I had my Mom stay at this place for supposed two weeks, but we didn't even make it past 6 days. This place was a mess, really. They had everything they needed to take good care of Mom, including her medication list that I gave them, not once, but twice. But every day, it was one problem after another, whether it's messing up her meds or not respecting her rights. It was a complete mess. At one point, Mom's meds got messed up so badly she started seeing things and falling down... It took me over a week to help her recover after we had to pull her out of there early. It's clear they don't have enough staff. I wouldn't trust this place with anyone you care about.

"Cedarhurst of St. Charles is recommended for its care and community."
I liked living at Cedarhurst of St. Charles. They were really nice to my mom and I would suggest it to others. She's doing well, her room was clean, and the food was great. The other people who live there were friendly and kind too.

"Mixed Feelings on Cedarhurst of St. Charles Assisted Living Tour"
Our family visited Cedarhurst of St. Charles in person, and the tour was great. We liked their overall philosophy. The staff were friendly. Whether the promised services would meet expectations remained uncertain. However, we were not impressed with the aesthetics and rooms. The memory care location on a lower floor felt basement-like. Ultimately, the facility's location wasn't convenient for all family members.

"Unbearable experience; Can't recommend to friends"
We moved my family member out after just one month because the place was extremely horrendous. The overall experience was dreadful. I would definitely advise a friend to choose another location for their loved one.

"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living"
My mom's time here has mostly been great. The place is clean. The daytime staff is wonderful, but evenings and weekends could be better. When my mom needs help using her emergency button, sometimes she waits for over thirty minutes, and occasionally the staff is rude. She likes the food, and they are nice about giving her alternatives if she doesn't like what they serve. She recently started joining the activities and enjoys them a lot. The cost would be better justified if the evening and weekend staff were more caring and quicker to respond. I know not everyone gets along, but they are paid to care for the elderly, so I think they should hire more empathetic and understanding staff.

Our family member didn't get great care at this place, so they really need to step up their game in providing better service.

"Hopeful Despite Issues at Assisted Living"
The folks here are really giving it their all with the fun stuff they plan, and what they come up with is pretty good. But the big issue is the chow. They say it’s fancy cafe eats, but it’s not even close. Plus, they’ve gotta step up their game in talking to each other. The crew is super nice to deal with, but it’s like they’re not on the same page. Like, when they switch up the rules for staying healthy, one person tells you one thing, and then someone else says something different. They really need to get their act together on this. But hey, there’s a new boss in charge now, so fingers crossed he’ll sort things out. Also, they used to bring food right to folks’ rooms, but now you gotta go to the eating place. That’s kinda hit or miss too. Sometimes, they forget to ask what you wanna eat, so come dinner time, you might be left with an empty plate. The helpers are total sweethearts and they try to make everyone happy, but there’s a bunch of stuff they need to fix up.

"Substandard Care and Overwhelming Open Spaces Unpleasant"
Absolutely not. It's quite sad. There seem to be insufficient caregivers for the broad array of cognitive and physical needs of the residents. The facility has large open areas, yet it's overwhelming with nothing that really pulls it all together.

My mom's stuff got stolen, her room smelled bad, and they left us without water.
