"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short of Expectations"
I'm glad to share that Mom moved out yesterday. She's lost a lot of weight because the food wasn't appetizing, and you have to order a week in advance. Who knows what you'll want a week from now? They never have BBQ on the fancy patio. The washing machine schedule doesn't work because they have 30-minute time slots, and the machine takes 40 minutes, so it's always messed up. I can't recommend this place because they didn't meet Mom's needs.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living"
I'm in a wheelchair, and the small rooms with carpet made it tough to move around. They stopped housekeeping due to the virus, and the accountant charged for everything. The staff was mostly friendly.

"Mixed Feelings About Units"
My parents enjoyed the shared spaces, but they found the individual units less appealing.

"Friendly staff and nice apartments at Gambrill Gardens"
We visited Gambrill Gardens. They were improving their food service. They had only one meal a day, which was fine. The apartments were nice, and the location was good for our son, so we were thinking about it. They had many activities and laundry services. The one-bedroom units had a full kitchen, plus a separate living and dining area. The staff was very good. We had a nice lunch there. They talked to us while we were eating and were very friendly.

"Friendly atmosphere with promising upgrades."
Our family chose Gambrill Gardens for mom because of the cost and how friendly everyone was when we visited. We checked out several other places, but most felt rushed and unwelcoming. At Gambrill, everyone seemed happy. The recent construction has caused some temporary issues, but we’re looking forward to the upgrades. There are some long hallways, but there are elevators, and as mom passes by, it seems like everyone knows each other by name.

"Negative review about excessive charges and poor food at Gambrill Gardens."
Watch out for Gambrill Gardens. Unlike other places, they aren't all-inclusive and they will find a way to charge you for everything. It wouldn't surprise me if they found a way to make you pay for the air you breathe. You are required to buy their food. And, unfortunately, their 'chef' is far from award-winning. The food lacks color and flavor, and it's served in an unclean construction space. The portions are small and no extras are allowed, leaving you hungry back in your room. If you order a dinner salad, you won't be allowed to have their tiny serving of cottage cheese, which is the only thing they seem to value. Remember, you are obligated to pay for this food. Even though other senior housing often includes internet, basic cable, and phone for free, here you have to pay for them. You are also charged for common activities. There's even a cost for a weekly trip to the store, for Sunday bingo, and choir. It feels like the management view this place as a dumping ground for the elderly. So, for the sake of your loved ones, avoid this place. I expect nothing but things to get worse.

"Beware: Gambrill Gardens, A Costly Disappointment for Assisted Living"
Stay away from Gambrill Gardens! Despite saying it's all-inclusive, it's far from the case. They'll nickel and dime you for everything. You'll even worry they're going to charge you for breathing with how they run things. The food is a joke. You're made to pay for at least one meal a day, but it's barely edible. The food's dull, lackluster and flavorless shared in an unclean setting. The portions are so small, you'll end up leaving the table still hungry. And don't think you're allowed any extras - one ‘luxurious’ serving of cottage cheese is all you're getting if you're even eligible. Then there's the technology. Want internet, basic cable, or even a phone in your room? Guess what, those cost extra too. This is shocking as many other assisted living facilities often include these services for free. Oh, and don't even get me started on the activities. They'll charge you for those too - even for things as basic as a weekly shopping trip or Sunday Bingo and choir. It's just sad seeing how they've turned caring for the elderly into a profit-making business. If you care about your elderly loved ones, please consider other places for their assisted living. Because based on my experience, things are only going to go downhill from here at Gambrill Gardens.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Facility's Size and Dining Policies"
The community seemed nice overall. They're starting renovations soon. It felt too big. Rooms were pleasant. One drawback: meals must be pre-ordered 10 days ahead.

"Friendly staff and great location!"
The staff is friendly and welcoming! It's a wonderful place in a perfect spot, close to everything! There’s a great space for walking when the weather is nice. They have many room size options. It's a nice place to live, and the upcoming renovations will make it even better!

"Sharp Decline in Resident Satisfaction at Assisted Living Facility"
The golden era of this facility, when it was under Methodist management, is sadly a thing of the past. If you were to randomly ask the residents, you'll find that they are deeply unhappy with the recent changes. You should investigate what the long-standing inhabitants actually think about all the alterations made! Be careful not to wind up in an unsatisfactory living place! A large number of residents have already left, and 90% of the original, preferred staff have been dismissed. Remember, this is a major choice that impacts your life, so make sure to do your research before settling down. There are certainly other facilities that are managed better and make their residents happier.
