"Friendly, But Lacking Necessary Care"
This place was nice, and my sister-in-law found many friends. However, she needed more help than they could give.

"Affordable with spacious apartments, recommendable assisted living facility experience."
We chose this place because it fit my dad's budget and offered a larger apartment for the same price. Overall, our experience was good, and I would suggest it to others.

"Assisted Living Facility Review"
This place is really clean and the people are super nice. The food isn't good at all, though. They should work on that. I like playing games with everyone. It's worth the money. I chose this community because I didn't like where I lived before. Feeling safe here matters to me, and this place is enclosed, so that helps. I think other families would like it here too. They do big things for Thanksgiving and Christmas, which is nice.

"Friendly, Clean, and Great Value at Ridgeland Place"
As soon as we walked in, we could tell that Ridgeland Place was a super welcoming place. Everything is really clean, and there’s no bad smells anywhere. You get a lot for what you pay, which is awesome. From what we’ve seen, we’d tell other families to check it out for sure!

"Overly Friendly Atmosphere; Not Suitable for My Loved One"
The people there were really nice, but maybe a bit too nice. The lady who showed us around seemed like she was trying really, really hard. But, in the end, my family member just didn't feel comfortable staying there.

"Mixed Experience in Assisted Living Facility"
Overall, the staff seem happy during the week. However, on weekends and holidays, there are more new or less skilled staff members, which can cause issues with communication. In the memory care section, the double rooms aren't great. Each room has a bathroom, but one person's bathroom is inside the other person's room, which can cause disagreements. We're waiting for a single room, which seems better. I like the person who plans activities; she's great at keeping us informed. There are many positive people here, but we're still getting used to everything and deciding. It's been tough because of Covid most of our problems have happened during lockdowns.

"Informative but Not Ideal"
We took a virtual tour of the community. It was okay, but I'm not a fan of virtual tours. The information was helpful, but it didn't quite meet our needs.

"Disappointed: Overpriced and Unpleasant Living Conditions"
This place isn't really great, not even for the amount they charge us. The workers aren't nice at all. The rooms are just okay, nothing special about them. The food isn't too good, and they don't give you much. Plus, a lot of the meals are fast food like hot dogs or sandwiches, especially during the night. The cleaning isn't up to the mark. The activities they have aren't fun or mind engaging, it's just free stuff like watching tv or playing games. Lastly, the place has a strong smell of pee, which is worse than any nursing home I've seen.

"Welcoming Assisted Living: Great for Mom's Comfort and Engagement"
This place is really nice, and my mom seems to enjoy it a lot. Everything is kept very clean and tidy. The people who work here are friendly and easy to talk to, and they do lots of things with the residents. My mom enjoys the activities and spending time with the other people who live here. The food is good, and it's always served hot. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place for their loved one.

"Nice stay with friendly staff and fun activities."
My loved one is having a nice stay here. The staff is friendly and quick to help. They provide pendants for residents to wear. The activities director is funny and keeps everyone entertained. There is a sidewalk around the community for walking. The food is okay most of the time. The community is well-maintained.

"Convenient Location Lacked, Yet Pleasant Assisted Living Facility"
The assisted living place was nice when I visited. I went to check it out for my dad and how it could help him. Everything there seemed clean and neat. The people working there were really nice to me and my family. The only problem was that it was far away, which made it hard for us to get to. But besides that, it was a good visit.

"Friendly Staff and Affordable Prices"

"Not perfect, but pleased"
Mom has been here for a month. What she likes best are the activities and interactions with other residents. It worked out for us. It is very clean, with spotless public areas. There were a few issues with cleaning not being done as promised. The bed wasn't made in the morning, and the trash isn't taken out three times a day. Overall, we are pleased. No place is perfect, but she is safe, happy, and it's clean. Those are the most important things to us.

"Downbeat Atmosphere, But Good Food and Friendly Staff"
The Brookdale Ridge seriously needed some upgrades. It felt pretty sad to be there. While I took a tour, I noticed the folks living there seemed to spend a lot of time just watching tv. I visited around supper time and I must say, the food seemed tasty. The folks working there were nice and they gave clear answers to all the stuff I asked.

"Issues Noted at Brookdale, Hoping for Improvements Soon"
This Brookdale place wasn't our first pick for dad, but it's okay. The place is pretty clean and most of the people working here are nice. Dad likes the food but he's bored. He doesn't want to fold napkins all day. He wants to do something fun and physical. Maybe they'll have something when the weather's not so hot. But I'm pretty worried about something else. The folks that work here don't wear name tags. That's especially bad for the nurse who gives out the medicine. My sister, who's been a nurse for 30 years, came by last weekend and wasn't happy with what she saw from that nurse. The nurse didn't wear gloves when she was checking a patient's blood sugar. And she didn't do it right, either. She did it after the patient ate, not before. Plus, she dropped some pills on the floor and still gave them to the patient. We told the big bosses about all this and they told us this nurse won't be here much longer. I just hope they really keep an eye on the staff here, especially the nurses, cause my dad needs good care.

"Needs Better Training for Serious Incidents with Residents"

"Too Dirty, Too Slow: Deeply Dissatisfied With This Facility"
We were pretty disappointed. We noticed some cleanliness problems during our stay. They left a dirty washcloth in the sink and poop in the shower for an entire day. When we'd make complaints, there was no action taken. It didn't seem like they were short on staff, but they definitely weren't quick to resolve issues.

"Very satisfied with Emeritus at Ridgeland Pointe!"
They have helped a lot with moving a resident from another place where things didn’t work out. It’s a nice facility, and the staff is great. You have to ring a bell to get into the memory care unit and wait for someone to let you in. This can be annoying. Other places give you a code to get in without waiting for staff, and I like that better. Overall, we are very satisfied with Emeritus at Ridgeland Pointe.

"Generally Satisfied with Assisted Living, Some Room for Improvement"
Overall, we've mostly been happy with our time here. Sometimes, things have gone missing, but we hear that's common everywhere. The care has been good. The place is usually clean, though the cleaner could do better. They offer lots of activities, and the food's alright; it's not homemade, but it fills you up. They serve some odd combos like biscuits with scrambled eggs and crab cakes for dinner, which is a bit strange. They're in the process of changing ownership from Emeritus to Brookdale.

"Mother likes Ridgeland Pointe, exploring options, awaiting financial assistance."
The visit to Ridgeland Pointe went well. Mom enjoyed it there and chatted with some of the residents. However, she feels she's not ready to move in just yet. She's got appointments with her heart doctor on Monday and a vascular doctor on Friday. They provided her with all the details, which she's taken home to go through. The costs seem a bit high for her monthly income, so we're going to the VA to see if they can help. We've also applied for aid and assistance and are waiting to hear back from them within the next 90 days.

"A Very Good Place"
The place is really clean and they take good care of everyone. They charge you for the basics, and then there's an extra fee for additional care. They keep things interesting with activities like bingo, weekly wine socials, devotional services, movies, and Sunday afternoon ice cream socials. Plus, they have buses that take residents to different places.

"Seeking Assisted Living But Not a Fit. Home Care Now."
We were supposed to move in on May 3, 2013. However, when they evaluated her, they didn't think she was a good fit for assisted living. So, we returned to RPointe to explore memory care. We liked the private room, but we're not ready to place her there yet. For now, she's back home with us. We're keeping her on their memory care list. Not sure how long I'll be able to manage, so I've arranged for sitters, and home health care starts today. I think I'll know what to do after taking care of her for a little while. So, right now, she's home.
