"Owner's Deceit and Poor Conditions Spoil Assisted Living Experience"
Before my friend moved into Absolute Care, I had legal power of attorney (POA) for them. We were able to get a lower price because the owner belonged to the same group as me. The owner, the resident, and I had all agreed to certain terms. I held up my end of the deal and even did more than was required. However, after trying to get more money from me more than once, the owner lied and schemed. This even damaged the 50-year friendship I had with the resident. I strongly suggest not using their services. The food is disgusting, the living conditions are messy and you will be upset.

"Inadequate meals and poor staff assistance at this facility."
The meals they serve here are awful. Just yesterday and today, my food consisted of a single hot dog without a bun, a pretend egg, and only two slices of bacon. Despite being in a wheelchair, the staff did not even help to warm my lunch. I wouldn't recommend anyone to live here.

"Great care and beautiful facility, exceeded our expectations."
I had to move my mom quickly after her rehab stay. The rehab center wanted her in long-term nursing care, but we wanted her to continue with therapy, which wasn’t possible there. I contacted A Place for Mom, and they suggested Absolute Care. We read reviews and saw a few negative ones, but we decided to go with them due to time constraints. The owner was very accommodating, even adjusting fees for the short move. When my mom arrived, she immediately loved the beautiful landscape with trees, picnic tables, and rocking chairs. Residents enjoyed the outdoors, and the staff and residents were very friendly. The facility was much better than the reviews suggested, and I’m glad I chose to ignore them. The staff provided excellent care, including physical and occupational therapy, and a visiting nurse for pressure wounds. The food was a mix; she liked the home-cooked meals but not the mystery meat bologna sandwiches. I was very pleased when I picked her up. Even though I chose the facility without visiting first (I’m in NYC, and she’s in North Carolina), I’d use this community again if needed. They helped her improve both physically and spiritually, and she was happy with her stay. I highly recommend this place. I do suggest updating the website with new photos and honest client testimonials. Some negative reviews might be from unhappy former employees and don’t reflect my mom’s experience or the staff’s care.

"Great Experience with Caring Staff and Beautiful Setting"
I had to move my mom quickly when she was being discharged from rehab. Although the rehab center suggested long-term nursing care, we wanted her to keep getting therapy, which wouldn’t have been possible in that type of care. I contacted A Place for Mom, and they recommended Absolute Care. The reviews had a few negative comments, but most were positive, so I decided to go with them since we needed to make a decision fast. The owner was very accommodating, even though I was worried about how far it was from our family. She even adjusted the fees since it wasn’t a full month and we needed the move to happen quickly, including over the weekend. When my mom arrived and saw the place, she immediately called me, excited about how beautiful it was with all the trees. There were picnic tables with umbrellas and rocking chairs on the porches of the houses. Residents were enjoying the outdoors, listening to music, and chatting. The staff and residents were all really friendly, and the community was fantastic. The positive experience was much better than some of the reviews suggested, and I’m glad I didn’t let those negative reviews sway me. The staff took great care of my mom, keeping her happy and content. They arranged for her to get physical and occupational therapy and a visiting nurse for pressure wounds from rehab. While some meals were better than others, she really enjoyed the home-cooked ones, though she wasn’t a fan of a “mystery meat” sandwich. I was very pleased when I picked her up. Even though I had never visited the place before, as I’m in NYC and she’s in North Carolina, I would definitely choose this community again if needed. They helped her improve physically and emotionally, and she was happy with her experience. I do have a couple of suggestions: it would be helpful for the facility to update their website with new photos that show what it’s really like. They should also get honest feedback from satisfied clients and their families. I believe the negative reviews were likely from unhappy former employees and didn’t reflect the positive experience we had. The staff kept me well-informed about my mom’s condition and progress, and I appreciated their care and attention.
