"Alarming Drop in Care Quality at Mum's Assisted Living Facility"
When my mother first moved into this assisted living facility, everything seemed fine. But when the COVID pandemic took hold, things rapidly deteriorated. My mother managed to remain unaffected by the virus and was even asymptomatic. However, restrictions prevented me from being able to see her living conditions firsthand. I've actually worked in similar facilities for many years and had a feeling that the quality of care was dropping off, plunging from a 5-star service down to a 1-star. After suffering her first substantial fall, my mother's health declined noticeably. I was allowed to spend limited time with her during her hospital visits, but otherwise, our interactions were limited. The last time I visited her during her hospice care, I was horrified to discover that she had severely neglected teeth and skin, a clear sign that the regular 2-hour check-ups she was supposed to be receiving were not happening. Now, I can't say everyone on staff was bad. There were a few caregivers who were truly wonderful with my mother. I continue to pray for my mother hoping that she's finally free from the pain she went through.

"Mixed Feelings Amid Pandemic"
The assisted living facility was okay, except during the pandemic. The staff were nice to deal with.
