"Depressing Atmosphere at Assisted Living Facility"

"Mom is happy here!"
My mom is in this cozy community. I love that she gets physical therapy three times a week, and they always keep her clean. Mom loves this place! We thought she would have trouble adjusting, but it’s been great. The staff is nice and friendly, and everything stays spotless. They encourage her to join activities, and she goes to church services on Wednesdays and Sundays. The memory care unit has a safe courtyard. If I see something that needs attention, they are very helpful and make sure it gets done. I would recommend this community.

"Dad feels at home here with great food and care"
My dad lives here and really enjoys it. He feels right at home, likes the food, and is comfortable. They serve meals like meatloaf, soup, hamburgers, and more, although I’m not sure of everything. The place is always clean, with housekeeping coming every day. They offer a few activities and decorate for holidays. The other residents seem happy, and those I’ve talked to really like it. The total cost covers everything he needs, like food, laundry, and medications. Overall, I’d recommend this place.

"Nice Place with Good Staff and Activities"
During the short time my loved one stayed here, I found this place to be very nice. The staff was knowledgeable and good at their jobs. They communicated well, and my loved one really enjoyed the food. They even adjusted it to the right consistency for easier eating, which made my loved one very happy. There are lots of activities for residents, but I would have liked to see more encouragement for those hesitant to join. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to other families.

"Clean, spacious, and friendly assisted living facility with engaging activities."
This place is really nice. It looks good, smells good, and the food smells delicious. There were a lot of people doing stuff together in the big room. I checked out the memory care part too. It's not super fancy, but it's clean and nice. Some ladies were folding napkins. The bedrooms are big. The people who work here seemed nice and were doing their jobs. They answered my questions about who works here and how they make sure everything's okay. I think I might pick this one.

"Great care and comfort in the memory care unit"
The director and staff were really nice to my mom during her stay. We could visit anytime, and we felt good about her being there. Communication with the staff was great; they were quick to respond. The food looked tasty, with good portions and snacks throughout the day. They encouraged her to join in daily activities and offered rehab and physical therapy. Her room was newly remodeled. I would definitely recommend this memory care unit.

"Dad Loves It Here, Family Is Very Happy!"
My dad has really enjoyed living here. He loves the meals because they taste like home cooking. Our family appreciates how the staff encourages the residents to join in activities and meet other people. Socializing has made it easier for him to adjust to not being at home anymore.

"Alright Meals and Activities; Great for the Dogs"
I picked this group home mainly because they could take care of my dogs. There are some fun stuff for folks to do, and they're alright. The food and the service aren't too bad. But when it's dinner time, they serve dessert even before they've cleaned the dinner plates, so there's a mess of dirty dishes next to the sweet treats.

"Mixed Experience at Assisted Living Facility"
The ladies at the front are nice. The place looks good. But they should give more care in Memory Care. Make sure those who won't eat get at least a bite. One day, my husband was starving, but they didn't notice until I asked. Cameras in Memory Care would help. Staff should spend less time on phones and more with patients. They should motivate residents more, not just accept no for an answer. My husband isn't joining activities. They have a nice outdoor area, but I didn't know about it. This place seemed affordable, but it's pricey and uncertain.

"Need for Increased Staff Attention in Memory Care Unit"
The front desk staff at this assisted living facility are really friendly. The overall environment is pleasant, but they really should pay more attention to the people in the Memory Care section. If a resident doesn't want to eat, they should at least try to encourage them a little more. For example, one day, I asked my husband if he was hungry and he was famished, he ate everything on his plate. It would be good if they had cameras to monitor the Memory Care section. The staff could also try and spend more time with the residents instead of focusing on their phones and meals. They could use more motivation techniques. Saying, "Come on, let's take a bath" may work better than asking if they want to take one. They should encourage participation in activities instead of just accepting a "no". There is a secured area with swings for the residents to enjoy the outdoors, I only found out about it recently. We chose this facility because it was the best for our budget but it's still pricey and I'm not sure if I can continue to afford my husband's stay here.

"Very good, but didn’t deliver on some promises."
When we arrived, April and Amber contacted me and came to see my husband at the hospital. They explained everything well. However, when he got settled in, there were a few small issues. He was supposed to be in a downstairs room because he uses a wheelchair, but he ended up upstairs at the end of the hall. It took a bit of time for him to receive his meals. They are very nice, but they didn’t follow through on some promises. My husband is a challenging person to care for, so he wasn't happy and doesn't want to go back. But keep in mind, he can be hard to please. Overall, the staff was sweet and wonderful in many ways.

"Bent over backwards to meet his needs, excellent care"
They really bent over backwards to meet his needs. They genuinely cared about him, making sure he ate his meals. He needed special bathroom arrangements due to his wheelchair, and they handled it perfectly. I don’t know much about the activities, but they seemed fine from what I read. The location was ideal for him since it was close to where he lived, though we live farther away. We’re all very thankful for the care they gave him.

"Dissatisfaction with Emeritus Services"
I'm not happy with the services at Emeritus at Heritage House. It's been tough. We pay a lot, but the nursing staff is often short-handed and not attentive to the residents. The staff is discouraging, and if things don't improve, we'll leave soon. My mom even went without medication for 4 days. Overall, we're dissatisfied.

"Unhappy with Care and Services at Emeritus Heritage House"
I'm unhappy with the care at Emeritus at Heritage House. It's been hard. It's frustrating paying so much and not seeing the nursing staff take proper care of the residents. The staff is demotivating, and if conditions don't improve, we'll be leaving soon. There was this issue with my mom not getting her medicine for 4 straight days. All in all, we're disappointed.

"Sales Process Felt Like a Misleading Experience"
The help provided was okay for a while, but sadly wasn't enough for my family member, so we had to move her out. It seems like we weren't told the full truth when they were convincing us to buy; we clearly stated the extent of help with mobility she needed and they insisted it wouldn't be an issue. But once we moved in, it was obvious they couldn't give her the same level of help they promised.

"Clean Facility with Helpful Staff and Fair Pricing"
The facility is very clean, which was a big reason we chose it. Although he’s only been there a short time and hasn't joined many activities yet, the on-site physical therapy is a plus. He seems happy with the food. Communication about appointments and transportation could improve slightly. All medications must come from a specific pharmacy and be given by the staff, which can be pricey. They have been very helpful and quick to reassure him if there were any issues. We appreciated how clean and friendly the place is, with a nice, homey feel. The price is fair, and A Place For Mom made everything easier for us.
