The Sheridan at Chesterfield - NOW OPEN
Victoria
"Spacious, friendly, and responsive assisted living with on-site therapy."
It's a nice place with lots of space, friendly staff, and it's clean. They made some changes when we asked. We chose it because they have therapy on-site (physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy) and it's in a good location.

"Struggling Assisted Living Faces Staff Turnover and Broken Promises"
The whole industry is having a tough time, but the constant staff turnover—both in administration and hands-on care—is concerning. Many promises made during interviews turned out to be empty. Things started off well, but now it's going downhill with more staff leaving, fewer perks, and poor communication.

"High Staff Turnover and Issues at Assisted Living Facility"
My dad fell more often than I was told, and he got into a fight that sent him to the hospital. This ended up being the fall that killed him. We dealt with a terrible transfer of ownership before it became the Sheridan. There was a lot of staff turnover, so I never really knew how my dad was doing health-wise. I never met the on-staff doctor, and there were many other issues. It seemed like nobody wanted to help because everyone was worried about getting sued. It's hard to say this because there are some amazing people who work there, but the high turnover caused a lot of problems.

"Food Quality Declines at The Grande at Chesterfield"
When my loved one moved into The Grande at Chesterfield, it was locally owned. The food was good, the activities were varied, and the staff was pretty stable and responsive. Since then, the facility has been sold twice and I believe it is now owned by an investment group. My loved one is now very unhappy here, but doesn't want to move at this time. Their biggest complaint is the food, and there have been lots of changes with the main cooks. They really need a more nutritious menu. Right now, I wouldn't recommend this facility to others.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short on Care and Communication"
When my mom got sick, the staff struggled to help. Tests and treatments were delayed. It was hard to reach them when I needed to talk about Mom. They didn't return my calls. Her apartment wasn't cleaned as often as they promised. The common areas were nice, though. Overall, I wouldn't suggest this place. It used to be okay when it was the [removed], but the new team just couldn't do it right. Sadly, I think some of Mom's decline was because they didn't pay enough attention to her when she was sick.

"Beautiful but not the right fit"
The place was really nice. We waited an hour for someone to give us information. It was a lovely place but not right for my loved one.

"Friendly Staff and Cozy Rooms!"
Even though the staff is short-handed, they’re super friendly and trying their best. They’re flexible with meals, delivering them to our loved one or offering alternatives if they don’t like what’s served. The rooms are nicely set up. Moving from a big house was easier because of the bedroom, separate living space, walk-in closet, and kitchenette.

"Assisted Living Facility Falls Short: Unresponsive Staff, Billing Woes"
The place looks nice and clean, and the food's good. But half the staff are temps, and they don't know what my husband needs. Even though I'm there every day, they don't recognize me. They keep losing our stuff, and someone's been stealing food from his room. They promised the rent wouldn't go up much, but it did. The billing department never answers. I'm really upset and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

"Sheridan Assisted Living: All Talk and No Action"
Sheridan made big promises but fell short. They convinced us we were making a good choice, but then they messed up on one of the simplest of tasks - delivering a meal to my family member. The only good thing is that the place is really clean.

"Mixed Feelings on Assisted Living Stay"
Our family member stayed here for a short break, and everything seemed great at the start. But then, we found out they got some bruises. The staff said it was because of the safety belts they use. We were never told about this, and there were no reports, so we’re not sure if maybe they don’t know how to use the belts right. We also asked the hair salon people to do our family member’s hair twice, but they never did it. We didn’t get what we expected.

"Disappointing Experience with Assisted Living Facility"
The community has had almost all of the staff leave. I would tell others to look at different places. This wasn't a good place for my loved one. My loved one needed extra help to go to the hospital. The staff wouldn't answer the call buttons for my loved one. I ended up moving my loved one out of the community. They convinced us by saying they have an executive chef and better food than other places. Our loved one asked for hot food, but it wasn't delivered hot.

The facility looks a bit dull, but staff are caring.

"Newer Facility!"
I liked the tour of this community for my loved one. The staff were friendly and had a good team for the residents. The facility is new, but I wanted something more established.
