"Mixed Feelings on Costs, Happy with Care and Updates"
My mom is happier there, and I receive updates on her well-being. Her room is lovely, but the dining costs are too high."

"Aggressive Dog at Assisted Living; Unjust Ban After Incident"
I visited my mom at Sunrise Senior Living in Chesterfield where she has lived for nearly a year. This place has a super noisy and mean dog running around loose. The moment I walked through the main door, the dog at Sunrise Chesterfield ran at me, barking really loud. It put its head down and started to growl and shake its head quickly. I was scared! I tried to kick the dog away and failed. A woman there told me I was no longer allowed on the property. She called herself the executive director. Huh? This dog, behaving badly and clearly overwhelmed, shouldn't be around seniors and their families.

"Overall positive."
The assisted living facility was nice, staff friendly, but pricey.

"Sunrise Falls Short on Residents' Well-Being"
Sunrise doesn't really care about what's best for the people who live there. I chose it because I didn't know any better. It was just easy.

"Challenges and Disappointments at Assisted Living"
The building and rooms at the assisted living place looked great, and it was in a nice spot. But that’s pretty much the only good part. We had a tough time talking to the people running the place. They were hard to get on the phone, and they didn’t call us back. Even when we were there, we couldn’t talk to them, even though they were supposed to be around. We didn’t get info about what stuff they had for my dad and what we needed to bring, like tissues and toilet paper. So we were confused about what to give him. They didn’t tell us when they would wash his clothes or clean his room. His stuff, like blankets and clothes, would go missing and sometimes not come back. His room was often dirty, with old food and trash left around. Some of the staff were okay, like one caregiver he liked and one nurse who seemed to really care. But others didn’t seem trained enough or had trouble talking to him because of language differences. They wouldn’t use safety belts to help move him, even though he was big and could fall easily. This led to him getting hurt and bruised. We talked to the sales manager, who listened to us, but the problems didn’t stop. The place seemed short on staff, and they needed more training. It felt like they had too many people to take care of, and my dad didn’t get the attention he needed. Because of this, he even missed a whole dialysis appointment once. And sometimes, he didn’t get breakfast until late, which was bad because he has diabetes. I could say more, but this shows the kind of care he got—or didn’t get. I wouldn’t suggest this place because they need more staff and better training.

"Care Needs Improvement; Responsive to Concerns"
My husband needed a lot of care. From what we saw, I think they need to improve their training. Sometimes, he didn't get a shower when he was supposed to because the staff didn't know. If they paid the staff more and expected better work, that might help. But they always listened to our worries.

"Mixed Feelings About Sunrise Facility"
Sunrise didn’t really wow me. Sometimes, the workers mixed up my family member with other people when we came to visit. A few times, they even locked my family member in their room by mistake, or so they said. The place where they take care of people with memory issues didn’t look too bright or clean. The building has three levels. The parts for assisted living might not be the same as the memory care part.

"Mixed Feelings About Assisted Living Facility"
Dad likes it here, but we're uncertain. He enjoys the place and residents. I'm worried about slow responses. They say they're not short-staffed, but often Dad waits 30 minutes to an hour for help after pressing the button. They have a bus for outings, but they're not weekly as promised. Outings are rare, which other residents confirmed. Every day feels the same for them. Activities are disorganized. Dad tried to join but got frustrated with some residents unable to engage mentally. He stopped going. They have a new manager; I hope things get better. Staff varies some caring, others just working. Meals are fine, Dad's content. Clean facility, no odors. When I raised concerns, they asked for 30 days to fix things, so we wait. Unsure if I'd recommend them now.

"Disappointing Experience at Sunrise Assisted Living"
Sunrise was farther than we wanted. Only upper level apartment available, not suitable. Facility not very clean, atmosphere dark.

"Inconsistent Care at Assisted Living Facility"
This place doesn't have enough staff, so the services aren't good. The workers are okay, but the day staff isn't as attentive as the night staff. They forget to do things we remind them about. The medical center is great, though. Five stars for that! The apartment is nice, but the care isn't good enough.

"Assisted Living Review: Nice Facility, Friendly Staff, but Short-Staffed"
We visited the place in person. It's nice, with big rooms, which we liked better than another place. The staff were really friendly, even though it seemed like there weren't enough of them.

The tour guide was very nice, but rooms were cramped and costly. The facility looked nice, though.
