""Lots of Lies and Staff Turnover at This Care Facility""

If you're searching for a spot for a family member, don't stop here. During my mom's brief stay at this place, they told us lies twice, which her doctors confirmed. Plus, there were lots of staff changes.

"Inconsistent Staffing, Decent Services; Management Needs Improvement"

This place has some good people who work here for a while, but many leave quickly. The people who work during the day are really nice. The bosses are okay, but they take a long time to answer. It took them 10 days to tell me what was going on with a test I had. They can't keep someone to plan activities for very long, but when they have someone, it's pretty good.

"High Staff Turnover Affects Assisted Living Quality"

Staff changes a lot. Hard to talk to managers. Place is clean and new. Everyday staff is friendly. Managers are slow to help. Too much staff turnover affects the rating. Bad situation with another tenant not handled well. Going downhill since activity director left.

"Mixed Feelings About Westview at Ellisville"

Westview at Ellisville isn't as fancy or modern as some other places we visited. However, they did give us a really good tour. The memory care setup wasn't exactly what we preferred. During our tour, we did see a supervised activity happening, which was nice to witness.

"Great Assisted Living!"

We noticed Westview at Ellisville's smaller size, friendly staff, and convenient location. Highly recommended!

"Disappointed with Nursing Home-like Atmosphere for Loved One"

I didn't like how this place looked like a nursing home. I expected better for my loved one.

"Clean, professional community with good nursing staff ratio."

We really liked this place. There wasn’t space for my loved one’s activities, but it was very clean and professional. The nursing staff to residents ratio was good.

"Assisted Living at Westview: Spacious Rooms and Chef-Prepared Meals"

My aunt lives at Westview at Ellisville and she loves it. The rooms are spacious; she's in a studio that suits her well. The meals are chef-prepared, which she enjoys. The pricing was reasonable too. I would recommend it to others.

"Friendly Staff, But Dark and Shaky Virtual Tour"

We took an online tour of this place. The people working there were nice, and the tour was alright. But the place looked pretty dim, and the video kept wobbling around.

"Friendly staff, good care, and secure patio for memory care"

The staff is very friendly, and we feel good about the care our mother receives. The food is tasty, and the rooms are average in size. My mom is in memory care, and they have a secure patio area.

"Thanks for the years of care "

Seven years ago my father came to Westview, being one of the first residents. He didn't need much help then, but over time the care he needs has increased. I am incredibly pleased with the staff's ability to manage all of his needs. Having a background as a manger in healthcare I am more aware of the care provided as well as the friendliness and interaction of staff. The administrative staff is very approachable with any issue or concern.

"Discontent with new management at Westview Memory Care"

I'm only giving Westview at Ellisville Assisted Living & Memory Care a 2 star rating due to the condition it's currently in. My Mom was once a resident here, and one of the first in the Memory Care Unit, everything was 5 star quality. However, the management has changed and because of that so has the service and professionalism, which has significantly gone down now. The Memory Care Unit has gone through major staff changes. A lot of the longtime caregivers either moved departments, quit, or got fired. As I'm located in Germany, I could only visit once a year when I came to St. Louis. My sisters however, would visit everyday. On my most recent visit, which was our Mom's 98th birthday, my sister brought ice cream and cupcakes to share with the residents and staff of the Memory Care Unit as well as other folks around the facility who knew our mom. My sister was in the kitchen dishing out treats when all of the sudden the director of the Memory Care Unit started loudly shouting at my sister to get out of the kitchen. Sure, she might not have been allowed to be in there, but the way the director yelled was very unprofessional. She should've just called my sister over privately and spoken to her in a respectful manner, not yelled for everyone to hear. My background as a Nursing Home Administrator, licensed by the State of Missouri, and my experience as a long-term manager tells me that the director's actions were inappropriate. Just a weeks ago, my sisters were informed that Westview could no longer take care of my mom and that she had to leave within a month. However, upon reflection, how much care was she really receiving? She's had a serious bed sore which developed due to lack of care. Plus an unexplained bruise was found that no staff could explain. Fortunately, my sisters found a new facility in a few days and my mom is no longer at Westview. She's been at the new place for a couple weeks and we're all extremely happy with it. Westview's Memory Care Unit needs to return to the professional state it once was, for the sake of its existing and future residents.

"Former Excellent Senior Home Declines; Better Care Elsewhere"

For the first half decade, my mom's stay in memory care was truly commendable. All the staff including and our dear friend treated mom and our family with much love and kindness. We were really happy with her care. However, the past couple of years have been tough. The administrative team changed and sadly, the level of service and care deteriorated. We raised our concerns to the executive director but no action was taken. We have now shifted mom to a new community where she's being wonderfully cared for, and where we're treated with the respect we're entitled to. And I express this with no regret: we won't apologize for expecting high quality care for our mother.

"Unhappy with Westview; Missing Familiar Warmth"

We're really dissatisfied. She's not acting professional and doesn't care about our worries. Right after the holidays, we're gonna move out. Westview used to be a great, caring place. It's not warm or like a family anymore.

"Underwhelmed: Nice Facility But Unflexible Pricing"

During the tour, I spotted a really nice assisted living area and also saw the memory care section. However, it didn't impress me as much and it appeared to be secluded. I sensed a lack of willingness to discuss the pricing, even though I felt there was room for negotiation.

"Very Impressive Facility!"

I toured this community and was quite impressed! The staff were friendly, providing lots of great information about their luxury-style living environment and amenities. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for my parents due to apartment availability.

"Great Assisted Living with Welcoming Atmosphere"

Great atmosphere, not outdated. Good amenities (missing a pool table). Staff interacts well with residents, especially in memory care. Ranked second among the five places I visited in Chesterfield.

"Family-Friendly Community Tour, Recommend for Loved One's Care"

I visited this place, and the staff seemed friendly. The place was clean, but it didn't feel right for us. I suggest families check it out for their loved ones.

"Fun Visit Shows Friendly Staff and Happy Residents at Westview"

I recently visited a family friend at Westview. When I was there, they were having a fun happy hour. The residents looked like they were having a blast with the live music and yummy food and drinks. The staff was really friendly and made everyone feel welcome. I would definitely suggest Westview if you're looking for a nice place for your loved one.

"Westview Falls Short for Special Needs Care"

Westview may be great for those without special needs, but not so much for those needing extra help. We experienced this first-hand with our relative, who was managing well until he began showing typical dementia-related issues. Instead of working with us, Westview sent him alone in an ambulance without our knowledge or consent, in a situation that was not an emergency. Only after he had been left alone at the hospital for some time did they inform us that he could not return to Westview. Thankfully, we were able to find another facility that is both able and willing to take care of our dad.

"Perfect fit for Mom. Visitors agree. Settling in nicely."

It was the place we picked for Mom. We looked at other places, they were nice too, but this one felt just perfect for her. She's been there for a week now. People who came to see her said she made a good decision and is getting used to it.

"Nice but Pricey Assisted Living"

They were nice, but a bit pricey. They had a secure area for memory care.

"Happy with Staff, Limited Banking, Easy Access – Great Service"

The workers are really good. I wish there were more choices, like banking options, but they don't have any. Also, they won't keep money for you. Since it's a small place, I think they can't offer much in that way. They do take residents to see doctors and to church, which we're really pleased about. We haven't had any problems. It's easy to come and go, and because it's small, people can make friends quickly.

"Friendly and Caring, But No Medicaid"

They've done a great job at this community. It's a lovely looking place and the staff are all very friendly and caring. Unfortunately, it won't be a permanent option for us because they can't accept Medicaid. We didn't know this when we chose it since our search was urgent. I'm adding this in my review as a heads-up for other families in the same situation!

"Pauline’s first week at Westview has been positive and smooth"

Pauline has only been at Westview for a week, but she seems to be adjusting nicely. She’s socializing and fitting in well with others. The communication here is great. The smoothie they made for her and the other residents was fantastic. The caregivers show real care and concern. I believe she will be very happy at Westview. Her private bath and bedroom are just right.

"This Assisted Living Facility Fell Short of Expectations"

This place wasn't top-notch. We battled issues like theft that affected many residents, not just us. Despite promises of filing theft reports, I'm pretty sure it never happened since I never saw one. My mom had a nasty fall where she broke bones, but the nurse assured me she was fine, a truth we only discovered much later. Nevertheless, my mom felt a lot of love for some staff members and they reciprocated her affection. They offered memory care and assisted living, and my mom was somewhere in between. The food, though visually pleasing and quite tasty, wasn't suited for older folks. They'd serve stuff like wraps, which posed a problem for folks with false teeth who found biting into tortillas tricky. The management team treated us well, but the nurse and cleaning crew were a bit on the colder side.
